  1. I like the colour concept Golfs tbh... my best mate recently got a black CC and it's really nice both inside and out and the 8v engine doesn't go too badly at all! If the price is good then you'd be a fool not to snap it up - the only thing I wouldn't be sure about is the yellow leather seats but I'm guessing as an owner of a nugget that won't bother you :D
  2. No she was doing the bedroom for some of the time I was working on that - it was nearly 2 months of weekend work to get it done  She's still doing the stairs

If they're less than 1280 pixels wide then you can upload with the add attachments button when you post using the ''post reply'' button. Otherwise you can host them on an image hosting site and post the link using at the end 8) PM me if you have probs and I'll resize/get them up for you :D
  4. Looks nice! the CC'd grills on Storms look great but I don't think it works well on all colours... I take so many pics of my car my g/f's just got used to it now

    Pollen Filter

does it restrict the air flow at all?
  6. Fitted a tow eye cover and gave the C a good clean and polish yesterday! Though it looked quite shiny in the pub car park as the sun was setting yesterday so borrowed a mates phone camera and grabbed a quick shot - low light and shaky hands don't help all that much though :?
  7. We're in a similar boat but haven't started doing the kitchen/bathroom yet! would love to have a driveway but instead we've got a private car park out back... although I've just had to re-home the C as have been worried that our nutty neighbour might attack it :( My recently completed job was building decking and shed over a 3 foot drop at the end of our garden - have run power down there too and now have steps leading to a path that goes right out to the car park! Which makes working on the C ideal as have all the tools and power I could need in my shed 8) Pic of it just before I completed it all - power wasn't connected at this point so my g/f placed some candles so we could get a nice arty night shot... it's now got counter sunk LED's along the front and lights on the back fence panel and in the alley (which is out of site but leads off the decking in the far left corner) and high tensile steel rope across the gaps in the balustrade 8) All in all it's given us another 6-7ft on the end of the garden and makes for a great chill out area for those long summer evenings - will be even better after the weekend as I've acquired a beer fridge to keep in the shed (fully stocked of course  ) Sorry to go off topic - the driveway looks great ;) :D
  8. It's OK but as said above I think standard is best... I prefer the C's fogs and indicators to the mk3 ones too :?
  9. I think there is a slight on off rubbing sound - like pads on disk at higher speeds but again more so when turning right... will jack the corner up and have a look when I get a chance - annoying thing is that I had it up yesterday and clean forgot about the noise until I drove it later - typical  I hope it's not too serious as it's going to eat in to my tuning budget :(
  10. Love that mk3 - in one of the best colours too ;) Daily driver looks like a right laugh 8)
  11. When turning right at low speeds my front left wheel is making a very odd noise... I can't make up my mind whether it sounds like a metallic grinding/rubbing noise or the sound of spring tension being released... either way it's not constant and my first guess is a warped disc as it stops and starts as the wheel goes round :? It's quite worrying as it seems to be getting worse/louder... also strange that I only get this sound when turning right! So any ideas? The car will be off to The Phirm in a week or so so I can get it looked at then but could do with some suggestions in the mean time...

A 90 or 91 C should have early wings, slam pannel, bonnet etc so your lights should fit fine :? Maybe they're late lights then? ~ I have a pair of early's for sale if that's of any interest... Get some pics up - will help identify the problem...
  13. Sorry to hear about this - best of luck getting something sorted :?
  14. My head says Saab but my heart says Alfa... tough decision but I think looks would win it for me and I'd have the Alfa 8)
  15. Washed mine ready to tuck it away in it's new home - just got to wait for the battery to fully charge... oh and will take it for the vital blast around some of Surrey's finest country roads before it's laid to rest 8) Mav, I've got an ariel for sale if you want it...
  16. Second car... really only pull it out for meets, shows and for a nice balst on a sunny dry day :D Ideally I want to get it garaged, save some money and take it to the next level - have a few plans up my sleve but need about £6K to pull it off 8) Daily hack is a 10 month old Passat (new shape) and while it isn't the fastest car in the world it holds it's own and is bloody comfy to drive...

Sounds like you have early lights on a late car! Basiclly the early units are smaller in the glass and surrounds but the main part of the headlight is the same... all you'll need to do is buy new glass and surrounds for the late type and you'll have it spot on again!
  18. Due to the problems with the forum yesterday - please see my post above as the starting post of this thread.... :? Has anyone done this and had sucess? Would like to see some pics of repaired ones so I can see how obvious it is when used...
  19. I'd be guessing at the clutch but am suprised if it's realtively new :? Clutch smell is a strange rotting burning veg smell IIRC from owning a battered old Ford Sierra with a knackered clutch when I was 18... I don't have a clue if I'm right but it could be worth talking to the people that did the clutch and getting it checked
  20. Fingers crossed mate... hope to god that you're sorted now :D
  21. Blimey what a little one you have  Is there any difference to a normal battery except size and weight?

    Car covers?

I've been considering one myself especially as I'm about to rehome it at my girlfriends folks place so will only get to play with it once a week at the most over the winter... My concern is how breathable are they as I'd hate to end up with more rust and damaged paint from trapping moisure under the cover which IMO is unavoidable :?
  23. Hello and welcome Claire (you spell your name the same way as my girlfriend!) Lovely looking G! Your splitty and notch both look really nice too... have always wanted a split screen camper 8)

IMO a nice set of porsche rims would suit your colour Kev 8) Whats happened to Nick anyway?
