fair point! it was a bit chavvy looking, maybe he took him to one side and told him to buy some bbs splits instead?

I just nearly choked on my dinner! The missus flicked the channel over to Men & Motors, and there's good old "undercover cop" Gareth "educating" the driver of a modifed Mk1 golf about kerb crawling!!! Traitor!
-
my mk4 Recaro trim is miles better than the older stuff. Comfiest car seats I've ever sat in. (yes, the walnut is going.....)
-
When I had my Audi TT seats in my mk2, I noticed that on the underside they said "KIEPER RECARO" but also "MERCEDES BENZ"!

yes, that's a prime spot for sensor problems. I've had 2 clifford alarms, a 50x, and now an avantguard G5. when the first 50x was installed, that's where it was put and it gave me bother for the whole time I had the car. when I fitted the alarm in another car I didn't even bother with the sensor. then I read on a forum about the placement, and when I bought my G5 it came with fitting instructions, and it tells you to fit it up in the headliner. so I fitted the whole alarm myself and put it up there, and it worked fine. the only sensor I had problems with was the tilt sensor.......guess where I'd put it.....you got it....under the rear ashtray.....they just don't like the heat off the exhaust,

powdercoat them gloss black. silver will look cheap, and any other colour will just reflect in the chrome and look messy. seen chrome handles, looks crap, he's also chromed the filler flap too, it was horrendous.
-
yes, they are a f*cking nightmare, i always had bother with mine on my concept 50x. The main problem is location. I found the best place to put it is up in the headliner behind the sunroof motor cover. If it's down o the tunnel you'll find that the heat from the exhasut affects it.

under the battery (not literally...)
-
LMAO! classic. I must admit, I did regularly check to see if my Ram Air was still there....walked into work many a time with a handful of filthy filter oil......
-
yeah, but his is supercharged, so the MAF or map is bound to mess up before 7000! ;-)
-
I've seen an indicated 156 even with the old 2.9 in it. ChrisVR6NOS reckons he can do 165mph....but i don't think the stock gearing will actually allow that.
-
nigh on impossible to find here, there's less than 10 in the UK i bet. cheap enough on the continent though, if you want to import one yourself. I know of one for sale in the uk, but it's a RHD TDI and he's asking £6500 for it....
-
behave, I've just fitted some new springs to jack it up more! and I've just order bigger 205/60 tyres (instead of 195/60) it's like modifying in reverse!
-
it's a golf country. real. it's a golf a sycnro on a raised tubualr chassis. all LHD, only about 7000 made. do a search on google, loads of stuff on the net about them. this on has been converted to RHD (and the cock who did it used an early column so I can't fit the nice Corrado leather steering wheel I got today.) and also has an LPG kit on it. 34.9p a litre! mint!

proper snowmobil

I took a side window out today, that I was going to put into mine. then I realised...I hacked through the seal on the window I wanted to use, not my old one.durrrr.
-
my old mk2 VR6 was horrendous in the snow. tyres too wdie, suspension too stiff and too low, used to gound out in about 2" of snow. I used to leave it at home and get my dad to give me a lift in his sierra, that thing NEVER got stuck, and the big oval road around my old office was just begging to be drifted. even the old man, in his 60's used to love drifiting around there! [JCB song]I'm paul I'm 21 and my dad's Tiff Needell, drifting around in his sierra so well[/JCB song] etc etc

I won't have anything else now, FWD is a load of cock in anything other than dry smooth tarmac, which is virtually non-existent in the UK. I think the VC o the country is a bit lazy, it still seems to spin D fault at the moment, so the 4wd is in "dumb" mode and the ESP and traction contorl isn't working. so as soon as I light up the front wheels the rears spin like a b4stard too and it want's to swap ends on the spot! It caught me out the other day when I was trying to be clever, I slod into a kerb and took a 3" long chunk out of the FOS alloy :-( I think I might have to go take some donut vids on the airfield tomorrow :-)

nice one Blue_Joe, about to be professionally scanned and PDF'd :-)
-
I'm loving it! then again, we've got a golf country, and a golf v6 4 motion! (and my corrado is a syncro too :-) )
-
so long as no money is made what's the problem? it's not like we're reproducing them it's not meant to be used outside of VAG though, it does state that on the back of the manual. if you're scared of hosting it up the forum then that's fine, but I will still send out odd pages if anyone needs the info.
-
well, I haven't got Adobe Acrobat! If anyone else has, and a decent scanner, I'll happily loan them the manual so that a decent copy can be created for the forum users. It really is an excellent bit of information, even if you don't need any repairs the shold of the naked corrado shell are still interesting for us corrado saddo's! I inititally bought it off ebay so I could get more information about the rear floorpan for when I did the 4wd, but now it's coming in useful for my replacement roofskin task.
-
I have one of these. I don't have a scanner, but I've photographed every page. If I'm allowed the space on the site I can upload the pages for future reference? alternatively, if anyone if after any info on any particular area of the car, I can email then that page. I'm hoping to scan them all in and convert it to a PDF in the near future.
-
sounds like you got a fairly tweaked motor there! yes, I'd run it on optimax or BP ultimate. no doubt that's what it's been mapped for. any more info on the car?
-
I downloaded the veyron one, if you have 348MB spare I'm sure I could find you the link ? it was very underwhelming though.
