right i think i've narrowed it down to the radio loom and the window regulater, the car is pulling 200ma when stood with everything off which is way to much it should be more like 50ma at the most, when i pull the fuse for the radio it drops to 120ma and when i pull the fuse for the window regulater it drops to 20ma,now i said its the radio loom because it is pulling 80ma without the radio pluged in,checked for good earths and they seem to be fine and every thing works fine so i'm a bit stuck now??

oil temp/presure switch on the oil filter housing??

deffenatly not the fan so it must be a dodgy earth,so is there an easy way to check these or is it just a case of going round and checking them all.
-

yep mine broke taking it off,it was the little rubber nuts that broke the plastic posts of the back of the panel when i was undoing them.
-
well according to etka the agu has the same conrods as the bam tt engine which has the 20mm wrist pins :?

:) that was probably me mate, work just opposite there, sorry i didnt see you

i think there dealer only mate and there about £70 each if i'm not mistaken,if your costing the job up mate have a look at my for sale add cos im selling mine.
-
its not the drive shafts that you need it's the drive flanges out of the gearbox that need changing and you use your drive shafts.
-
its not the crank which is the problem realy its the con rods if you go for a 150 engine go for the agu as this has the bigger rods in it same as the bam tt engine and the big valve head, they have 20mm wrist pins where as the others only have 18mm ones.like kev says though it has got the higher compression so it probably would need lowering if you were considering a ihi turbo.
-

i know its a bit late for you paul but a tip for spot welding without having to drill all the holes, take the shroud of your torch or get a spare one and just cut 4 groves in it so it looks like a castleated nut then put it back on turn the amps up on the welder put the torch over where you want to weld so that it is toucing the job and put the trigger, saves alot of time and effort.

i've got some nice 100x50 box in the garage better strap that to the bottom of the car when i do mine then??

yes the brembo's definatly improve the braking without a question. as for the intercooler i made it myself to fit the car without having to cut or chop anything to fit it in and a lot cheaper, this is the onlypic i realy have showing it hope it helps 8)
