  1. looking at the ford invoice it shows 7364573 & was £32.50+vat, hope that helps :) That's great - thanks :)
  2. Great colour g0ldf1ng3r  Do you have the Ford part number for the valve by any chance?
  3. Sorry posted on the other thread and didn't realise one of your front braided hoses is knackered. You need front hoses for a late 95 on Golf VR6 which have the 288's fitted as standard.
  4. Steve, buy a set of Goodridge late Golf VR6 hoses, you can fit the 4 rear ones and I'll buy the 2 fronts with banjo fittings off you for my 288's.
  5. Yeh, I've got the Kestrel and it's a D/A, very happy with it, same fitting as the Meg's one and if you shop around you can get it for less here like I did. http://www.fishermotorfactors.co.uk/product-10928.wtl
  6. Another good alternative is to just buy late Mk 2 Golf levers which fit and are curved to allow the seat belt to be pulled forward slightly and hooked over them making the belt easier to reach. I've taken off the originals and done this for that very reason :)
  7. Cheers tedman - much appreciated, your very obviously a blackberry lover :)
  8. Knew you wouldn't settle for anything less Wendy :)
  9. thats a real decent price but 1500 miles is way to small for me. im 21 would i qaulify for classic car insurance? It,s the car that qualifiesbut obviouslty the will take your age and driving record into consideration. It's really meant for 2nd "classic" cars and not daily drivers :)
  10. Neither Wendy, got to be one of Stuttgart's finest :)
  11. Try http://www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk/ I reckon you could easly reduce your limited mileage and get future classic with these cheaper. I pay £175, agreed value and limited to 1500 miles per annum and it doesn't cost much to increase the mileage if you need to.
  12. A CCGB committee member had a limited number of these made up about 5 years ago for the club - the company might still have the template but it might be a good idea to check with KIPVW and see if he's happy for the design to be used as it has the club logo on it. I've still got 2, not for sale though :)
  13. Good one - any chance of a group buy
  14. You can get a nice shine just using a mildly abrasive polishing compound and to keep it don't use an abrasive polish afterwards and they'll stay looking good. I've only just resprayed mine after about 5 years as I thought the yellow was beginning to overtake the red, so that'll give you an idea. Tip for you, Halfords thinnest pinstripe tape is perfect for masking off the black middle sections :)
  15. I don't use laquer Leon, if you put enough coats on you won't need it - I used about 6. 800 will be ok, I used it to do this a couple of weeks ago, just make sure you use plenty of soapy water and probably worth going over the whole light with 1500 or 2000 afterwards to give a good key and remove any swirls or marks caused by the 800 :)
  16. That's ok, thought there was some subtle difference in the text that I couldn't see :)
  17. Neither am I  Am I missing something or isn't that the attachment I posted then you wrote it in your post
  18. Ahem :ignore:  Yeah Bill Hate your Blackberry on RS's  But you know what I mean by "Just" Rs's? Yes I do Jon, I really like the CH's too :) although I'd like to see Zak's on the RS's sitting alongside mine at a show - could do some great mirror image pics
  19. Attached the reset instructions Albie, think you just omitted to turn the ignition off. What you have to bear in mind too is that this alarm is no longer Category 1 status and is not approved by insurance companies so if your car gets stolen they probably won't pay out.
  20. I think I've still got the original instructions, I'll have a look tonight and scan them for you.
  21. Also set the heater to the hot position so that the heater matrix fills up otherwise you can get an airlock there.
  22. I used to use black shoe polish on my big bumper Mk2 Golf and it worked a treat and lasted forever once you put some bumper care or whatever on top :)
  23. If you don't mind cutting a bit of foam out of the door panel backing using the crossover as a template you can put them there with double sided trim tape or like and then you only have to remove the door panels. Just make sure you pick a spot where there's a gap in the metal on the inside of the door :)
