  1. This might sound a little dumb... but whats an induction heatshield, and what does it do? How does it benefit the car?

    bulbs on ebay

By the way... The bulbs that you started this thread off with.... I have a pair of these and i have fitted them and combined them with a loom supplied by Gavin. The results is totally excellent (to put it mildly!). I now look forward to driving home in the evenings and driving the car at night knowing that i can see the road ahead of me without upsetting our "Babylonian Friends" by having to use the fogs! And if u happen to get some tw@t hogging the fast lane  on the motorway, just flash at them with this conversion and watch them move out the way! It ranks as one of the best mods i have done to my car alongside the lowering :D and Magnex oval :D . I just wish Santa would come early and bring me a set of 16" alloys like Lenny's (Fine Wine Belgian Chocs) got on his!

    Ebay Mudflaps

yeah, i did wonder about that-->> i.e. they might look a little naff. u got me thinking now whether to bother with them or not. i thought they would make the car look more even with fronts as well as rears, but i take your point. i think i will try to mock fit them without actually making any major holes etc first b4 i decide. Thanx 4 the advice matey. Nice "emoticon" too!

    Ebay Mudflaps

I bought a set a few weeks ago and they fit great at the back. Havent fitted the fronts as yet cos they really will need to be screwed to the car. The rears are fitted on using clamps which are supplied with them and are pretty good too. Only problem in, cos the car is so low, they catch on everything!

    a4 headlights

has anyone in here actually gone the whole hog and fitted these yet?
  6. Kevhaywire wrote: Do you mean BMW's Ellipsoid lights? They're going back quite a few years now so maybe you meant something else? I think thats the ones. I have seen them fitted in the big bumpers of a few MkII Gti's in place of the normal fogs They look like a little glass dome about the size of a golf ball. wondered if any C owners have much experience of them with their Corrado? (quote thing was quoting everything in sight, so had to do it this way!)
  7. Thankyou! now i can at least talk about my headlights and use the correct terms! 8) Everydays a school day!
  8. Well Gavin, I would probably have one off you, although i dont like the idea of the lenses cracking with too much usage, mine are bad enough already  While on the subject of looms Gavin.... I find that the first click of the headlight switch (dipped beam i think!) it looks very dim and hardly any brightness at all. Its only when i click it to the 2nd click (the main beam??) that I get the proper nice bright light. Is this how its supposed to be? The difference is huge between the 2 settings. (Someones gonna say that they are supposed to be different and thats y there are 2 settings, but i just thought the difference is really quite big) Still well pleased with the loom and the improvement. has anyone seen these lights that look about the size and shape of golf balls? i think they have a name like "elyptical" or something like that.
  9. has anyone uprated or fitted front foglights other than standard? I find they are a bit yellow and dull especially now that i have got an uprated loom and the clearer whiter "ice blue" bulbs.
  10. H100VW Loom was supplied in good time, in perfect packaging, good instructions (including mobile phone number which came in handy when I needed a bit of fine tuning after fitting)....And it works an absolute treat. I have combined it with the high power xenon type bulbs off the bloke (in Canada!) selling them on Ebay. You just cant compare before and after since this. It is a TOTAL transformation. Anyone thinking of doing this mod, i cant recomend it enough. Like your other customers, i have nothing but praise for the product and your service.
  11. Leather seats! Hmmmm! i wish mine had leather seats. Did u see how much that set went for on Ebay!! People pay unreal amounts of money. That set had a rip and dodgy headrests as well! ah well... keep dreaming i guess...
  12. They are a rare sight, its true. Do you guys ever see one go past you on the roads, and think 'wow, what a good looking car' then get a happy feeling cos the one that you are in is just as good looking! I saw a reflection of mine at the McD's drive thru just yesterday and thought "wow, if i saw that car on the road i would want one!"
  13. its true, they (the insurance companies) think that if you have a partner / married etc, that you are less of a risk for some reason... Wonder who carried all this research out for the insurance companies? My fiance put me down on her car insurance as a named driver and got a £40 reduction.
  14. I agree with you too on that mate. You're trying to keep a safe distance, and some git thinks that you have kept that space for him! People like that almost force you at times to drive closer to the car in front than you would like to.
  15. I got the same hates about those that hog the fast lane.... however, the VR6 has so much acceleration that you just go round them, and when they try to react, they cant catch you quick enough, and you are back in the fast lane, and long gone. The bit that gets you most, is that after you've gone to all that trouble, they usually move into the middle lane, which they should have been in all along.
  16. I had the same feeling when i went to try a VR6, having owned a 2.016v for under a year. they feel miles apart, and that feeling you get driving it home.... and flooring it and thinking "wow, all this power!!!" as for the alarm, i always thought the VW standard wasnt all that good or reliable, and had a Clifford Concept 300 fitted straight away, and am more than well pleased with it. Good luck with the search mate. Any advice you want or need, this is definitely the place to come. Cheers. Del.

