I was on Tapatalk yesterday evening and replied to a couple of threads, but within 3 minutes of doing so they were lost in space so to speak, I can log into Tapatalk ok but have the error as above where my thread reply goes missing, basically it's not saving any updates to threads, and when I click on to the advanced icon if I want to upload a photo, there's zero options available, all you can do is reply to a thread, but the app isn't saving any updated message. So you're just p***ing in the wind constantly  Looks to me as if the app has crashed or is corrupted, also if you sign in it throws you out, plus even if you click on the remember me option, it allows you to stayed signed in but again after a while it still throws you out. I wounder if the Tapatalk app has slightly disrupted the main forum, causing some of us problems including not being able to upload photos ????? It's either get the error / issue fixed or completely ditch this Tapatalk app because at the moment it's no good for anyone. Si

Hello there, welcome to the forum so you've owned your Corrado for just over 10 years, there not bad cars really as long as you jump on any maintenance ASAP that's needed, other wise it can lead to other problems. Mines been on axle stands for the last 3 plus years, hoping to get it back on the road this year or early next year. I think fuse 16 is for your rear spoiler, think it's 15amp as standard, but some of us have put a 20amp fuse in it's place, due to the spoiler motor or mechanism needing cleaning and greasing, which is why it tends to pop the 15amp standard fuse. As regards to your rear brake calipers, you can replace with new standard ones, or get your current calipers rebuilt, or some of the guys on here have upgraded to MK4 Golf rear calipers. Si

As above that's all I did as well and it works, tried it on Windows 7, 8 & 8.1 The Tapatalk is possibly a separate issue. Si

£89.00 euros = £78.90 pounds sterling current exchange rate as of Sept 2018 Plus shipping (postage) = £15 euros Which possibly could be rising slightly from early next year (2019) from what Chris has mentioned already. 535 853 687GRU grey primed rear script badge (brand-new) Then this new badge above is edited / changed by Chris to look like 535 853 687B GX2 (satin black/chrom special) Chris has said he can do: A) Chrome special affect B) Brushed alloy affect C) Red affect look Options above are £89.00 euros, you need to check with Chris though on availability or time wise if he has to run another batch. If you purchase from him several items, he possibly might do a deal on price for you, but you need to speak to Chris first. Si

Tank sealing resin can seal inside fuel tanks or swirl pots as a extra precaution especially as mine has been worked on, basically the transparent / clear sealing resin, will coat all welding seams or any small crevices within tank, well in my case my modified alloy swirl pot. The tank seal resin I've been looking at can be used on steel (also alloys), aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass and plastics such as carbon, Fiberglass, Kevlar, polyester or vinyl ester. The reason why I'm thinking about this is because my new alloy swirl pot, when I first bought it had a special anodizing lining process done to it inside that protects the inner alloy from strong fuels, which of course over time can eat through plastic or weaken alloy. So like I say as mine has been cut down and welded again a few times, this special anodizing lining attached to inner surface of swirl pot, has probably been burnt off or scraped away from all the recent work done on it. This was the advice from the fabricator and a few other people I've spoken to, so I might get some called: (Wagner one-component tank sealing resin) Ebay item number 192654130122 Si

I might be able to upload some photos or a small video of the new fog light lenses onto YouTube, I'm off work all this week but just a bit preoccupied with my fuel swirl pot that I got back from the fabricators on Monday. Si

€150 for mineral glass, grinded lenses. €190 for acrylic glass, optic similar to original lenses. As I purchased a few items from Chris he let me have the lenses for €140 with free shipping to the UK. I believe it's the acrylic plastic lenses I have. Like I say they're really good quality. Si

No I missed tonight's episode but will watch it on catch up. I've seen both the 1st & 2nd episodes though. The 1st episode the woman had a choice of a Porsche = £15000, a Honda 2000 £12500, and finally a bright yellow Austin Healey Sprite £19995 Yes and I thought she would choose the Porsche or maybe the Honda, but no she chose the bright yellow price tag of £19995 :shocked!: The second episode a guy had the choice of a Lotus Elise, VW Corrado VR6, and a Superlight R300. I can't remember the prices of the top of my head. He said he wanted something sporty, that could be used at the weekend, I really thought he might of gone for the Corrado, but no he had the Lotus  Si

Yeah that's exactly it just works out to expensive. Yes I believe the 044 pump comes complete with the none return value, I'll have to plumb in a separate one way valve on the return line from injectors just to be safe. Plus I'll fit a syphon filter to the base i.e the inlet on the 044 pump. Si
-
Yeah something along those lines, I was originally looking at that swirl pot in your photo, but thought that's going to be £250 to £300 just for the fuel swirl pot, so I opted for a cheaper one at £41 but would still house the Bosch 044 pump. Si

I've got all my notes / drawings / measurements of the old set up and the new set up. Plus I've left a copy of all my notes with the fabricator I know, just in case anything still needs changing / adjusting on my new fuel swirl pot, or if anyone else wants one doing in the future. Si

