Bear in mind I have only polished this car TWICE, in the year since I've owned it. It gets used every single day, and gets used hard, on tracks, motorways, everywhere. and i work on a manky old industrial estate, and have to drive accross all manner off rubble and mud and filth to get to the office. Here's my days' efforts. Didn't have a decent tyre/trim blacker to finish it off,and I couldn't be btohered to do the glass excuse the odd rear door. Not bad for someone who gave up with "shiny stuff" about 5 years ago!

great fun. so long as they've been built right and have corrado vr6 spec suspension on them you're laughing, literally. even better if it looks fairly standard.
-
for once, i agree with rodders.

it's like turboing an 8v, instead of a 16v or a 20v. Pointless. sure, you can get 700bhp with the 12v, but it'll cost you more. the same parts fitted to a 24v will net you more horsepower, fact.
-
you've bought the wrong mk4 calipers......
-
exactly, so why bother throwing money at a 12v when the cosworth designed 24v R32 head is bound to flow a hell of a lot better. especially if yuo are going turbo and talking about going for aftermarket management, it makes no sense whatsoever to stay with a 12v. And I'm not being elitist, I'm talking plain and simple facts.

yes, got 2 sets actually! wanna buy some? i have the roll bars on it too, and the quicker steering rack, S3 hubs and cast wishbones. it's fantastic, a massive imprvement on the soggy 4 motion rubbish, impeccable road manners, great on tgrack too.
-
wrong gearbox, your final drive is too short for the torque you have
-
84mm pistons I believe, I don't think it'll bore much further than that don't see why it'd be any less reliable if it was put together right in the first place.

i got Super unleaded (97RON) from sainsbury's for 90.9p last night!

sounds like good work, lets see it!

Glad to be of assistance! well done.

haldex is the way you need a sycnro rear beam, vr6 syncro rear arms if you're on 5 stud. vr6 sycnro box and the correct transfer box off a skoda octavia elegance 4x4 to run the haldex http://www.dutchdub.com makes and sells everything you'll ever need. corrado already has the big tunnel, you don't HAVE to fit a rallye rear floor, check out coxylaads thread it's not a dream, it's a realistic possibillity, and many peopl ehave done it themselves in their own garage, with no experience whatsoever.
-
DO NOT BUY A GOLF OR JETTA SYNCRO!! 99% of the parts will be useless to you, and apart from the fuel tank, most of them will be rotten too.
-
liking that. I'm guessing you;ll be using ally plate on it not steel?
-
can't see it let me guess, it's that stupid arab white bm with the crap back doors that spin all over the place?
-
that's a GT42R, a little TOO big. good for 1200bhp though! (it's for a mustang drag car)

don't do it!! what will it fetch? £10K tops? that's nothing in the scale of mortgages. you'll get that back in a year on the stupid way house prices fly up! sell some crap on ebay, sell everything you don't use at least once a week becasue you don't really need it. I bet you make a fortune don't let the corraod go, keep at it. nice to meet you at the show BTW, good chatting to you. -
bread on head? (old vortex thing)

yes, exactly that, in-pro's with folitec red tint spray on the top half. I still cna't decide if I like them, even after looking at them every day for nearly 2 years. no updates, haven't touched the car for nearly a year now. Got distracted by buying the mk4 and deciding to keep it, which basically wiped out my car finances for a year to pay for it. further distraction came in the way of a bike (more expense and time spent on lessons and stuff), which I subsequently crashed and had 2 months off working on cars whilst recovering. Also decided to do a 1.8t conversion for a mate. 8 months later and I'll still fannying about with it, wish I'd never said I'd do it. That will be out of the garage this weekend, and the corrado will be going back in and stripped to a rolling shell ready for a weld in roll cage fitting. then the fun begins proper over the winter. Don't expect a lot of build up pics or information, I'll be keeping a lot of it under wraps until it's finished so as not to give the game away too much. I may post the odd pic every now and then as a teaser though. but expect to see it in action on the strip and tracks maybe late next year if i get my finger out (or moe like, if I can afford to do what I want!) cheers for taking the time to drag the old thread up! like a trip down memory lane flicking through the pages again :-)
