  1. I got a K&N 57i, and am wondering if it really makes THAT much difference? It makes a hell of a sound tho. I do feel that i get a sluggish throttle response, and am working on the Heatshield, in the hope that it will improve matters. Nice pic quikstu.
  2. you know when you wish for something... then it really happens.... then you wish you never wished for it! well.... its been raining all day! and it looks like its gonna rain all week!!! ah well! have to say... the wipers work a treat, and its made a real worthwhile difference. Its one of them mods that you so wish you did ages ago! anyway.... cheers again daves16v.
  3. no wasnt me. ps, there may have been no pic as i had to shrink it and re attach it, as i accidentally took the pic on a high res. should be one there now.
  4. I have finally got the Lupo wipers that i have read about on various threads in the forum... (thanks for that bit of advice Dave) Just wanted to share with everyone how poor mine were before with this "before" picture. The passengers side blade was a good centimetre away from the windscreen in its highest position! By the way... I ordered the 2 arms / blade assemblies and the extra blade, as i was told you need to swap one of the blades, but i have fitted them as they were, and they seem fine. So i still have the spare blade as it was. Have i missed something or made a mistake somewhere? :shocked!: PS.... I hope it pisses it down on the way home tonight  Knowing sods law, it will be dry for the next 3 months! :(
  5. Eliot, i dont think its about the difficutly alone in making one... Alot of its to do with the time and hassle of making one especially having seen Dave at work carefully measuring up etc... and looking at the pic, it looks like a real good quality piece of kit. (Dave's a bit of a perfectionist i found!) I think that if you have the ability to make one that looks as good and professional as the one Dave has created, fair play to you. I know that if i tried, it wouldn't look anywhere near as good, and it would end up making my engine bay look a bit poor and tacky.
  6. I wanna see pics of your Beetle! Whats it like?
  7. Dave, is tomorow night any good? (Friday) That pic looks quite good by the way :Fade-color
  8. News on the Shields is... Dave is waiting for me to go over for a "fitting" woo-hoo! only thing is, i just cant seem to find the time to get over there! Dave.... Will try later this week if i can, but looking more and more like next week! Will keep u posted mate. Cheers. Del.
  9. dark blue 16v, 11 JTN. [with a tow bar!!] being driven so slow its unreal... entering into Nottingham last night. I had to overtake you mate, cos you were driving so slow on that windy road that just begs to be driven at a little speed. You pulled over as tho to let me go past, then flashed like you were pi$$ed off. Ah well!
  10. Was wondering if anyone else that drives a VR6 finds that they have to fill oil almost every month? Mine has 87k on the clock. When I last filled it up with oil, is it was almost empty, and that was a month ago. Since then i have driven about 1200 miles only, and yesterday checked and it was just as empty as last time. It doesnt particularly smoke from the exhaust, and there are no leaks. Where is the oil going? anyone got any clues? Cheers. Del.
  11. what wankers, to write on that lovley section of the wheel! i hope the brake dust permanently stains their finger tips.
  12. everyone... meet - - - > > red16v http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/profile.ph ... ile&u=2015 only lives down the road from me! at last a corrado owner that lives near by!
  13. I read this thread yesterday, and have been thinking about it, and all the different views people have... the way i see it, you are TOTALLY entitled to be vexxed the way in which you are! i would be exactly the same. No matter what, they are your wheels, your possesion, and whether they were dirty, clean, and regardless of the extent of the damage, it is bang out of order that someone comes along and writes on them, or touches them or does anything, other than look at them. how can anyone think that its ok to touch someone elses car like that! anyway... i hope that the damage is not unrepairable, and you DO find out who it was, and you DO have strong words with them... Afterall... if you dont, they are going to think that its ok to do what they have done and might do it to someone elses car. What has happened to you, is enough to put people off showing off their pride and joy to other like minded and appreciative enthusiasts.
