  1. Looking at the bidders it does look like it's being deliberately hiked up. Plus if I was selling a car on ebay I would be deleting bids from a user with only 2 feedbacks. Ebay itself is generally useless for selling, everyone wants a bargain and unless you actually go and see the car beforehand instead of buying blind the chances are it's not as described anyway. They always leave something important out. My G60 came from ebay from a fellow forum member and despite it looking shiny and pretty, it was a mechanical timebomb aswell as a death trap.
  2. Can only really be the rack now that the pump has been ruled out unfortunately. Some sort of blockage inside it causing a pressure build up maybe.
  3. I've done some research on this and if they have a cat fitted then they'll get a cat test but of not they'll just be tested as a pre 92 car without a cat. Mine is coming off shortly but i'll just cut it out and make my own de-cat. Mine wouldn't pass emmisions last year even with the cat so will have the back hander on standby when I take it for its mot in a few weeks.
  4. Aw yeah I remember now. It's been a while. Yeah any size that fits the banjo bolt. Match it to the original.
  5. If it's the two short feed pipes on the rack then no. They have flared ends. Like brake pipes.
  6. Dealers can and always aim high. It's not as if they need it gone. Probably a nice car to have sitting on the forecourt too.
  7. Although it transpired the guys actions were driven by bitter jealousy the woman does make some good points. Blatant flaunting of wealth around those at the opposite end of the spectrum isn't always going to end well. many do not take kindly to it. Doesn't make it right, but it's going to happen.
  8. Well it's a dealer for a start, so obviously inflated. But you know, it's worth what it's worth. Without seeing it in the flesh, it's impossible to make a true assessment. Can't do any harm having it advertised at top money if it's a top example.
  9. It would take at least 5k for someone to relieve me of my G60, but it's worth no more than 2k given it's condition. And that's after spending 2k on it over a year and a half and it's still not even half to where I want it to be. Must be love!!
  10. I'm not personally attacking you, i'm attacking the poor logic of this thread. You say your not having ago at the driver of the golf but clearly you did, based on little more than an assumption. And then went on to say, ''It truly does display, IMO, the problem with the country/s dumbing everything down for the lowest common denominator of person'' A bit over the top don't you think.
  11. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand the difference in an accident damaged corrado and an undamaged mk5 golf but if the OP thinks their comparable and that all bonnet safety catches are simply there for fun and not purpose then there is not much else to be said.
  12. I believe your just blowing things out of proportion and assuming the worst. For all you know the problem could of arose on their journey and they have carefully nursed the car to it's destination and arranged it to be repaired. But no, lets all just assume idiotic behavior and jump on the opportunity to take the moral high ground as usual. Nevertheless, that safety catch will have been designed to keep the bonnet down in the event of a failure. That's what they are for.
  13. So what exactly is the safety catch for if it won't prevent such a catastrophe at normal road speeds? Do they just fit them for fun these days?
  14. When autoglass done mine they arrived with the kit including side trims but the screen also had the side trims bonded. I just sold the spare set on. Remember and check for rust when screens out and watch the fitter like a hawk.
  15. Wouldn't be much of an issue at low speeds. And they're obviously aware of the problem.
  16. As far as head gaskets go, the vr6 engine in my opinion is fairly straightforward. I wouldn't worry about the chains or the clutch unless engine is coming out. I would recommend having the head rebuilt while it's off though. Valve guides and seals at the very least.
  17. But what if the person with the Aston had done something even worse and what we see is a mild form of cowardly revenge. You just don't know. Typical with most rag reports like these. Only one side of the story. If it was just a twisted act of jealously then fair enough, he's a moron with a few issues that need dealing with. But we don't know that. Is it morally correct to form an opinion based on limited information? I don't think so.
  18. You too make an good point about meda and television. It is clearly by design a tool used to dumb down the masses by the method of demoralising. All this pointless news that ****es people off and have them moaning 24/7, constant sexual referencing in tv and advertising regardless of the audience age. Times have changed in the last 50 years and it's all to do with forced information via an ever increasing circle of corrupted or manipulated sources which have been subverting the younger generations. It sets the standards while making people believe they are unique, individual and free.
  19. That's what insurance is there for and the reason we all pay it. You don't know the entire episode of events so why the need to judge?
  20. Hardly news worthy though is it? Just because it's an Aston? The owner might be a total bell-end and deserved it you just never know. At the end of the day it'll be covered on insurance.
  21. Fairy liquid. But my paints that thin I couldn't care less.
  22. Ad sounds dubious, a coilover without a brand, no mention of TUV approval, springs may come in a different colour and fits anything from a 1.0 Golf to a 2.9 Corrado. They can only be rubbish in every conceivable aspect.
  23. There isn't any adjustment on a vr6 distributor. Just a slot in the cam for the rotor so the worst you can do is get it 180 degrees out.
