  1. Went to Sheppards in Bishops Stortford today to buy a load of parts and they asked me if I was in the Corrado Club duly discounted everything I bought by 10%, and 50% off a battery (cost me £27.54 + vat) as they are getting rid of Varta stock as they are no longer designated a trade centre due to the new TPS setup. Great service and nice friendly guys too who seem to have an interest in the older VW models which is in complete contrast to most VW dealers .
  2. Is there a tax on that?
  3. I'm just waiting to see who'll take the bait from E38 and register on here to retaliate
  4. Spot on Jim, I remember seeing a test on Top Gear where they tried new tyres front and and then on the rear on a FWD car and tested the handling. Their verdict was to put the new ones on the rear, and you could actually see the car handling better on the test track when they did this.

Grey are fine. These are Autostyle premium with leather bound edging and logo in the colour of your choice - about £90 though I think. The originals are for sale on e-bay for £58.
  6. Hi Dave, Have a look at this site http://the-polisher.tripod.com/id6.html
  7. Just had a pair of these calipers delivered today, won on ebay - they are so heavy compared to the standard 280's Will degrease first then sandblast, new seals then paint and fit. Will probably go with Black Diamond grooved discs - anyone using these and what pads would you recommend with them?
  8. A bit later Paul, you'll need your torch by now :) - but yes
  9. Hi Paul, First thing I'd check is inside the rubber boot where the loom comes through into the tailgate - years of opening nd closing can cause a break in the wires there.
  10. Here's one to give you an idea of how far they sit out in relation to the body.
  11. Welcome, try this first :) http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.p ... _Checklist
  12. Absolutely correct Steve, I've run 15's, 16's and now on 17's and the loss of ride quality is quite noticeable going from 16's to 17's - IMHO 16's with 205 - 45 x 16 tyres are the best compromise. Like I always say 16's for "Go" and 17's for "Show" :D Oh and welcome, great colour and really low mileage - mine's on 59k and I thought that was low
  13. Try these http://www.hagertyinsurance.co.uk/ I have an agreed value limited mileage policy with them. They are actually specialist classic car insurers rather than standard companies that offer agreed value policies and they cover the Corrado under "future classic", - cheap too :D
  14. How about this Ben? Item number: 310043646859 on the bay!
  15. Are you sure the centre bore of the wheel is the correct size and doesn't need a spigot ring?
  16. Hi Michael, Looking good - as ever :) Spooky but I've been doing some work today in the same area. Fitted a new plastic trim to the handbrake lever and fitted one of Dave's16v polished surrounds and I was just thinking I could do with maybe fitting a new leather handle. Are these still available and if so how much did it cost?
  17. Check out this car which is one of, if not the best silver (and any other colour for that matter) example around and now owned by MK1campaign. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4979&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&hilit=osv
  18. I pin-striped mine with Savage tint spray rather than Folia Tec after smoothing off the lettering and have had no probs with 3 MOT's. You can apply a thin coat after this and the light will still flash orange. From what I've seen of other people's experience the consensus seems to be that Savage is the preferred choice.
  19. Forgot one thing Jon - open both windows :D
  20. Think I might have his addy on my home PC Nikki, I'll PM you later.
  21. Jim, there's a product called Muck Off which I think is mainly for bikes which will get all the oily bits clean and if you don't mind a bit off elbow grease use scotch brite scouring pads to shine it up - I used to use these when I had a 16v golf and the give a good result without compromising the original finish.
  22. Think that might be Paul from Glasgow Nikki if it was a storm. Think he is LPF33 on here.
  23. Mine's 60mm rear and 45mm front on coilies and it does rub the inner wheel arch occasionally on the front. Some people have removed this but doesn't do much for rust protection. Got 17's on but it also rubbed with 16's :)