  14. '94(L) Aqua Blue VR6 with FSH - 87k. Its surprising, when you get into a mates or family members newer car, with less mileage, yet it feels 10 years older than your Corrado! i guess alot of it has to do with the way the car is looked after. Still says alot about the build quality of this generation of VW's
  15. It looks like most Corrados owners have had a Golf Gti at some point in their lives. I sold my last one to a lad with a gti too! I Here are mine in order: VW Beetle 1303s (Never saw the road as it was a rust bucket - and i got conned... .head ruling the heart i think) VW Beetle 1200 Jeans Beetle colour. used for just over a year, then it failed the MOT, and was too much to repair. VW Beelte 1303s Sky Blue Metallic (still own)... this car is dying, as is it suffering from terminal rusting disease. A Micra! (given to me by my grandad, cos the beetle was always breaking down!) It was horrible. Got me around without breaking down tho, unlike the Beetles! Peugeot 306 D Turbo. (boring car!) F Reg Toyota Supra (how crap do they look on the roads nowadays!) Mk 2 Gti. 2 Door - White. Totally standard. Lots of fun. Still look back and think 'what a car!' Corrado 2.0 16v (was a nice car, but had been messed around and messed up with by the crafty cockney dealer that flogged it me and robbed me in the process!) 1303 Apple Green Beetle. (still own) Bought off a guy that had owned it all its life. Its a minter, but doesnt get driven enough cos its always raining! Will be taking it to Stanford Hall this year, hopefully along with the VR Corrado VR6. (current) and by a mile the best of the water cooled cars i have owned. Already cant wait to finish work and drive it!
  16. After all that.... i got the ones like the on Rica has got (i think!) ... they look about the same as the standard ones i.e frosted, and same shape etc, only they are clear instead of orange. Well pleased with them too cos they look like OE. Was an impluse buy from Halfords > > > 'Mistake!!' (they cost me £12.99!) way too much to spend on a little mod like this i think, cos you can get the same things on Ebay for £5.99 - there is a regular seller on there! Still, well pleased with the final result. Ah well! - hopefully someone else can benefit from my experience! where did u get your LED bulbs from Ka`?
  17. You are spot on about that, they do look yellow, especially since i had the loom and better bulbs.
  18. I agree totally with Jedi and Dazzy... leave it to the 'Bimmer / Clio / Corsa / list goes on... boys'. Although they do look nice on.... A: Mr Plod will not be happy, and when he does pull you, will treat you as though you ARE one of them boy racers, which means he wont be very friendly or sympathetic to anything you have to say. (I left mine on by mistake once, and the cop was a right git. I deserved it tho for leaving them on i guess!) B: Everyone else will look at you and think "boy racer" If you want more light, get the loom of Gav.
  19. Im sure that you can use just the fronts on their own, just as long as you have your healights on the first click at least. Its only when you switch the rears on that both front and rear ones come on together isnt it?
  20. Hi mate, It certainly is Oadby. (and you are right about there never being any spaces too!) Its often parked outside just opposite Boots. Do you live or work around here then?
  21. Its on lowered springs and lowered shocks. (Spax kit... well pleased with the ride too, its not at all bumpy or harsh)...40mm drop. Now that its done its done, but i really think the front looks too low. And from a practicality point of view, it IS too low. It catches every-bloody-where. Just a simple thing like coming out of a petrol station or going over even small speed bumps! You just have to be extra careful and slow thats all. I keep telling myself that its worth it, cos it corners like a dream, and i think it really is cos it looked terrible before and didnt drive anywhere near as nice as it does now. I could swap the front spoiler to a 50mm, but i like the menacing looks of the 90mm when you see it from the front. Have a look at this thread... it should ansa most of your questions mate. One thing i would say tho... whatever route you choose, lower it! http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5275
  22. I often see Corrados same colour as mine going the other way on the roads etc, and sometimes in car parks etc... But this is an absolute first... Came out of work today, and found the same car virtually as mine! Its also a VR6 and has the same standard alloys as mine. Only thing is, his was totally standard. Made me realise how high mine used to look. His was alot cleaner than mine too! If i knew, i'd have washed it for the picture!
  23. get the Porsche. They make sense. Im not a fan of the Boxter, but its a damn good car, and has hardly any depreciation. Just like a Corrado i guess!
  24. Pooky, have you fitted a Magnex yet?
