I need to sample your car. Coxylaad said it amazing. I would like to see if it's possible for a Corrado to feel as modern and fresh as my mk4 does becasue mine really failed me as a daily useable car (I preffered it as a standard 8v!) -
and they are too narrow for the rims what tyres are they?

yeah, but I still like my mk4 more than my corrado (at the moment, seeing as I can't drive the corrado). bloody ugly cars though, corrado still brings a smile to my face when I see it -
have you been to the IOM? it's insane.
-
I have heard that also. and I have also used ATF, and wondered why my PS pumps uesd to die after a year.... Use the proper green stuff, from VW or the FEBI stuff from GSF.
-
had them on my mk2, hated them got them on my corrado (borrowed) hate them so much I nearly sold the car.
-
ah yes, I forgot you live there!! yes, it would be all to tempting to ride like a twat every day.
-
I'd have never got it all done at home on the drive. That's it, I'm definitely digging a pit in the garage now. it's SOOOOO much easier.
-
yes utter crap, avoid like the plague NEXT!?

everyone says they're scared of bikes. can't see the problem myself. I'd only ridden mine for a week and I went to the sle of man TT! what a fantastic experience. The worst thing about bikes..........is cars. People just don't look out for bikers.

yeah, I am, Ibuprofen, my back is killing me!

What a blast!! OK, so it's a little embarrassing when your bosses son (who's 15) can drive a LOT better than you, (but he has been driving since he was 4 and is a Junior RallyCross Driver!) I was still buggering about with my car at work, and I could see there was a lot of fork lift action going on in the car park/loading bay. Turns out that they were hosting the York Motor Club Autotest that month and I could have a go for £5, they even lent me a mini (no change of doing a handbrake turn in the mk4 with 265's on the back!) Tell you what, it's harder than it looks! the works foreman is an ex British Champion. Anyone who's ever seen Russ Swift will know what I mean when I say these guys can literally turn a car on a sixpence. Absolutely incredible to watch, different story when you're behind the wheel! everyone thinks they can do a handbrake turn. You try doing a 360 around a cone, and trying to remember the course that was scribbled on a bit of paper that you've had 5 minutes to memorise. Steering with one hand, whilst yanking on the handbrake with the other and trying to keep the front wheels spinning to drag you round is not easy. I was almost tempted to not sell the lupo and keep it for some autotesting action, but I thik I'll go find a crappy old polo or something for an autotest/grasstracking car. Budget motorsport at it's best. You can never get bored of doing handbrake and J turns  hilarious. All I need now is for him to give me some proper rally driving lessons.

Not strictly Corrado related, but you may be interested. The downpipe on the mk4 was blowing horrendously. I'd caught one side of it with the exhaust headers when I was dropping out the 3.2 lump. anyway, it split on my last month and has been getting worse since and had become unbearably loud. I decided to borrow the 2 post lift at work and take the opportunity to change the subframe (it was bent) and also upgrade the steering rack, wishsbones and hubs to TT/S3/R32 spec. Steering rack is quicker ratio and has thicker tie rods, wisbones are cast, hubs have slightly different geometry, the tie rods go in from undermeath to resolve bump steer issues on lowered cars and bigger bottom ball joints. fitted an Audi 3.2 TT downpipe. went straight on. went to fit the 4 motion cats (insert Family Fortunes derived sound effect here) no go....flanges different. oh dear... But, it just so happened that I had a pair or Milltek race cats sat in the garage that I'd been saving for the corrado. the only way I was going to get the car back on the road for Monday (daily driver) was to fit those. which I did. got it all together and WOW!!! it rasps like a bloody rally car!!! it really does sound like an M3 CSL, I'm over the moon!!! had a few issues with the geometry being a mile out, set it by eye for now, but who cares when it sounds that good! fixed the poxy ABS fault too, so I now have some proper 4wd action going on. (which of course I just had to test on the gravel car park at work, 3 huge donuts was all the testing it needed to make me do this ----> almost a happy chappy (for once...)

hmmm, 4wd? -
I've got 2 CAT D cars. My mk4 4motion and my missus's lupo. lupo was literally half price, and cost me £400 to put back on the road. Mk4 again was half the going price, and I already had the engine it needed. still looking for a door, but that plus paint wil only be £300. so the car will owe me £7000, not bad for a fully loaded v6 4 motion with everything apart from sat nav and cruise control, still up for over £11K in the trader. I'd much rather have a car that I know is straight chassis wise (because I've had it in bits and I can tell) and on a CAT D than have a car that's NOT recorded but has been in a bad smash. if you know what you're looking for, you'll know what's a good buy and what's not. but. Airbags going off seems to push most cars straight into the write off section due mainly to cost, so you can get some right bargains with very little repair work needed. It does put people off though, so you will have trouble trying to sell them on again (although you don't have to declare it unless you're a trader!). I can't give my lupo away (going on ebay tonight actually!) I'll never buy a "normal" car again, they are a waste of money. I suppose it's handy that I work 100yards away from one of the biggest breakers and salvage yards in the UK :-) I just can't help myself!

you could try cutting out the built in roll bar (good excuse to celan up the ends where it pokes through)THEN adding the extra plate. as has been pointed out, any plate you add is adding to the torsional rigidity of the beam. You'd have to be a right smart arse to be able to work out how much to add or take away. also, 1.5mm plate would distort like mad if you fully welded it in, which would stand out amile when chromed.

it's been there for weeks. on OZ super Turismo's, Reiger grille with a dubsport badge on the grille spoiler. I can't look at it any longer, I need to go ask what's wrong with it. it's SUPER clean. anyones on here? it's at H&T on Full Sutton Industrial Estate, next to Simpsons Salvage near York.

oh, hang on, no it doesn't. check out the o2J/02a type casings next to it, the bolt holes on the bell housing are clearly different. I think you may find that's a 6 speed off a 1.6 FSI, which is a smaller block engine, like the Lupo GTI, so I'd doubt very much if it'll fit the bigger block engines.
-
I hate to admit it, but it sure looks promising!!!

no different to a standard 2.9 manifold, save your pennies.