Right I've got some good news. I met up with the fabricator early doors this morning, as he wanted to see what I thought about what he'd done so far, with adapting the new alloy swirl pot close to the original plastic one as possible. Basically it looks mint he's cut away the bottom section just as I wanted, so originally it was 150mm X 150mm but it's been cut down by 40mm. The new measurements are now 150mm X 110mm The length and width are the same as 150mm only the height has been reduced down by 40mm to make it 110mm. This had to be done in my opinion because it was too deep before and also repositioned the inlet ports. Plus he's made / welded on a new bracket for the fuel accumulator very similar to the original set up. He charged me £230 for adapting my new alloy swirl pot, plus he modified the metal cradle bracket so I'll still be able to use it. I've just got to fit it and check everything is lined up ok, then I can replace the rear fuel pipes / hoses, and then get the fuel tank fitted back in. Like I say I've just got to check fitment, just to be sure nothing needs adjusting, but I think it'll be ok ? The fuel pump I'll be using is the Bosch 044 fuel pump £100 to £160 max for genuine Bosch, or £38 to £65 for 044 none genuine Bosch. 4 new spacer sleeves 191 201 278A 4 new Rubber mount buffers 191 201 274 4 new safety speed nuts 191 201 280A New alloy universal fuel swirl pot £41 But it needs fabricating. Fabrication of above swirl pot £230 So looks like the full spend so far will be around the £500 mark. But just got to replace the rear fuel pipes / hoses, and sort out some AN6 fuel fixings to attach to new modified swirl pot. So realistically I'd say £600 would cover your costs if any of you want to sort out your old warn fuel swirl pots on your 16v Corrado's. Si

Hello Chris, the rear Corrado script badges arrived today at approximately 2pm, thank you sir :salute: Chris the overall quality is again unbelievable they look awesome mate, the same with the rear License plate trim and front fog light lenses absolute top notch quality  If anyone wants any of these honestly you won't be disappointed, they're the chrome special badges. Also Chris sent some new blue clips which affix to the rear panel which hold the rear Corrado script badge in place. Thanks again Chris :thumbleft: Si

Chris has said we shouldn't use the normal original bulb as it'll get too hot for the new lenses and crack them, he's advised to only use LED bulbs with his new fog light lenses, so I'll find a LED that'll fit and let you know. I'm not just saying this, but Chris's reproduction fog light lenses are awesome. I've tried to post up some photos but I'm still not able to, if any of you want to see the lenses, then PM me your mobile number and I'll WhatsApp you over some. Si

No I haven't fitted them yet, but I do have a few spare sets of fog light units in the attic, one of them especially has seen better days so I can possibly strip that down and fit one of these new acrylic clear plastic ones. To be honest I bought a set of acrylic plastic fog light lenses off Ebay, about 18 months ago they look quite good and cost about £100 But they're not a patch on quality with the one's Chris has made, his are miles better quality just like the originals. Hello Chris, the rear License plate trim (number plate plinth) Part number 535 813 989 This reproduction item arrived today at approximately 2pm, thank you sir :salute: Chris the overall quality is unbelievable this looks 100% the same as the original one, just like with the fog light lenses you reproduced, the quality is absolutely spot on again, like I say excellent quality. This trim has the same raised lip at the back which helps it to locate in place, plus the same thickness it is bang on. If anyone wants one of these you won't be disappointed, this rear License plate trim looks like the genuine item in every way. Thanks again Chris Si

Hello there, the idle stabiliser valve (ISV) should vibrate / hum slightly when your engine is running, according to the Bentley manual for the 9A engine, If you think the (ISV) isn't working you can test it with a multimeter. ***(With 3 wire connector plug)*** With the ignition switched on, you should have 12v from the centre terminal in the plug, and approx 10v from the two outer terminals. Also you can check to see if the (ISV) it's self has continuity or not, by checking the resistance between the centre terminal and each of the outer terminals, if you don't have any continuity then the (ISV) must be dead. **(With 2 wire connector plug)** With the ignition switched on, you should have 12v from terminal 2 in the connector plug, also you can check continuity between the 2 terminals on the (ISV) if you don't see any on your multimeter then the (ISV) is dead. The (ISV) and (Cold start valve) on the MK2 Golf 16v / Corrado 16v with engine code 9A looks like the fuse for it is number 15 = (10amp fuse) Multi function indicator is fuse 16 (15amp) Also I think the MFI uses a vacuum to measure the volume i.e the amount of cylinder capacity usage to determine MPG or something like that, I think there's a sensor on the back of the instrument cluster, where a vacuum hose is connected which then goes through bulkhead and connects to the brake servo hose, right on or next to the one way valve which is plumbed into brake servo pipe behind inlet manifold. If the vacuum hose isn't connected or split then you won't receive / see any MPG readings from your MFI. Most of the time it's the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) which is at fault, when your electronic speedo isn't working. This sensor is attached to gearbox above the differential and connects to the speedo gear. But you've said that you tried a different sensor and had no joy. And you said you've tried a different instrument cluster. Sounds to me like you're not getting a signal from the VSS wheather that's a wiring fault or faulty sensor. Just seems strange how you've tried different parts and it's still not working. In theory you should be able to unscrew the VSS with the connector plug still attached, and turn the spindle drive within sensor you should see the speedo move, other then that it'll be a wiring problem possibly. The VSS plug has 3 wires, Power, Signal, Earth If you've got power and earth then it's got to be the signal wire that's at fault ? I'll have a look at the Bentley manual tomorrow after work and see what I can find. Si

Yes I think that's it, like I say in the Bentley manual it lists it as a socket sleeve which has a small pointer or arm that presses against the reverse switch once reverse gear is selected so to speak. Si
