  1. Have just been having a look at your photos Rob. They are fantastic! Love the photography mate. Am gonna put a hyper link on the KGOC web page, as im sure the members would appreciate some of them shots you have taken. Nice one.
  2. Thanks dude. Likewise, good to meet you @ Edition and appreciate in the flesh just how awesome your VR is... OSV is a seriously cool car 8) and a credit to you! Hundreds! But you got to bring OSV to Stanford Hall next year in May to see them! Seriously tho, yeah i will post some up when i get my new computer. This one im using is slower than watching paint dry i tell ya!
  3. yep, they do go for some ridiculous amounts as i have known all my life! Was lucky enough to bag a bargain and get myself one just over a year ago. Never thought the day would come! Some of you guys have seen this car as i brought it Malvern this year. As for "performance" Well how can i put it?... Its not slow, but it aint quick either. For what it is, and its age, its pretty zippy and holds its own on the motorway, around 70-80. (In the slow lane that is) but with a car like this, it really isnt about speed and power (leave that to the VR) btw Tempest am still waiting to see them pics from Osnabruck.
  4. Was gonna suggest this idea too! Especially if you can stretch to the new one that is designed for use with your ipod. You can actually connect the pod to it, and control it entirely from the head unit. Not sure how much they are at the moment tho.
  5. Zippy's right... believe it or not, Halfrauds actually CAN often be cheaper than many smaller places, especially when you take into account that they will fit the whole lot for you in the price. You need to take a trip down there and find the most helpful person in there and see what they can recommend for you. Occasionally, they really are helpful. Good Luck.
  6. have you tried coming face to face yet with this prick since it happened?
  7. PMSL @ all the various suggestions as to what do about this guy. they all sound like great ideas. The computer club one and full fat milk one had me in stitches tho. Seriously tho... The guy can not be allowed to get away with it, no matter how you deal with it. A hiding is a great idea but really, you dont want him to recover and then come back 6 months later only to do it again. I think i would try and get him to own up, and get the thing sorted and paid for so it hits him in his wallet. Sabbotaging his website also sounds like a great idea, as does beating the crap out of him, like in Goodfellas. Whatever you do, do not let him get away with it. You know its him, he knows its him.
  8. other than that, just a "Full service" then?
  9. $h1t man, thats a bummer! not that theres ever a good time for this to happen, but what bad timing! Feck it, screw the old bar-steward hard on the old insurance... and dont forget the impact knocked your neck a little and you feel all sore and whiplashed!
  10. ok me being the saddo and all that..... i kept a record of the quotes i had at renewal time (on spreadsheet at that!) earlier this year... hope it helps... Quotes based on a failry high risk postcode, 29 years old, Full NCB and a sp30. I also volunteered a slightyly higher excess to bring the premium down. its true, you dont have to be posh to have the privilege...
  11. i thought the same thing... are these what in a normal car would be cambelts? I ask this because i suggested it to Lion, but they were ranting on about them being metal and not usually a requirement. :?
  12. Well, the VR is approaching 98 thousand miles, and really just wanted some advice off you guys as to anything important to look out for or servicing etc. Lion Garage in Leicester (Local VW 'Specialist') said that it should have a "FULL SERVICE" which costs around £200  Dont really know whether i should give it to them or use Stealth etc? Really just wanted to get advice on what to make sure i do or check to keep the car running sweet, and avoid any major costs cos i didnt do something when i should have.
  13. average according to the 2nd trip thing on the computer shows 25 :(!!! with a heavt right foot, its way under that, as is driving around town etc. on the motorways with steady cruising, i can get mid to high thirties. (btw, the car a 2.9VR with Magnex system and K&N Induction kit.)
  14. what sort of mileage and service history you got with it? also, have you got all the bits before you modded it?
  15. try and get the car up on a ramp if you can cos it can be a bit tight under there!
  16. i've got the same dilema as you NjA666. thing is, i dont want to rush it and get someone doing a bodge job. At the same time, the more i look at it, the more i see bits all over that make me think a full job will be better than lots of patching and blending type work. Theres a guy in Leicester that is supposedly quite good, and does lots of this type of work. Gonna go see him and show him the car and see what his feedback is.
  17. Mine was making a crappy noise, and the mechanic just yanked it off after a bit of too-ing and fro-ing. Its the best thing really. I wouldnt waste your time and money on trying to make sure you have this part in place. Get it yanked off.
  18. nice pictures Musicman I see you saved the best for last with that great picture of N8 VRG. nice. 8) 8)

    C**TS !!

i got an idea... make real good friends with the guy, tell him all is forgiven, and then, bring him to along Edition 38 to meet other Corrado owners... we would all really love to meet the guy in person.
  20. i would try changing the plugs first as its one of the cheaper options.
  21. Yes that was me mate. I thought this was you when reading various threads. posted this earlier: http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... &start=165 Took the Mrs' car as we were going to leave it at Eurostar car park, and didnt want to risk leaving the VR there over 3 days. But boy did i miss the VR on the motorway after the traffic cleard up! The poor little beetle just has nothing to offer in the power department! Anyway... have u decided whether you are coming to Edition? Have a read of this if you aint sure... then decide to come, cos i really want to take a closer look at that motor you were driving! Really looked sweet! http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26392
  22. looks a cracker mate. very nice, and well worth the wait. I bet it looks well good on the move. Height looks fine to me too.

    C**TS !!

Sorry to read this mate, really am. I feel gutted for you. I have experienced things like this happening. Not to my C, but to my mums car and its a horrible feeling. The thing i didnt have was an idea of who did it. I wish i did, cos the lads were more than willing to go round and introduce their baseball bats to the culprits' knees. The thing is, i know where you are coming from when you say you dont want things to escalate, plus there is the fact that you are more likely to get into trouble with the law than they are. But definitley have a word with them, and tell them that you know they did it or something along those lines. Again mate, truly sorry to read this. Hope it gets sorted soon.
  24. L*** EKP. Red VR6. Gavin right? Saw you on the M20 and was trying to tell you to come to Edition. Car looked sweet and sounded even sweeter! Its awesome to hear a VR with an induction kit being driven hard, cos then i know what mine sounds like from the outside! Nice one mate.
