As Richard says - Welcome back

Cheers Henny Ho Ho Ho Sarcasm is the ........... Ok, but think the inst manual could make that clear - the suggestion is that if you have 4 o/ps then they should all be connected. But I see what you are saying re the fader, but since I've already set that for my car (like everyone I guess) then adjusting the basslink fixed controls should be all that's needed. Might try swapping the leads afterwards to see if it makes any difference. But thanks for that; you just never know till you ask do you.

Oh shit. Sorry to hear that Baz. You not gonna strip and fix then? Give me a shout if you need a hand as I'm not far away. Happily, mine has behaved perfectly since Wed morning. Typical C, just like a woman, always keeping you guessing

Why is nothing ever simple. So I bought one, it arrived yesterday. Today I thought I'd start to fit it. My head unit has 4 RCA outputs but the Free Connection Kit only contains one RCA cable pair. The way I read the instruction manual I need to connect all four of the head unit RCA outputs, so guess I need to buy another cable. Can anyone whose fitted one of these basslinks confirm that for me please as I don't want to power it up without being sure? And of course the damn car's in bits now isn't it. Rats.

Cheers guys. The old plugs are probably part of a landfill now. Didn't change the leads coz she was running fine. Right now I'll just wait and see what happens tonight.

Oh dear. Cranked the VR up this morning to come home after night shift and she was firing on something less than 6. Couldn't really tell how many but it was an unusually lumpy trip :( But after about 7 miles the rest of them decided to join in again. Revving her up on the drive she picks up fine, but get occasional exhaust popping when I lift off - never really done that before so don't know if that's normal. Anyway, working on the principle of 'what have I done lately' I am hoping it may just be one (or more?) of the new plugs. But being as how this is a C, it may never happen again. Fingers crossed eh  Time for brekky

Two in Bradford on Avon this morning. Didn't catch the models but a Blackberry (maybe) flashed & waved :); second Burgundy N8****, I was arm waving wildly out the window but got no response :(

Should my VR overheat with the Aux water pump disconnected
2cc replied to Dub Style's topic in Engine Bay
Often meant to ask someone, is the aux pump switched on/off with the fans or does it have independent switching? I can never tell if mine actually works because its either: drowned out by the fan noise very quiet temps not high enough to turn it on or its dead Grateful for any words of wisdom. -
Nice one Roger. Hope I never need to invoke it but good to have in the back pocket so to speak.

No surprises there then  Plenty posts on here about changing them yourself, no big deal but they tend to rust in situ so can be fun to get out.

12 hours, 598 miles all done today oh what fun
2cc replied to willwoll100's topic in General Car Chat
Nice one willwoll, cool pix. Hope you stopped for the official transport regs rest every 4 and a half hours - as if LOL -
Hi Sarah, got to join the welcoming committee :) Nice to see you here.

Beat me to it Henny. Same thing happened to me once ages back - haven't got the part number I just told them to get a new one for me pdq And yeah, it really grips me when they b****r up other bits of the car. To be fair though my present dealers have always taken good care of mine - think they know how fanatical I am LOL

Aha, the spending spree continues

Hi GinaG, lots of threads on here about this (try the search), but this is most probably a sensor which the garage should easily identify for you.
-
Another Welcome. Hope you realise that now you've started spending money on her it'll never stop LOL
-
Doubt I can help but this will probably need a few more details about when it actually cuts out. Like: are you maintaining a constant speed?, lifting off the throttle?, opening throttle? etc

I'm forever getting flashed for dodgy overtaking near the esso garage by Box!! How will i know its you!? I'll be grinning - not waving two fingers :D
-
Pleased to hear that Jim - on both counts :)
-
Nice. Keeping my eyes skinned. Look out for me flashing you in a: truck, coach, LDV, transit, mondeo, focus, astra, vectra, corsa, rover or maybe a C LOL

Aqua blue? on Dorchester (Dorset) bypass this afternoon, I was in the green one today, flashed and waved. Any offers?
-
Yep, just done mine at 123,525 miles. Top tensioner was well worn, but no noticeable ill efects on running. Hopefully the new parts will last even longer than this.

Holy s**t £200 Glad I live in the sticks; hope you win the argument. Still, glad you've fixed it. Also learned a couple of things from this, didn't know the pump had that pressure valve Kev. Like your posts Dennis, very informative m8
