Yep, at least 2, didn't look too closely it was late.

Thanks for the offer but I've bought a standard pipe, although a good price I couldn't justify it as needed other pipes, clips, seals etc.
-
Update - I've started the engine work tonight, going to change thermostat and housing + seals, crack pipe + seals, oil cooler pipes + seals and finally oil + filter change. Luckily I've just got enough room to do it in my garage with the doors closed but I will roll it out a little when I get down to changing stuff. Look closely at the crack pipe and tell me what you see

Similarly if we need steel parts making up I maybe able to help. I was as the dealer this morning and thought I'd ask too - yep got the same obsolete reply. -
Thanks Steve I'll try to remember that. Wiring is all sorted now with new crimps
-
Oh that's crap! Could you see any rust creeping beyond the seal inside or outside the car? I want to check without removing the screen.
-
Yeah I think a standard one should do me, can't delay getting it on the road anymore. Whilst I've got the front end off is it worth doing the water pump?
-
I was thinking I had to order it from the US, are there distributors in the UK?
-
Does anyone know what the delivery time is for a Gruven Crack Pipe? I'll need it for next week sometime if poss. Thanks Dave
-
Thanks Jim, I know it's not alot to pay but I've got other priorities so a cheap used one will have to do for now.
-
That doesn't seem to bad, anyone know how much they are now? Does the motor come with a new fuse/resistor or is this a separate part? It's not a good time for me to spend at least that sort of money, I've just found out the crack pipe on my VR is knackered.
-
Ok I've found the motor to be buggered. Took it out of the housing and switched it on, sometimes it wouldn't start without a push but when it got going it would spin slowly and yes there was that burning smell. Rotating my hand whilst it was spinning also gave random results, was noisy at times too. I'll put up a wanted ad. Thanks for peeps replies. I swear I will fix all my problems

Found this which confirms it - http://ccs.exl.info/carwires.html

Ok will check it out tomoz, thanks.

I've got 2 colours on each wire on driver side - red/brown and blue/green Haven't checked pass side.

Came to change one of my rear speaker shelves and noticed the speakers have been replaced with JBL's but the wiring had been tied on rather than crimped. Now in the 2 weeks I've owned the car I have found quite a few 'corners cut' that I've had to put right so I'd like to double check the speaker wiring. Does anyone know which wires are positive and which are negative. Car is a 94 VR if that makes a difference. Thanks Dave

My driver door key on my new VR didn't fit the lock so dismantled all the little brass piece's and re-jiggered it, felt like I was trying to crack a safe  All working fine now

Snap! Purchased yesterday.

Works on all speeds although when I first saw the car it did stop working at one point. Didn't listen too carefully to the motor so not sure about noise. As for the seal on the plenum chamber I bought one from the dealer but couldn't change it as it's been glued down  I'll pull the motor out and see what I get when switched on. Thanks for all replies.

I get what looks and smells like smoke from my heater vents when I first switch the blower on, it clears after about 20 seonds. Now I'm quite concerned about his as you'd expect. The engine doesn't have to be warm when this happens and I know the heater matrix has been replaced in the last few years so I'm ruling that out. I'm not getting any coolant loss either. I'm thinking there maybe a problem with the motor or associated wiring? Any help very much appreciated. Dave

Was at the dealers this morning too, I'll ask when I collect my parts on Thursday. I might go for the Greystripe, at least I can use it elsewhere too.
-
Ok, I'll get a tin of the stuff. Thanks
-
Thanks Kev but what's Greystripe?

I saw Jim's VR on Sunday and the paintwork seems to be in pretty good condition, depends how fussy you are I guess. Really nice example Jim :D
