  1. Welcome mate. Im sure you will find a good one with all the advice in this forum. BTW, they all have air filters... I think you meant something else. Got any pics of the Golf? Sounds nice.
  2. Yeah i hear u Bally, but cant be bothered to go just for the day. I have been before and think that the Saturday night thing just makes the whole event. Might still go along on the Sunday. U going?
  3. Welcome to the forum and Corrado ownership mate. I wish i had a Corrado when i was 18. At that time you could go into a dealers and sit in one! And thats about as close as i got back then! (I guess I dont care now cos i have the car of my dreams and thats what matters more!) Admire your determination too, to pay that much insurance. You can try and bring it down by opting for a slightly higher excess. Nice lookin motor mate. Are you gonna bring it to Edition 38?
  4. would love to go to this but can only make it on the Saturday night onwards. Aint payin £35 per person for a night and half a day tho. They ought to have a ticket that allows you in after a certain time on Saturday evening and for the Sunday. Loads of people ive spoken to are in the same position as me. Ah well! Roll on Edition38!
  5. Does anyone know KIP VW's user name on this, or KIP, if u r browing this right now, PM me please, as i wanna ask you something about what we were discussing at Malvern the other w/e. Thanx. Del.

those wheels do look spot on mate. Nice colour too. How does it ride with them wheels? I take it they are 17's?
  7. My younger cousin sent this link as he knows im well into Corrados. (He thought i would like this car too. Bless him!) Although, i have to say, with a more subtle paint job (i.e. midinght blue!) and without the rear "Too fast Too furious" spoiler, it would look half decent. I quite like the wheels and the 'low-down' look. Not a fan of all the other "Max Power" stylee mods like the single wiper, bonnet vents and chrome fuel filler door etc. Still! Each to their own. On the second picture, at least 3 people look well impressed! http://auta5p.car.cz/katalog/volkswagen ... ado_04.jpg http://auta5p.car.cz/katalog/volkswagen ... ado_05.jpg
  8. Of course, all air cooled VW's, but also, VR6 with Magnex system & K&N induction kit. (My mates neighbour thought i had a VW with some sort of TVR enging in it once! Nice compliment I thought) Likewise, all TVR's, Air cooled 911's driven hard, and all V8's.
  9. speaking of Insurance, (trying not to digress too much off the topic subject) I was told yesterday that a VR6 is a group 20? Surely its not that high is it?
  10. My answer to the question in the title: WRONG.
  11. 17's look great, but bare in mind, and this is just from the advice i got when i was changing wheels, that 17's may give you quite a harsh ride, and also 16's "apparently" suit the handling better than 17's. On the flip side to that arguement, there are loads of owners in this forum running 17's and they are the best people to say how 17's feel on the car. I have only had 15's and 16's on mine, and have to say the differnence is unreal on cornering, although you do a pay a price on the comfort factor. Just my 2'ps worth.! hope it helps!
  12. Yeah, its a strange kind of sound, cos you can almost avoid it either by fethering the brakes or taking reversing very very slowly. As i say, mine is only at parking speeds, and tends to happen on full or just below full lock and then again when the wheels are turned the other way, and the car moves forward, so you get the the clunk.
  13. mine does the same thing. Its only when, say, im reversing on full lock, and then turning back the other way. Its only been happening since the car was lowered. its a horrible sound at that. no-one knows what it is tho. im confused.
  14. F@@kin' love the analogy kevhaywire Spot on! Take a bow!
  15. VR6 Magnex full Stainless System. Bought from Fine Wine Begian Chocs (from this forum) Reason: I like the look of the oval tip, it looks stock but also looks slightly uprated. It only sounds loud and boomy when you floor the throttle, otherwise you wouldnt notice that you have a "loud" exhaust. Cost... i cant remember, but it was a good deal, from one Corrado man to another.
  16. welcome mate. corrado - good choice mate. if you cant afford a VR, get a valver or a charger for now then may be look around for a good VR in the meantime. Thats what i did and it worked perfectly for me. That way you still got a great looking and handling car while you are looking for something that looks as good, handles as good, and will go a hell of a lot faster! I agree with Red Leicester by the way. only its not red. its orange.
  17. I hear you Dr Mat. I had this leak a while back. the hose under the plastic cover, and it goes all over the hot parts of the engine making the car look like theres something funky going on under the hood... I only say that this time round there dont seem to be any leaks as the water bottle level has been constant, and parked the car on a dry garage floor and there hasnt been any water underneath after. What do you think to the idea of running the enging with the lid off the water bottle?
  18. i think there is no antifreeze in there. A few months ago the tank was empty and the light started flashing so i topped it up with H2O and it had been fine until now. So im guessing that only water is circulating around the system. Im still puzzled where the water went that time, as there doesnt seem to be any leaks.
  19. Would it be worth running the enging with the cap off the water coolant tank to let any air bubbles bleed themselves out of the system? I remember my mechanic doing that once with a jug of water in his hand, topping it up at the same time. Cant remember the exact process and whether the engine was hot or cold ot the time.
  20. Ok folks, i have checked both of those hoses that are at the side of the radiator, and they are both pretty much hot. Whats the next step?
  21. by the way, its SODDING TYPICAL that the day i get my repaired Borbet Alloy wheels back from being repaired, that this happens! Oh well, at least i will be sitting in traffic, overheating and $hitting in my pants staring at the temperature gauge with nice 16 inch alloys back on!
  22. well, as i rememeber, a few months back, the light used to flash but the temperature was fine. At that time, i remember the bowl shaped tank looked very low, so i topped it up using just water. This stopped the light flashing completely. Its only now that the temp is going way too high, and then the light begins to flash. *del scratches his head*
  23. yep, i think on the way home tonight, thats what i will do. Just hope i dont have a crap journey with lots of traffic and all that crap you dont need when your car aint behaving as it should! Cheers for the advice 'saysomestuff'.
