Bcstudent picked up what i missed  if it's a house charger that you want to fit 240v ac to convert to 5v dc then an inverter is the only way but it would be cheaper to get a universal car charger and do what i said in my first post Rob
-
your charger will reduce the voltage from 12v to 5v so all you need is a lead with a lighter socket on the end (you can get these in most accesory shop) wire that to a fused 12v supply and an earth and plug your charger in then hide the lot behind the dash just leaving the end that goes into the phone out Rob

How about on the lower steering column cowl like the tvr's Rob

the filter is sprayed with special thin oil to help it work better (you can buy a kit of cleaner on oil to re do it ) as for bhp gains on a standard car no more than 1or 2 bhp at some points on the rev range you sometimes even lose a couple of bhp at other points but it does seem to allow the engine to rev more cleanly and pickup quicker but having just spend £40 on something you can't see you have to tell the misses something  intake noise will be a little louder normally also don't believe the claims of 10 - 15 bhp with a filter alone just not there on standard cars Rob

i always rated k&n's had one in my old astra gte for 60 k just got one for my polo gt but when i got the corrado 5 years ago it came fitted with a jetex cleaned that a couple of times same make up as the k&n oiled cotton never used the foam type like pipercross etc so can't comment on those think it comes down to how much you want to spend second hand ones can be cleaned and reoiled to perform like new k&n's have a million mile warrantee so they will outlast a few cars if cleaned and oiled regularly Rob
-
14 inch will only fit on corrado's with 256mm front brakes meaning 16valves only if you have a g60 or vr6 then you will need 15 inch minimum and of course 5 stud for the vr you could carry a 14 inch but it will only fit the rear so you would need to do a double wheel change if your flat is on the front Rob
-
as long as you make sure the wires from the alternator are insulated and dont touch an earth the engine an earth as well so be careful if they do melted wires and much smoke will follow Rob
-
disconect the battery first as the wires on the back of the alternator are live even with out the ignition on other than that pretty easy Rob
-
New wheels look so much better than the old ones going to take some work to keep as shiny as they are now time to invest in a set of winter wheels or even a winter run about. it will pay for itself if you can lay up the corrado and save on insurance for a few month over the winter look forward to see them in the flesh at the next south wales meet not long now :) Rob

"diesel knock" as it's known is the noise of the flame travel within the combustion chamber thats why years ago diesels had indirect injection meaning the injector squirted into a pre-chamber the noise was greater now with direct injection flame travel is less so less noise is made as for some engines sounding louder than others it's the same with petrol so many variables on each engine not least wear and tear so the noise is not mecanical it's caused by the combustion of the fuel air mixture just think when petrol cars overun (keys in your hand and engine still going ) it sounds like a diesel because the mixture is being ignited by a hot spot and traveing across the chamber Rob
-
Can't beat getting a run about mine first one died but it saved me the good woman and my corrado :) first i got this to save the ware and tare on this then this happened :( so then i got this :D run abouts are great if you ask me Rob

Dont take the P but - Freezing Conditions and Spoiler ????
carpy25 replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in Exterior
mines been frozen in the past (i've had it five winters )but had no problems with motor burn out or fuse blowing just makes a but of noise as it pops free i always clear as much snow off as possible and try not to wash to car in very cold weather as for L4 PRG spoiler rising at 60mph thats ok later models have a higher activation speed than earlier cars Rob -
sorry got it wrong mk3's were released Oct 90 so can be on an h plate (as the pics prove ) got the dates mixed up with the G40 that came out in July 91 so that means that h plate G40's were on sale on an h plate as well for one month only anyone seen an h plate G40 Rob
-
H plate would be a mark 2 if it is a mark 2 it's a coupe" s " carb 1.3 55bhp coupe "s" were badged as GT's in the rest of europe i think my GT's quick for a 1.3 but it's NO match for my corrado Rob
-
if it's the early type you have to remove the indicator lens to get at the screws ,remove them and it just pops out the inside edge dont know about the newer type but guess it will be same Rob
-
please check these with the dealer before you buy as my copy is usa relay 191 906 383 c in loc 12 bottom right first row above fuses sunroof gasket 321 877 209 2460mm shorten to 2265 mm only lhd cables listed on mine 535 819 831 cable for control flap 535 819 835 cable for defroster flap 535 819 837 cable for temp flap the number your after would fall between those i think Rob
-
take them off for paint you can always put then back on if you don't like it that way Rob :D
-
bleed screw should be at the top because air rises the hand brake cable enters the calipers either on top or on the bottom it the newer type has the hand brake on the bottom i think but the bleed must be on the top whichever ones you have easy to put them on upside down (on the wrong side ) heard about it loads ROB
