The metal behind isn't flat so yeah would look dodge IMO... Due to the way the clips at the bottom work you need to push down rather than pull away from the back btw
-
Is it an early or a late dash? I don't know if it makes any difference but the more info the better... I'd prob start with removing the stereo, heater controls, clocks etc and have a good look for screws! Personally I'm not keen on painted dash inserts and think they can look very tacky if a dodgy colour...

Now you mention it... don't worry I'll get the guy that sold 'em to me

PMSL  Seriouisly though that is bad news. A mans car is as sacred as his lady - I'm gutted for you and I know that if that happened to me I'd deal with it outside of the law! ... however if he's already trashed her car, been to court and now started on yours then I'd say that the police is really the only way forwards - for a start you want a restraining order put on him and then have him back in court for both your golf and your Mrs co' car! He's obviously a messed up f**ker and a kicking will only antagonise him further (even if it does give you satisfaction) Best of luck getting this sorted

I didn't think the rear number plate surround was screwed on tbh... I had one off a C in a scrappy a while ago it was only held on with sticky pads - that was an early model though so it may be different on the late ones. I haven't had mine off though so can't be sure! Maybe a pic to show what you mean would help :?

Worth having a look here too
-
Looking good matey... how much did the magnex set you back and how much have you got (cat back?) Need to get a new center section and wondering if it's worth fitting stainless! Look forward to having a proper look at the w/e only saw it from a distance at andi's 8)

Yes it's fine to take it out... you'd have to disconnect the car from it before you charge it anyway! Have fun :D

Car accident within 48 hours of E38.. update PG3
Phil K replied to bristolbaron's topic in General Car Chat
Bugger - sorry to hear your bad news! My C has decided it needs a new centre section for the exhaust in a desperate bid to stop me going to e38 (it'll never work though) Spose the slightly good side is that your car will be a lot easier to recognise at the show now ;) -
Thanks for the comments... really happy with the way it's looking now and can't help but look back at it once it's park and I'm walking away! Next on the "to do list" is the center section of the exhaust which had started blowing and got a lot worse last night :?

Couple more from my phone (carp quality)
-
You still get 3 points for doing it if you're caught AFAIK... I spend a lot of time driving for my job and I see so many people driving on phones - yesterday I was cut up by someone pulling out of a junction which was a no right turn while using their mobile! I beeped and he stuck his finger up at me - what a nice chap
-
 yeah yeah I know - just wanted a quick pic when i got home from work... will be sorting some better pics once I've washed it and have a half decent location
-
Now sitting 60mm lower and all the better for it :D I don't know why VW didn't supply them at this height from new - it looks as though it should be this height IMO! Oh and a very big thanks to randal as he did most of the hard graft 8) (more pics to come once it's a bit cleaner)
-
Nice looking C you've got there - I've always said that grey is the best colour... which shade is it?
-
Can't fault mine for anything except the engine ;) I've had an absolute nightmare with my engine from day 1 although admitedly this is because it had a KR bottom end in it (which I didn't know until I had to replace it for a new one) It is now a complete 9A engine and I still have issues with it... in that I can't take it over 4K in the rev range as it mis-fires badly - under 4K though it does have a massive amount of tourque so once it is sorted it should fly 8) It's going to Vince after E38 to get it fully sorted! When I spoke to Vince he did say it is the worst of all the VAG engines to fault find though so maybe not ideal if you want to do all your own work :?

I've got the FK's and tbh I think they're fine... not had any issues with leaking or the lenses misting up... think it can be luck of the draw with things like this as I've seen some pretty poor examples of both the inpro and FK ones
-
Holy sh1t  Gutted for you - would go mental if this happened to mine  Best of luck getting it sorted

whoooop whoooop - good news... bet you're pleased to have it running again! 8) -
Nice clean looking ride there Mr... best colour by far too (I'm sure at least one more mod will be with me on this ;) ) Looks about the same height as mine too 8)

Is that the same front splitter that J has on his? Whats it off again? Looking f'in great though... looking forward to seeing her at the show :D -
hello and welcome - your C looks like it gets used well 8)
-
Is that a blanking cap for where the poverty spec window winders once went? Would seem a little odd if it had manual windows yet full leather :? Looks like a great base for a project though - good luck with it 8)

I think cruise control was only offered to the American market (lets face it you can't really use it in the UK) I can see the point in having the right rest if with CC and tbh find it quite a good place to rest my foot when stationary... I thought all C's had a left rest too - mine does and you can't get your foot to it when wearing skate shoes
