  1. it's no bigeer than a vr, don't be fooled by that big gay plastic engine cover.
  2. don't be tempted to go to GSF for a rad, their rads are cheap crap, I s.ent mine back get an AKG one from euro car parts. OE quality, about £95.
  3. my response to people who say 4wd saps power:- what is wheelspin......if it's not a power loss, then what is...... the only disadvantage of the 4wd is the extra weight you have to drag around when you don't need the extra traction. personally, I'll never have another 2wd car again. My missus car is a golf country. my daily is a golf v6 4 motion, my corrado, 4wd. I utterly detest cars that can't put the power down. wheelspin doesn't impress me, nor does drifting or burnouts. traction is what it's all about, that's what makes a fast car. I couldn't car less if the car has 800000bhp, if it can't put it to the ground it's worthless. I've seen the light, 4wd cars are where it's at. Go drive a golf syncro and compare it to a standard golf. I bet you can't feel the difference weight wise, the closer gearing makes up for it. also, the independant rear suspension really helps the turn in.
  4. and it's also much less work than fitting a 1.8T.
  5. syncro is no good. floor pan is the same, but the parts aren't. syncro has a rod change box, which can't handle 300bhp. not saying the 02c rallye box can, but it's a dman sight stronger! as is the rear dif, VC, rear wheel bearings are bigger, disc brakes, thicker ARB etc etc
  6. yup. mine started as an 8v, but I converted everything to VR6 and ran it like that for a while before going 24v.
  7. WOW! I absolutely adored that Jetta the first time I saw it, and now I find it's that clean undernetah as well! incredible, deserves it's own thread!
  8. Ahy, yes, I remember you saying now. should have a fair few conversions under his belt! has he actually done a 24v transplant yet?
  9. I remeber chatting to him at Inters years ago. I was aamazed by the attention to detail in the engine bay, it looked factory! i didn't even know it was 4WD back then!
  10. they are just ABS sensors. Use the corrado ones.
  11. wheneer you take your car into a garage demand to see the old parts they've removed. If they can't show you them, don't pay for the work.
  12. cut a rallye up, put the bits in yours corrado.
  13. does he know that you can't fit it with the air con pump attached unless you modify the front cross member? That PS pipe can come off to, you don't need that, the corrado pipes will fit straight ont he 24v pump. Does this guy know what he's doing? has he given you any odea of how he's going to tackle this? or you actually telling HIM from the info in this thread?
  14. some good progress at last! i still don't agree with the side engine mounts, but we'll have to agree to disagree on that one ;-) (again!)
  15. don't be silly. fit a 24v.
  16. mk4 hubs are nothing like corrado ones. but if you have vr6 huns, then 288 or 312mm mk4 brakes will fit.
  17. of course there's room. it's just that an off the shelf kit for a LHD won't fit.

you idiot. they are £28 I got one from inters in the Autojumble for £1! Ask for the Parts Club Discount. Actually, about time we got the Corrado Forum listed on the parts club scheme, new thread coming up!
  19. I rememebr seeing a mk1 G60 in The Golf mag aes ago, and he's tried to do this, only to find that the chromw wouldn't take to the ally of either the gearbox or bell housing. please tell me you checked the material first?? he had to have a billet casing made up! That must be THE most awkward thing to polish, I wouldn't have even attempted it, wheels are bad enough! As a few have stated, you're crackers!!
  20. give the inner cup a good whack with a hammer (don't split the boot! hit it in the face where the bolt heads sit, it'll clip back into the diff.
  21. it's not a campaign....they only made 6, and only 5 are left. it's have a brick red recaro leather trim if it was a campaign. UNLESS some nutter swapped the trim over!
