Mine still has the original 8v MC! haven't even looked at the size of it, but it was good enough to all but melt the 288's.
-
I just hope the master cylinder is going to be big enough?
-
just wait for the blow out end of season race them. you've just missed it up at croft circuit a couple of weeks ago.

I could never understand why my dad's mk2 TDI had so much better brake feel than my corrado, when they were both using the same calipers and mine had braided hoses with fresh fluid and I'd bled them to death! I'm hopinh my new caliper setup doesn't kill the feel as now I'm used to driving my onwn mk4 daily and they bite they have feels great (althoughI have managed to out-brake myself a few times, (the 312's aren't that good with 1550kg to haul up)

you should really try and follow the rally cross series. they have some mental cars in some of the unrestricted classs where just about anything goes.

Has anyone one tackled a replacement roof skin? I've got the genuine VW corrado bodywork repair manual but the drawings are pathetic, I want to see proper pics! My car was a non-sunroof model, but some dick decided that before it was even registered he'd have the brand new corrado shipped off to some monkey in wales for an aftermarket glass electric sunroof. (why they didn't just fit a passat one I do not know...) Lord know what it must have cost, but whoever did it managed to slightly kink the roof panel. Although I do quite like the big glass panel, the kinks have bugged me ever since my mate pointed it out. Also, seeing as the roof panel is the only panel on the car yet to be resprayed(that and the tailgate) I'm thinking that now is the time to sort it. Sure, I could have a bit of filler put in the ripples, but now I'm going for a track biased car I'd rather cut the thing off and replace it altogether. a carbon roof would be nice, but horrendously expensive, and i'd still need another no-sunroof skin anyway to take a mould off! although I haven't ruled out this option totally. so, basically, looking for any info at all, or tips, or even possible links to parts (either a new skin or a roof off a scrap car). ta.

BUY MY LUPO! only a 1.0E, but 60bhp, goes alright, fun to drive, looks funky and girlie!! fantasia green, 38K, '51' plate. £2500, cheapest one about that age/mileage

please tell me you'r eputting a quaife/peloquin in there? because if the diff ever blows you'll only be doing all this again!
-
nice one, love it! looks well ard,and I bet it gets driven well ard too get some more pics on, and change that steering wheel to a pukka OMP or sparco suede one!
-
well, actually "carlsberg don't make corrado's...but if they did...they'd probably be the best corrado's in the world....." ;-)
-
I'll be making the cage myself 9well, I'll design it, the fabrocator will make it). full chro-moly steel weld in jobbie seems rude not to make use of the fab shop at work really! unlessI can find one i like off the shelf, which is highly unlikely. as for the roof.....hmmm, I think I'll have to cut it off, possibly including the channels

the transfer box is matched to the rear diff. if your car is the one I'm thinking it is (blue RHD one with corrado dash?) then it actually has a rallye gearbox, transfer box and rear diff, with a vr6 syncro bellhousing. VR6 syncro and rallye diffs are not the same, neither are the transfer boxes. how about you buy an 02m 6 speed, prop and haldex diff off me! not a direct fit by any means, but it will bolt up to your engine ok, and if you know a man who can shorten driveshafts and props and fabrocate a diff mount then you'll be sorted (well, apart from the diff controller but that's another subject in itself)

eventually. you wouldn't want them as they are, they need 4 new outer rims and one new inner rims. plus they are porsche fitment. all those sexy pics and all I get is someone asking me about some old wheels :-(
-
I bet you wish you could do this in your corrado!

My mk2 golf was done in a 3 stage pearl. £76 a litre for the paint, and there's 2 paints! a flat base coat, then a pearl metallic, then clear coat (lacquer) the idea being that you normally see the base coat, but when you catch it in the light that pics out the metallics, and because they are suspended in a coloured base they shine and give off a different colour. I paid £2000 for the paint job, way back in 1998.

My 8v has heated leather recaro's. (didn't come with them though)

different. nice dish! I think I'd actually prefer them without the centre cap for some reason? are the faces of the spokes diamond cut?
-
yes, it did, but it looks better on THESE LM's!! sold the 8.5x18"s as I'd have had to buy new tyres for them and I couldn't afford any. So I got these porsche fitment ones off ebay for half the price as they need a bit of a refurb (mild kerbing on 3 of them). I'm not that keen on hub adapters, but I've found some H&R ones which are TUV approved and seem really strong, with the bolts coming through fromthe back, not threaded in to the alloy like most I've seen. I'll be going to porsche fitment hubs soon anyway so I'll be able to get away with porsche spacers and longer porsche bolts. I decided whilst the wheels were off that I'd take off the 288's. they were utter crap on track, note the funny shade of brown they've gone! Porsche 993 Carrera 4 turbo S discs (323mm) on MOV-IT audi TT fitment alloy bells (rotor hats). MBT engineering brackets will be holding up the boxster S calipers once I have them drilled and machined and powdercoated (calipers are just hung there at the moment). Better pics coming up once I rebuld the hubs and have them all powdercotaed and stuff. 215/35 and 245/30 tyres coming up when I can afford them. and new suspension too. yes, that's a 10"x18" onthe back there :-) (needs to go in another 1/2") (ooh, look at me shiny paint ) nice to see a dry garage floor too now I've replaced the roof. :-) speaking of which.......I really don't like that sunroof......;-)

yeah, I wouldn't want to rob business off all smiles. Rich already makes a lot of the stuff some people are mentioning.
