get a weber carb for it, the one it comes with is a heap of sh1te. auto choke never works, manual choke kits over fuel and jam up, and they ice up in cold weather if you don't have the proper hot air intake hose and the collector sheilds on the exhaust manifold 9which are no doubt rotten) they go well with a weber, I had a jetta syncro with one on it, it went like a GTI, but with more grip! our old 1.6 GL Auto had the poxy standard carb, with all of the above faults....

I'm bored with my R32'd 4 motion already, anyone wanna buy that?
-
I admit.....at first I thought "what's with the stupid fecking bodykit??" then I realised they are just "tabs" for glueing it together..... DOH!
-
and they are crap not to be confused with michelin pilot sports.

oooh, LM's!!!!tyres are too big though, and I fear i may have to sell them on as I need too many other bits for the car. :-( ooh, is that ane engine I see in the bay too?

cleaned up and refitted the Fidanza flywheel and Helix Clutch, and crank pulley. Attempted to bolt up the gearbox, but it didn't want to go on, and it's so bloody heavy I was knackered after an hour of wrestling with it so i gave up.

Who takes their Corrado out on track? (or strip)
PhatVR6 replied to PhatVR6's topic in General Car Chat
I bought the undrilled cast steel ones from MBT Engineering in germany. you machine and drill.tap them yourself to suit whatever discs/calipers you're using. handy really, as the MOV-IT 'rotor hats' I have are for an audi TT! not quite the right offset for the corrado, but they pull the calipers back away from the wheels an extra 5mm which is handy. (993 Carrera 4 Turbo discs.) -
Well, it just so happens I have one of those out of an R32. I was going to fit it in my corrado, then in my mk4, but now that's going the sat nav unit is up for grabs, with wiring loom and GPS aerail. £400.

don't even contemplate doing a track day unless you have a quaife/peloquin or true LSD. That's what lets the VR down, it has too much power to put down coming out of tight turns without a decent diff. with one....welll.....you really need to experience it to realise just how good it is. -

ditch the 280's, they're crap. I absolutely cokked the 288's, they're crap too for track use. after 20 mins they were smoking. about 8 laps in and I had to back off as I couldn't brake hard for fear of actually damaging them. fitting some 4 pots brembos now off a boxster -

well.......ahem.......I've been very very foolish and made a bit of a tool of myself in the process of trying to sell my corrado........so.......well......errr...... I'VE DECIDED TO KEEP THE CORRADO!!!!! Yes, all that talk of practical car and all that crap. i just realised the other day that I don't actually need a practical car at all!. well, certainly not £10K's worth of mk4 that I just run to work in and daren't actually take on a long journey as it does 23mpg.....I don't have kids, certainly don't want any either, and my missus has a 5 door golf country that has lpg so that's mint for holidays, shopping, towing etc etc The solution was staring me in the face......keep the missus's old lupo 1.0E and use that as a daily driver to go to work and pick up car parts in. cheap to run, cheap tax, reliable, not bad to drive (bloody slow though!). Giving up on my mk2 track project, too much work and not enough money, so that's going. (see clubgti classifieds if anyone facies a wold track proiject. 24v v6 4motion running gear and a 3 door syncro converrted mk2 golf shell for £2000 all in) The mk4 is being sold to a mate who has loved it since I bought it (lucky man, a factory looking but R32 sepc mk4 for £10K....bargain). that'll be sold as soon as he sells his mk4 GTI and gets the money sorted out. lovely car, seeved it's purpose well, but I just can't afford to keep that and the corrado. I know I said it's nice to have a mint car to drive daily, but at the end of the day, when you work in a shithole industrail estate like I do or commute you just need something cheap, reliable and economical, the lupo is all 3 and it's already here and mine (shame it's bright fecking green!!! proper girlie car) so, what does that leave me with. My corrado, a multitude of wheels, another 3.2 engine, a spare 2.8 24v, my motoraport 6 speed and boxes full of bits that I was saving up for the mk2 project. stuff I've been collecting for the past 4 years. lots of VERY good quality and bloody expensive stuff....it's now all going in the corrado.......oh my :) I won't give out full details of where the project is now going, but the sale of the leather should give you an idea........ Watch this space....some exciting pics and vids coming to this forum. I'd like to think I'm taking corrado engineering one step further by doing things no one else has.......without trying to sound too cheesy "join me on this increduble journey into the unknoen" blah blah (I'm losing the plot about now...) Oh, and expect a new me too, I've snapped out of my mood and depression now I have some focus and some new found corrado love, so you'll have less of the moaning from now on. (I reserve the right to withdraw this statement at any given opportunity should the need arise) I sincerely apoligise for eveything bad I ever said about corrados, it won't happen again I promise! Am I welcome here? :?:  PS thanks to coxylaad for all the pep talks and guiding me away from Lotus Elise ownereship......cheers bud, I hope you're right!

And what do you think of how it goes, handles, copes out there. Also, what sort of machinery are you wasting on these days. I dicked a 968CS at Donnington, which was highly enjoyable. Left a Golf R32 standing too, and a TT engined mk1 golf! great fun. Not ran it on the strip whilst running properly, but it ran the same time as my mk4, which was good enough to pull 5 car lengths on an EVO VI. Interested to hear your track experiences and to see how many corrado's out there are actually being driven properly (and also to find out if all the so called experts on here are brave enough to prove their tuning therories and put them to test!!).

I saw this on votrex a while ago. absolutely beautiful, truly stunning. I can't help wondering how on earth you manage to drive it with so little tyre clearance though!!! howver bad it may or may not ride, i bet it's worth it because it looks amazing. 'props' as they say int he usa (whatever that means!?)

see classifieds. I have a g60 turbo conversion for sale, with a gas flowed cross flow head for £1000. -
crap, look like wheel trims never understood the who audi wheel fad, the A8's are awful, especially those long spokes things all the asians fit to their mk4's. 928 porker rims, same thing, flat faced, dull, wheel trim like rubbish. splits are the only way to go
-
so they weren't really the last batch of corado made after all then. makes then even less special!

I have some new beetle 16" steels for sale pm me

phew! I though we had an imposter there for a moment! BTW, picking up another R32 engine for the corrado next week, it will be back :-)

Jay, I'd just like to to say, I think this car is the best Corrado in the UK, I love it to bits and it's ALMOST making want to keep mine. Much respect for your taste, style, workmanship and commitment, can't fault it.
