as far as i recall kev mentioned that the r32 works with the vr gearbox fine thats exactly what i had in mind too

Ive had my car for two years now and not been able to spend on mods for the engine all i have spent on is repair work oil leaks, misfires and the story continues, i thought about putting my monies together and buying another engine in winter......the options lie v6 4 motion or even the r32 im a mechaninc by trade but wiring does my nut in.........what sort of problems should i expect to face if i decide to do this.

im so f**kd well the brake warning light is on only on bcos the handbrake is on :D ........i forgot to notice that one......the battery light is still on and i narrowed it down to one wire, there is a black wire that comes from the altenator, pretty thick it is i need to know where it goes.

checked the starter wiring and every thing seems in order, just one wire im not sure about. On the alternator there are two wires one blue which goes into a plug on the wiring loom and second is a black wire with a ring type connector, seems to me like its the earth for the alt but i might be wrong i had this on one of the starter bolts when i did this the light stays on..........just disconnected it and the battry light flickers at idle and goes out when revved.........might it be a positive?

Took the starter off as it was sticking a little, cleaned the shaft and applied a thin layer of grease so it springs back well. refitted eveything fired the car up starter no longer sticks but the battery light is on, its never come on before and the car has only been stood for 2 days. theres a blue wire that runs to the altenator and every time i disconnect it the battery light goes out???......connect it and it comes on.......whats going on???

update, its all mounted up i now need to know how the starter wiring goes......theres a plug which connects to the starter(Done) a big thick positive that comes from the battery to the solenoid of the starter(done) a small wire thats on the wiring loom near the starter possibly an earth ive put this on one of the starter bolts. fired the car up and the oil warning and battery light stays on..what could be wrong??? :(

I have just removed the front crossmember on my VR and when i looked on the top half of the mount there is like a little fork type thing seems to be a type of locater for the mount to sit correctly.............i dont know where it goes or does it even do owt????..........i now need to refit the whole thing.

its in Bradford it was sold roughly about 2-3mths ago it had Kahn type 5 spoke wheels on it..............bodywork needed a bit of attention it had dings all over it.

the only way i reconised it was that car that lived a street away from me the guy who had it kept it for a month or so and then sold it on e-bay..........thats all i know really

I had a rite nightmare with my vr brakes when i changed the rear calipers to mk4 ones.........i dont know if the abs pump on the vr's or 8v's differ but mine did have bleed nipples on the top of the pump......i also bled the clutch which helped a bit. -

anyone know how i can go about putting a sound clip on here? what format does it need to be in.

you cant hear it at all when the engine is revved or when driving, only on idle ive tried to listen to see which area its coming from and just cant seem to pin point to anything, it sounds like its coming from maybe the belt area key thing though its not constant......evry 3-4 seconds

On idle there is a rattly sound from the engine of my VR its not constant but u can hear it every 3-4 seconds or so, it sort of sounds like a bolt in a container when shaken. i dont know if its the tensioners as the car has no record of this being done and its done 95k

Majik, what size is the sebring exhaust on ur C, do you think its possible to mount it further up without cutting the bumper?......im thinking of the same exhaust for my car but just want to know how good of a fit it is
