I'd restore it to former glory (yes door handles too :lol: ) and keep the colour! Has the pannel behind the door been reshaped to allow you to open the doors? Looks like there's a gap that shouldn't be there :?

Where are you based? tbh I'd recomend that you go in to see a decent mechanic with full diagnostics and see if the engine is thowing up any error codes... This will certainly show if your throttle position sensor is working properly! I've had untold problems with mine and from my experience you will end up spending a lot of money before you get to the root of the problem unless you go and get the ECU scanned... HTH

Lets not forget the fact that what ever it is it has some pretty rocking rims! And you... yes you! can buy a set of even nicer 17'' versions from me Mr K for only £300 and that includes tyres... CRAZY! (please excuse the plug - I tried to keep it subtle :lol: )

Interior looks very nice mate... did it come with the car or did you put it in yourself? If you have added it since you got the car what did you do about the centre armrest mounting point?

They're quite easy to make using a standard VW jack and a skateboard wheel... Haven't used one myself and I'm sure it's all about taking your time with this kind of thing - top tip is to use a heat gun to soften the paint as you go! Some people have still experienced cracking even with this though :?
