they had a few VR^'s at GTI International with them on, got loads of pics, will psot em up. He had one on his mk2 R32 at Bug Jam, cracked the head where it was mounted! (weak point on the 24v)
-
some more teaser pics (but no information! this guessing game is fun)
-
Storm developments use Holset chargers IIRC.
-
I had the same problem when i did the head gasket on my 4 motion. Did the cams on the R32 lump, got the timing cock on first time. Something moved when I did the HG on the 2.8 and it took me a whole day to get it right. Even harder when the bloody sprockets actually twist around on the end of the cams!! fecking VVT, not fun. had to try giving it a full tuen, then trying to set it. no good, give it another full turm, try again. it's in there somewhere.
-
EDIT: double post due to slow forum....
-
just go to the dealers and book a test drive.
-
timing will only be correct every 4 revolutions. if the intermediate sprocket mark isn't lined up then the cams will not be. keep turning it until the intermediate sprocket is correct again, I bet the cams line up.

BWAHAHAHA     yup! you got that bit right at least!

He sold his yellow one, his is bordeaux red metallic guess again!
-
not my car, mines not yellow. it does belong to a forum member though!
-
yes, it's the side of the car. you're looking though the NSR quarter. note lack of boot floor and holes in rear panel too.
-
as for track performance, there was an ITR at the recent ClubGTI Curborough meet. My 4 Motion set a quicker time! [ambiguous claim disclaimer](well, so the driver of it said, I nevr checked to be sure) [/ambiguous claim disclaimer]

let me see....so they do a fwd test, and OH LOOK, the stripped out one with bucket seats and an LSD wins.....no surprise there then. not much written about the corrado really, got dismissed amongst all the light and chuckable french stuff

Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!
PhatVR6 replied to biggerbigben's topic in Members Gallery
excellent news there's ALWAYS something comes loose ont hat first drive out. for me it was the prop, bloody bolts VW sent me were too short and only held in the VC by 2 threads. spinning up all 4 wheels on the loose onthe way out of york dragway didn't seem to agree with them! but my mate follwing in his golf said the stone chips were worth it for being able to see 2 "rooster tails" os dust launching off the rear wheels. you will have some meag fun with that car, just go steady, as the syncro system isn't very strong at all. I stil have a pile of gearbox bits, I may sell you a casing, diff and cast steel transfer box as bits if that's all you need? -
don't be tempted to hang the tank any lower, it'll poke out too far below the bumper (the syncro one already pokes out too far for my liking)
-
you lucky lucky barsteward. i think almost everyone loves the any 911 of some sort (not going to be a saddo and reel off all the model names/numbers, even if I do know them). Shame my budget would only just about stretch to a 968, and that's just not my bag really (might as well just have the corrado!). can't wait to see this one progress (and thankfully you didn't put corvette wheels on it!)
-
glad you decided to go 4wd. I truly think that if you'd put it on the road in 2wd you'd have already decided never to 4wd it, but then you wouldn't have been happy with the traction so you'd have sold it. a step in the right direction.
-
buy them from Ford, for a ford Galaxy V6. same parts, but cheaper!
-
I know what you mean, I've done NOTHING on my Corrado since I bought the Mk4 nearly a year ago. problem being I took on another project for a mate aswell, and got a bike, which I then modified, then crashed. And since I've been injured (and almost recovered) I just can't be bothered to work on any of them! Thing is, I did the same with my old mk2, and it sat in my garage for 3 years, sold all the bits or used them in other cars, then I sold it as a bare shell. don't let this happen to your corrado.
-
cue oxford editions resident millionaire buying one any making it look just like that, with a twin turbo R32 lump. go on, you know you want to.
-
see if the flap is working in the airbox. it's the smae as a mk2, the little gear ont he bottom breaks. usually caused by switching the temperature control when the fan is on full. you should never adjust the settings on the heater unless the fans are OFF.
