  1. Right, having consulted the instruction manual, this is the coolant temperature. and it has been very high. there seems to be plenty of liquid in the round expansion tank. i dont get it. fans are working, and there is lots of liquid in the system. therefore, its not all leaked and pissed away, and neither is it cos the fans dont come on. Could it be cos the concentration should have more "coolant" and less water content? Im stuck!
  2. Havent had this problem before. The needle on the far left of the instrument goes very very high, and after a while the red temperature light comes flashing on. When i opened the bonnet, both fans were working (at a very high speed) I dont get it. What is overheating? Is it the water, or the oil? There is no steam or anything like that... what should i do / check?
  3. By the way Jim, remember not to turn into a typical "new golf" driver. All the ones round here see a Corrado and its as though they are programmed to prove that they have got a quick car, and they have to show every other road user that they can drive fast! GTi drivers I find are the worst.
  4. I wouldnt worry too much about the mileage on that car dude. My uncle has one with something like 160k on the clock, and barring usual minor repairs, it has been great. I drive it now and then, and it still goes well, drives and feels like a car that has done only 50k. Good luck 2 u with it mate.
  5. Is there a decent conversion for the rear wiper?
  6. im the same mate. ever since the first time i sat in one i knew one day i just had to have one. The thing now is, i dont ever want to part with it!
  7. Welcome dude... and Well done on choosing a Corrado!

  10. need to find the thief, and repeatedlycrack his knuckles with the said Aerial. them things bloody hurt! I used to take mine off and leave it in the house when i didnt have a garage, cos ive had them go missing before. One day my sister decided to pick it up and smack me with it "for a laugh" They bloody hurt!
  11. I dont like it cos its a Honda. Prefer the 350z. A friend of mine test drove the Z and said it reminded him alot of the Corrado. I wanted to punch him, but let him off, cos i know he was trying to pay the C a compliment.
  12. Are TT's supposed be able to beat a VR6? I was coming back on the Motorway late last night, and there was this git in a TT. It only had 1 exhaust, so its the lower output model, but he just couldnt get anywhere near me. Everytime he put his foot down, i did the same, and just left him as a smaller and smaller dot in my mirror. It seemed too easy :? . are they really that slow?
  13. HENNY, love the "Henry Hoover" Picture. Its a cracker.
  14. not at all FLA. thats what this Forum is all about dude.
  15. this is one of my all time "wanted" cars. One day!!!!!!!
  16. Dave, i'll back you up to say that they werent there, cos i have seen your car. Defo take this through the insurance.
  17. its not the cam shaft position sensor is it? I had replaced mine on the rolling road say at stealth and it worked wonders.

  19. another tip, (although it might be late now) When you've got a bolt that just wont undo, try tightening it a little first. it really then should be easier to undo. This sounds ludacris i know, cos you think that you are making it tighter and therefore harder for yourself, but in actual fact, you are breaking the jammed threads, and it will then undo quite easily.
  20. i dont think that i have pad wear indicators on mine. Or at least ive never had indication of any wear. where is the ABS sensor?
  21. cool. i have only ever done the brakes on my 1974 Beetle, and assume that its a similar operation on the VR? are there any sensors or things like that to be detached?
  22. so far sounds ok. in terms of tools... do i need anything unusual to do the job?
  23. these bolts that fit the carrier to the hubs that are done up tight, are they likely to sheer?
