  1. My mk4 and my other half's Leon Cupra R are bad enough to work on, not because of electronics, but due to lack of space. The Corrado is a joy to work on in comparison. Luckily the Leon is being replaced by an Audi A4 company car, so that's one less car I need to worry about. The Audi will have the 2.0 TFSI engine, so also I'll get a chance to experience that for myself :) At the moment the only thing that I would consider as a replacement for my Corrado would be a Porsche 964 or possibly a 993. I cannot afford either of those, so the Rado is safe. To be honest I have sold my Rado once, and bought it back, and will not ever consider doing that again. Mine's a keeper.
  2. I'm loving mine as much as I ever did at the moment. It's rare, drives well, looks great, doesn't cost the earth, and it is more reliable than my Mk4 daily driver - Whats not to love?
  3. I didn't see that coming. What has/will replace the Corrado?
  4. Payment received, MAF posted to Southie today.
  5. Hi Steve, thank-you. Paypal details pm'd.
  6. Come along to this http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.php?243874-Monthly-Meet and you will get plenty of interest in your Corrado and what needs to doesn't need doing. I usually take my Corrado, and one of the other regulars has a G60 and a 20vt Corrado.
  7. I'll give it a few more days on here and then put it on ebay.
  8. Best of luck with the sale, it sounds like a decent spec.
  9. Sounds great except the sun roof. If it is a neat installation pics will help you to keep people interested. If you pitch it to me for £5, I will buy it right away ;)
  10. If you are in a hurry I'd buy a cheap 3rd party cr*p one to keep it running and continue searching, but if you can wait maybe try Bosch dealers?
  11. Payment received from 8vMatt, so now sold.
  12. Hi Matt, did you receive my emails regarding payment?
  13. When I try to view a classified add I get a database error page. When in the classified section the number of views and replies is wrong. For instance I have an airbox for sale which 8vMatt wants to buy. He has replied in the thread, and so have I, but it says there has only been one view and no replies. Also I am not sure if PM's are working. I have pm'd 8vMatt, and clicked to put a copy in my sent folder, plus to track when the message has been read, but it does not appear in sent items or tracked messages. Is this a problem with my pc or with the forum?
  14. Corrado VR6 MAF. I bought this from Neil Humphries on here (I can't remember his username) to use for my conversion to Megasquirt, but plans changed and I went for ITBs, so no need for the MAF. I am looking to get back what I paid for it which was £25 delivered to UK (paypal accepted). Alternatively cash on collection from Southminster Essex for £20. The photos below are of the actual MAF for sale.
  15. Corrado VR6 airbox and used paper filter element. Good condition, not been modified or drilled. I bought this from Lillfuzzer to use for my conversion to Megasquirt, but plans changed and I went for ITBs, so no need for the airbox. I am looking to get back what I paid for it which was £35 delivered to UK (paypal accepted). Alternatively cash on collection from Southminster Essex for £30. The photos below are of the actual air box for sale.
  16. Keep calling the police and get photographic evidence to show them. I had a similar issue where I used to live where the kids from the looser family across the road kept climbing on the wall next to my drive. It was owned by me, and they were causing damage. I tried: Asking them politely to stop doing it - they ignored that. Screaming every swear word under the sun at them - they left, but soon started doing it again. The parents were clearly of low intelligence so had no control. In the end I decided I have two choices, end up in prison or keep calling the police. I did the latter, and I called them a lot, but it did help reduce the the problem. Luckily we moved house - problem solved.
  17. Jim's comment is a good one. However I have re-used stretch head bolts in the past and got away with it, but you are not supposed to. I did know the history of the bolts I re-used, as I had fitted them new the previous time the head was off. If it was me, and the bolts torqued up without any problems, and the engine runs fine and does not show any head gasket problems I'd probably leave it as it is.
  18. I thought that too. A fair bit of effort has gone into that, but they've ruined it.
  19. Mine has done about 100k since I first bought it. 90k of that was put on it by me.
  20. 36 Bought my Corrado in 2002, sold it in 2007, bought it again in 2009 and will never sell it.
  21. Crispy Squirrel, Wendy is correct, we don't like seeing Corrados broken, so if peoples responses seem a bit harsh this is why. If you felt able to carry out a repair yourself, I'm sure we all would offer plenty of advice to help you make a successful repair.
  22. It is quite possible for seals and trim to be damaged, but if you are paying a good bodyshop for the whole job, they will a. take alot of care not to damage anything and b. take responsibility for any damage they cause. This should be discussed and agreed at quotation stage to ensure there is no confusion later on.
