  1. Bergundy Rado this morning at about 10.20 heading North up the M1 just after J26. Not sure what model as it was completely dabaged on the rear with FK Crystal rear lights, looked nice and clean. I was in the wifes Fiesta.
  2. You need to remove the door card and pull the membrane part way from the lower corner of the door, the handle cable is plug into an additonal connector which is clipped to the inside of the door. You'll see it when you pull the membrane away.
  3. My daughter had a male friend round the other week and they sat at the computer doing what teens do and he noticed my VR6 rear badge on the desk (I've yet to refit it after having paint done) and he started asking my daughter about it. Next minute he came up to me and says 'have you got a Corrado?' I say 'yes' and he says 'wow I love Corrado's' so I showed him. Then he starts talking about old Golfs and Polo's saying he wants one soon as he can get shut of his Corsa. Now this lad is only 20 and it amazes me that a youth of this age brought up on more modern stuff has eyes for the older VW.
  4. Yeah we had some success today unlike some other collection of bumholes :(
  5. Had the same when I put my VR on the road, nothing you can do about it, just do it :)
  6. I've updated the install guide since you had the kits off me to improve the process, I've tried a new method several times and it seems to work. PM me your email address and I'll send it over. I've also had to grind away the remaining part of the striker arm a few times in the past and to be honest it's a last resort if all else fails. It's time consuming but you'll get there.
  7. Good luck if you go ahead with it.
  8. Does that include time to remove interior panels? I removed them myself which probably reduced the cost. That price I think is way over the top, they should quote based on time not panel, I've seen my guy in action and it doesn't take long if he's any good. This time I had both quarters done and a dent on the roof, he did it all in about an hour.
  9. The dents removed this week were not along any crease, it was about a year ago on my valver. If I remember I had both quarters done for £40.
  10. I had a dent removed from the quarter panel crease but can't tell you if it was totally successful as it had been touched up by a previous owner so it was somewhat masked by the paint. Was certainly better than before. That was the first time I'd ever used dent removal and was impressed so I had the same guy out this week for more of the same and again I'm very happy with the results. I'd recommend him but he's not local to you, he lives in Derby.
  11. Had the dent man take some dents out of my quarter panels and roof, good job too.
  12. Thanks Stu, I'm sure there is an answer in there somewhere......but I've had a drink and I'm crap with electrics
  13. Right I've done some more digging and found some more unconnected plugs, excuse the 'rats nest' I know I've got some sorting to do when the dash is out. Working from left to right - Green plug with blue/black wire Yellow plug with black/yellow wire Green plug with black/blue wire Grey plug with blue/grey wire There is a Yellow socket (out of focus) with nothing connected just behind the 2nd Green plug I can only see 2 spare sockets in the fuse board for the Yellow/Green/Grey plugs, can't see any spare for the 1st Green plug. It would be handy to know what these unplugged connections are for, everything seems to be working ok on the car with them unplugged.
  14. I did notice that the Grey plugs are a slightly different shape/size to the Green, so you don't get them crossed?
  15. I'll let you know how I get on.
  16. Yeah I did see some empty slots, I'll try harder next time..................before teacher says it  Thanks Andy.
  17. I will have a look tomorrow. Ta Only just got round to checking this and yes there is an unplugged blue/white wire with a green plug. Checked for continuity between this and the module plug and yes it confirms this to be the correct plug. Problem is I couldn't see on the fuse board where this should fit. Any idea or a pic would be good?
  18. Have you disconnected the cable and unclipped it from the inside of the door? If the cable is still attached you can't pull the hand out far enough.
  19. No but you may lose a mug full, that's about what I lost when I did mine.
  20. Great write-up, this should help me loads when I come to change my dash and tidy up some wiring. Big thanks to those involved, this is just one reason why I love this forum :D
  21. done four heater matrix's so i can do that with my eyes closed, i took my dash out toady and it seriously took me no more than 20 minutes. 20mins  , I might have to pick your brains as I need to change my dash soon, if that's ok?
  22. Ordered the leads yesterday at about lunch time and they came today at about the same time so good service me thinks. Fitted them when I got home, better quality then the ones already on and dare I say it there is a slight improvement in the general running of things. VW Spares and Beru recommended by me :D
  23. I've just this minute ordered the Beru leads.
