Did my thermo recently and yes I think that is correct, there should be a clip holding it in anyway. O-ring part number - N90316802
-
Right I've pulled out the Beige ones, PM me your postal details.
-
Yep I'll be there probably from about 9.30-10.00. Do you want to convoy?

The car is now back together and I'm pleased to say it's running with no leaks and the cooling system seems to be working ok. I changed the oil and filter aswell, I actually enjoyed working on the engine, I thought it was going to be more complicated. Yesterday saw a top to bottom wash and polish and finishing off a few jobs ready for the road. Got to drive it about 4.30pm yesterday and immediately had a big grin on me face. Drove to work and back today with no problems so I'm a happy man. I did find some paint issues when I was polishing so I'll tackle them at a later date. Next jobs will be fabricating a rear exhaust hanger as there is nothing there and then a gearbox oil change. The dash has some phone holder holes in it so a replacement dash is on the cards along with tidying up some old wiring. I'll get some pics up when I get the chance, can't seem to get out of the driver seat :D

Jim's Corrado - ciao to the Fiat! Hello to.. (P64)

Just got back this minute - love it! A quick question - water temp was around 80 and oil 90 - 94, didn't get stuck in any traffic so was moving most of the time, is this about right for a VR? Sorry for off topic but want to put my mind at rest as I've done all the work on the VR myself. -
Crikey, I was thinking of changing my dash as it's got phone holder holes but looking at that lot it looks like a nightmare job. Is it? Oh yeah your tax is a little out of date  Good luck with the work Andy.

Looking good Jim, really happy for you. Spent most of the day washing and polishing mine and I too have found paintwork issues I'm not happy with :( but on a brighter note today is the first day the VR is on the road and legal. I waved goodbye to the valver yesterday. Now it's gone and peed down before I could get the VR back in the garage. -
Ian, I'll say it before anyone else......looks nice put needs dropping :) How's the ride on the 17's?
-
 don't remember buying any Black cabinets, you can have Beige or I think I've got White.
-
Yep you're probably right - might try one if I find one hanging around an appropriately coloured kitchen  I need 4 beige ones 8) I think I've got some Beige ones, I'll have a look.

Yeah I asked about these last week and they are obsolete. Those caps are usually used on kitchen cabinets amongst other uses. In my experience they aren't much good as they don't get a good purchase on the head and end up on the floor, probably as soon as the door slams shut. Could glue them on but I'd sooner have nothing on there than those cheap looking items.

Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE

Oh good, thanks for the feedback. -
I'm new to the VR and just aquired mine a few weeks back. It had a knackered and leaking crack pipe which is a weak point so check that.
-
That's not a Corrado handle. It maybe that the original handle was buggered and they didn't want to spend the cash on a new one. If you like send me the kit back and I'll fit it to a spare handle I have and post back? Dave

After fitting new crack pipe, thermo housing & oil cooler seals amongst other bits and pieces on the cooling system, I filled it up and hey no leaks! Also changed the oil and filter. A good evening I'd say!

Remove 4x 17mm bolts, 2 each side, pull bumper off.
-
Put up a pic of your calipers if you're not sure which you have. Can easily tell with the wheel on, the 288's will say ATE on the outer face.
-
I love this forum, thanks guys :D

After fitting a new crack pipe and thermo housing I've found this unconnected wire and I'm pretty sure I haven't disconnected it during the strip down. Any idea where it should be connected cus I've looked everywhere? It's about 400mm long after it exits the wiring loom down near the bottom rad hose. Thanks Dave

More work tonight - For anyone interested there were 3 cable ties holding the pipe on. Crack pipe is off but it broke and left part of it in the engine block outlet, had to pick it out carefully making sure I got all the pieces out - see pic. Thermostat housing came off easier. There is another part that connects the crack pipe to the housing which broke when I took it off - see pic. If I'd have known this was also a weak part I'd have bought a new item so be warned if you do this job. The part number in question is 021 121 133 D adapter.
