  1. VAG dealers normally have a master key for these - failing that these should do the job :) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/IRWIN-Bolt-Grip-F ... 240%3A1318

    Fuel Cap Rusted

I would also suggest that you remove the rubber boot and clean out behind it as that area is a real dirt trap and it builds up and stays wet which is probably adding to the rust problem.
  3. Hi, There are 2 screws at either end of the door panel ( may be covered with black screw caps) and 1 in the speaker housing (you need to prise off the speaker grill to get to it). Remove these 5 screws, unscrew the door pin, prise out the centre piece of trim on the door pull and then remove the 2 screws in the door pull. Next slide the surround on the door handle forward and remove it. You can now remove the door panel (gently so that you don't break any press in clips) then unplug all the swich looms from the main looms. All you have to do then is peel the plastic liner back at top, undo the 2 screws on the old mirror, fit the new one with the gasket underneath and put everything back that you removed in reverse order :) Good luck, but it is pretty straightforward, only awkward thing is putting the panel back on and trying to line up the rod with the hole that the door pin screws onto. HTH :)
  4. Cracking pictures Chris but my vote's with tedman too :)
  5. Most consistent smug so and so Steve  only jealous on those 2 points though :)
  6. I love it too but don't think we'd be happy only being able to go quickly in straight lines :)
  7. Don't you get bored driving that distance at a constant 56 mph
  8. Sounds exactly like my policy with Hagerty for my VR Jim, all mods declared, agreed value, premium £187 :D http://www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk/
  9. Brand new set of timing chain replacement parts for sale here, you could ask how much labour is on it's own. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=76609
  10. There's a really comprehensive "how to" on the Gruvenparts site :)
  11. Hi Mike, Did a "how to" for the Wiki but don't think you can access it at the mo. Managed to find the original thread where I wrote it. http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... 19&t=56333 HTH, Bill
  12. Only worth what someone's willing to pay and if you want to test that best thing is to stick it on the bay I'd like one but wouldn't pay silly money for one and it would have to be in good, original condition i.e. not polished, number intact etc :)
  13. It's fairly easy. You can undo the bolts with an allen key, the torque setting's only something like 16 ft/lbs IIRC. I used a tool which has a 1/2" socket one end with a hexagonal shaft and a ball at the other end which allows you to undo an allen bolt with the tool at an angle. The only other thing is the throttle body which is fairly easy to remove. Probably worth fitting a new manifold and throttle body gasket too. HTH
  14. Don't think so Roger, I changed mine about 5 years ago without using any compound and have had no leaks. Think the most important thing is tightening the bolts in the correct sequence - diagonally IIRC to the correct torque. HTH, Bill
  15. Nice one Dave, it just gets better and better

    B&M Quick Shift

James, slightly off topic but can these be fitted from inside the car without having to remove the exhaust?
  17. And there I was thinking of offering you my RS301's at a knockdown price but there wouldn't be any point at all now Michael would there? Even if you do sell I hope you stay on the vw circuit, and whoever buys the car will be getting one of the best C's around.
  18. From what I can see all models including the 4motion use the same calipers.
  19. Hi Paul. Had a quick look on ETKA and I reckon there's about 6 plugs that go directly into the fusebox so should be very simple to replace and in case you didn't know all the plugs can only fit one socket on the fusebox. HTH, Bill Very worrying when that happens as it burns out very quickly before you can do anything . It happened to me on the headlight switch loom!
  20. I guess you could always grind the caliper down slightly if need be, but you wouldn't really want to after the powder coat :) I'm refurbing some 288's at the moment and they'll be going under 17's but I will want to use the speedlines at some point so I'll probably trial fit them and grind the caliper down or even have them milled properly if I have to before painting them.
  21. Too cheap  IMHO if it seems too good too be true then it usually is :)
  22. You know it makes sense, that will be one special car with those goodies on :)
  23. Both, you just need to be a bit more patient
  24. Looks great Chris, brings back memories of Asim's moonlight stunner :)
  25. Abridge Loughton is a TPS centre Jon and you'd get a good deal if you could blag membership, I live half a mile from Abridge Harlow but they don't give discount which is why I use Sheppards :)