    bulbs on ebay

Yes the are easy to fit. I have bought one from H100VW, and almost fitted it the other night. was easy, but as i was unsure of one thing i put everything back how it was until i got confirmation of what i needed to know. Just havent had the chance to fit since then, but i can say it is an easy job to do.
  18. soz G-master. wasnt referring to you.
  19. Dont know about you guys, but i find people with MK4 golfs have a complex of some sort. Every time they see a Corrado on the road, no matter where they are, or what type of road it is, they HAVE to floor it and show you how quick their car is (isnt!). When i say MK4, im refering mainly to any of the following: V5, 4-motion, GTI, GTI - I, Tdi, GT-Tdi, R32, and any other with after market 1million inch alloys driven by a young dorky looking (almost looks too young to be driving) male. Impreza drivers are another of the same breed.. (Sorry if I have offended any sane Mk4 golf drivers / owners in here. just had to get it off my chest)
  20. Im so glad i read this today as i thought i was going crackers over the last few months. Sometimes the gap was huge, other times it was real quick, and im thinking... 'am i imagining this?' ....'how do the wipers know how much rain is falling, they didnt have rain sensors on VW's back then did they?' Anyway, i actually figured it out yesterday  whist driving in quite heavy rain, and by coincidence read this thread today! Ooh zzose klever people at Ze VolksVagen fek-toree!
  21. 28 VR6 Clean License. Full NCB (protected) £590 Fully Comp... only £50 more than it was for my previous 'C' which was a 2.0l 16v
  22. Went there a couple of years ago when i had the Mk2 GTi. There are some lovely roads round there. (Long as it aint wet!). Just turn off down any narrow winding road, and you usually find that its a nice twisty fun road. The sort your Corrado will love. (Although I know how clean you like to keep your VR6, and it will mean you'll have to spend a couple of extra hours cleaning it afterwards with the cotton buds)
  23. Hi Lenny, Yep very pleased indeed. :D Exhaust knock is totally cured. - Thanks. The weather is so crap! Its been raining just about everyday! so gonna have to wait a little while longer b4 i can take some decentt. Cheers again for looking after me Lenny, and doing a top job - much appreciated.
  24. Yes Pete, Standard Alloys (15" Speedlines) I think it needs a set of 16inch BBS or Porsche Cup type alloys to truly give it the perfect look. Wont be for a while tho, having just spent the best part of £800 on lowering the car and fitting a Magnex! I cant stop lookin at the car since its been lowered. It has totally transformed the appearance. Will be posting the pics on here Sunday (if i get that 'illusive' lead ontime!)
  25. ITS DONE! Im well pleased with it, although i think the front looks lower than i originally wanted it to. Still looks good tho. Miles better. Its not been dry enough to see what its like on corners yet, but will inform as and when. Will post pics real soon. (still waiting for the USB lead for the camera!)
