Could your thermostat be stuck open? That'd cause a slower warm-up too. It's also cheap and easy to replace.
-
It looks like the interlocks between the window switches are also managed inside the control unit. So unless it's a wiring fault, which is easily tested, there's no getting away from a control unit replacement I'd say.
-
After looking at those wiring diagrams on the Russian site, I fear it may be time for a new electric window control unit. You may be able to sort the one you have depending on how skilled you are with all things electrical/electronic.

Not only start-up. The fuel line to the cold-start valve is at system pressure (over 6 bar) so it'll leak, if it's going to, as soon as the pump is primed. That also means it may spray fuel when you crack the fuel line union bolt, depending on how long the car has sat for since the pump last ran, so keep your rag handy for that too!

I think both high and low pressure switches are on the oil filter housing. I seem to remember reading a post on VWVortex a while back about swapping the low pressure switch with another sender on the back of the cylinder head as an engine safety measure. It was on a 9A engine though so I'll have to check the KR has the same oilways.

Well if we're having a boredom contest, get a load of this!
-
Just the one: don't crash! Have a good 'un chap. I hope it's a blast.

I've forgotten exactly what is required to change the gearbox mount but, when I did mine, I definitely needed to be underneath the car to undo something at one point. You wouldn't easily get that far under without axle stands.

Have the headlights been detailed with red paint inside? -
As long as the brakes pass the performance test, and the discs aren't paper thin, you'll only get an advisory. At least you should only get an advisory. The rest of it....well, you're screwed with that :)
-
It's a piece of piss with a four-post lift but a bugger to change on axle stands. For the few quid it'd cost at a garage I'd recommend making it someone else's problem!

You think this tw*t is going for a job on Top Gear or something? Don't give up the day-job pal. * EDIT * Wow, what a total punisher. If I was the Stig I'd be fearing for my job about now. WHAT?! Dumb arse. -
I'll say this much: if you think the new seals are hard to get in the manifold, just wait until you have to remove injectors with new seals!
-
What model of Corrado? If you've got a G60 or a VR6 you could take a look here: http://volkswagen.msk.ru/index.php?p=page09

I think Corrados look great in white; I feel the same way about white big-bumper Mk2 GTIs too.

Where can I get a decent Oil Catch Tank to suit my G60
bcstudent replied to Blue_Joe's topic in Suppliers Forum
Compared to that stuff you had fabricated recently, a custom oil catch tank would be a breeze to make. Have you considered asking the fabricator if he's interested? -
A liberal dose of WD40 in the general area should help. It helped for me when my injector seals weren't playing ball :)
-
Mine passed the MOT too but at 120k miles had some starting issues from any state other than stone cold that needed to be sorted out. The injectors did just that.
-
It would make sense, but I can't say I've ever heard LPG mentioned on any US car forum. Is it called something else maybe?
-
I haven't seen that before either. The plot thickens further!
-
Are there as many LPG filling stations in the USA as there are here? Not being able to fill up within 100 miles of my house, for example, may put me off slightly!

Have you not seen that other thread about 16v injectors? There's an eBay seller knocking out Bosch injectors for £12.50 each. I'm not sure if they're KR or 9A compatible though as the union thread size is different between the two. I took the plunge with new KR injectors from GSF a few months ago and the car has run so much better since. I used to have a lot of warm-starting problems and it was just fairly gutless in general. Still not rampant but a lot better...and it starts!
