Biggerbigben - Golf sold.. another new project!
PhatVR6 replied to biggerbigben's topic in Members Gallery
2 tone is ubergay as is brown body colour, even if you decide to change the body colour (i.e. paint the bay now in you rplanned change), just not brown. -
can be done actually. AAT do a 2 peice spacer/adapter to go from 4x100 to 5x112. don't ask me to explain, took me a while to get my head around it, but it's obvious when you see how it's been done.

the interior is pants. in fact, that was one of my first thoughts after stepping in tho the 355 "oh look, recaros, just like my corrado seats"
-
nice line that, agreed (but I still want to be able to say I've got over 400bhp one day!)
-
why has no one pointed out that the 8v box would be an 020, which is rod change............and all corrado's are 02A cable change.......and why would you want to retro fit some weak old crap into your corrado?
-
I've been on one of these. i was gutted when I got there and found out that there was no "track" just a poxy strip of airstrip to ppotle up and down! Had a drive of a dog old 348TB, which was utter crap, and no quicker than my old VR6 and had THE worst gearchange I've ever experienced in my life. Then ther 355, which was damn powerful, but horrible to drive. I had more fun doing dounts in a 2.0 DAX rush around a coned out course than I did in the ferrari.s Finally, a go in a full on STI Version 7 WRX rally car. That thing absolutely flew, again, only in a straight line, but it was much better than either of the poxy "stallions". I never want to drive a Porsche. You know what they say, don't meet your hero.......

24V Renshaw - 24V V6 - Just read the whole thread!!!!

Jay, don't flame me for this, I'm not being critical and slagging the car of fin any way, but I'm going to stick my neck out (not that it's ever IN !) and say I don't like the vette wheels anymore. Yeah, I know it's a daily driver and that polished rims and splits are high maintenance but I really do think they are cheapening the over all look of the car. Go on, find something even more special to stun us all at the shows this year, the car really deserves some flash wheels (or at least some wider tyres!) They are the only things I'd change, everything else is perfection. -
totally agreed. 15"s are far too small too.
-
nah, I'll be tinting them, and yes, I did meant the tops, durrr, red indicators and balck brakes lights, that'd work.... not. no pics from the side unfortunately, I can't take and from the side unless I push the car out on the road, and it's too bloody heavy to do that for no other reason than to take pics!
-
ah, well if you're talking potential or theoretical figures based on how many part you have then I've got more than you anyway ;-)
-
cams £800 cats £800 milltek £450 chip £500 300bhp. name me more than one corrado VR6 pushing more than 300bhp on this forum.

correct, it gives you traction, not lateral grip, that is down to the suspension and tyres and weight distribution. BUT, the 4wd can help with these as with the extra weight at the back the car does actually feel better balanced. and the effects of the independant rear suspension has already been discussed. not exactly so. The corrado floorpan is taken from the passat.golf G60, both of which were offered in 4wd format. The corrado shares the larger tunnel of the syncro equipped cars, and the lip on the bottom of the rear chassis leg is already cut away so it won't catch on the brake lines on the syncro alxe. also, VWMS did produce a 4wd corrado. sure, you can make a 2wd as quick or even quick round a track, but when you don't have the benefits of slick tyres, perfect road surfaces, high speed cornering (making use of aerodynamics) then you will lose out to a car than can put down it's power in almost any conditions.

topic title changed. mods please move out of group buys. it's worth keeping the thread going as there's some good battery info here.
-
FORGET IT GROUP BUY CLOSED. ONLY 3 PEOPLE INTERESTED. 50 IS GOING TO BE TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE.
-
you're all taking about rac tracks, where you'd barely drop under 60mph anyway so traction will hardly ever be an issue. I'm tlaking about REAL WORLD driving. which in this country, bean horrible, pot holed, bumpy, and usually wet roads. 2wd isn't enough.

I might tint the bottom half black, mk2 16v style.

amazing work, and one of the few cars about that looks even better for real than it does in photo's. pics just don't do this car justice at all, it really is like a brand new car. -
I don't do orange indicators I'm afraid. Why doesn't anyone make an OEM style red.white rear light!?!!?!
-
looks nice and shiny, doesn't stand up to close inspection though IMO.

Whats the best way to blag stealer discounts?
PhatVR6 replied to Ice White Socks's topic in General Car Chat
every time I go the receipt comes up as TRADE SALEs and I seem to get a good slice knocked off. Probably due to the frequency I buy stuff from there! -
looking rough! 18" R32 wheels "toothy" loom ripped out, coil packs binned, going back to VR type coil pack and leads (sleevd to withstand 1500C) the jury is out on the red crystals should they stay or go? the more I look at them the more I dislike them.
-
