Another welcome. Nice price and looks real clean.

or, option 3, we old fogies have seen you coming and we're on, round, and out the other side before you can say "look, another Corradoooooo" LOL
-
Kev, I'm surprised and disappointed. Thought you would have been oiling your locks weekly at least, if not doing a regular full strip and rebuild LOL How you getting on Scarlett?
-
yeah, that's the main reason I've never bothered trying to 'fix' the valver's

hmm, you should be able to open the boot with the key (turn the key to 45 degrees right and push) regardless of the central locking working or not. So if it won't open with the key then I suspect the mechanism on the back of the lock may broken. You need to remove the plastic trim panel from inside the tailgate (behind the number plate basically). Easy to remove with the lid open, but can't recall whether you can do this from inside the car with the lid shut. If you do manage to remove it, there is an actuating rod (which may have fallen off) from the lock mech to the catch. Pull it towards the drivers side and it'll pop open. HTH

Kev, you really rebuilt them  LOL

must stop working on other peoples cars and fit this.... must get rid of my laptop virus.... must buy a house.... must get a life.... etc

Not a patch on the foregoing, and Chris VR6NOS probably wasn't even born then, but nearing the end of a seven month complete rebuild (engine too) of an MGB ragtop decided it was time to fill up with oil (you can see where this is going can't you) and see if she'd start. Initially puzzled by lack of slippy stuff on the dipstick, then realised I was stood in an Exon Valdez sized slick. Oh bugger! Now where's that sump plug got to? Not my best nights work. There's more, just haven't got the time right now.

Mine arrived on Friday afternoon :D :D Lots of other things to do before I even think about fitting it though  :(

kev flying by the seat of his pants again LOL

Leave them on then. You don't HAVE to remove them to take the shatfs out. But if you really want to you will also need to remove the calliper carrier from the hub as the discs won't come out from behind them. They're held on with two 17mm or 18mm hex head bolts on the back of the hub. But the discs are usually loose on the drive flange once the grub screw is removed, and you say you've done that so am at a bit of a loss. I can only think theye have been on the car for a gazillion years and rusted on pretty solid. Could try good dousing in Plus Gas or WD40, but you really shouldn't have to beat them much. Hope you used a soft faced hammer! Sorry can't be more help

I've been using sainsbugs best for years without any probs. Funnily enough I checked my local Tescos pums a few days ago to see what they had - none of the good stuff though. I'll have another look tomorrow as have to go there again.
-
Yes it does do something. It engages with the engine bracket and stops it (the mtg) turning when you tighten the top fixing bolt. Just browsed my photo file but haven't got one of this, but the fork thing should be pointing backwards, ie towards the engine. HTH

Just trying to recall exactly how its oriented. I think you can just get at the stat hsg screws (2) (from front of engine) with the temp sens shroud removed, not sure whether the fan motor gets in the way though as I'd taken mine off. Like kev says, remove the coilpack. The water pipe should move enough for you to remove the stat hsg without taking off the whole assy. -
Nice one Jim, bin wondering what you were doing for wheels now. Pix were a bit dark but looks great. Now let me guess on the first mod - change the badge to 2.9? LOL
-
You will definitely need a wiring plan to know which wire to connect where. Don't have it myself, but I'm sure someone on here will have the info.

Had to mention this as nearly pmsl on the drive to work just now H plate Civic vti up my chuff through town who then gets fractious coz I've held back for a few hundred yards to give a wee lass doing her cycling proficiency lesson plenty of room and time to negotiate the roundabout. Come out behind a big earth moving truck and matey thinks he'll have me. Being rather familiar with this piece of road I know we are going to be behind the truck for a while so I let him go (just, tee hee), my what a noise he made. Then watch him getting increasingly frustrated not being able to pass it till it (and he) went different ways at traffic lights. Har har. Priceless. For everything else there's a Corrado.
