  1. mine are fk jobbies and look cool on red cars
  2. You can buy the smooth panels that are direct fit for rado but it means you have to move number plate.EGAY do em for about £45
  3. Theres quite a bit about it on http://www.pumaracing.co.uk theres a calcclation that shows to every "x" amount removed from flywheel,in theory the car looses "x" amount of weight from its body. This means that having a lightened flywheel can make your car feel like youve shaved 200kg from the overall weight of the car. Mine revs up easier and feels livelier for it,no stalling issues either and my mrs drives the car asweell without noticing it
  4. got 1 on mine. The c 1s on the valvers are huge! i had mine done to half its weight with no downsides wot so ever
  5. I done the same on my valver but i also machined the spindles down and fitted countersunk screws, cos if you look in a valver 1,the screw heads are a restriction in themselves
  6. COOL 8) Hows it goin then??? Dont you just love it when a plan comes together!
  7. Get itoff and get it on your motor, then get another 1 and sell it to me
  8. UPDATE Latest golf mag has a 16v using a peugeot throttlebody possibly a mi 16??
  9. Im mirror polishing the inside of the inlet manifold cos only air passes through it not fuel/air mix. You need it slightly rougher in the head so the mix doesnt seperate causing the fuel to drop out of the air. I posted that link first
  10. I managed to get 162bhp for under £500 but i do my own labour. Give it a good service, including the k&n panel filter as stated before then you can think about cams. If your anywhere near stealth racing, they can get about 150bhp from a standard valver just by tweaking the fuelling etc they set mine up after the mods i did
  11. Flusted. Does this mean you will be getting more than 162 BHP soon?? We seem to have very similar spec cars. I did my head myself in the summer. I read a book before doing it, which helped me decide how far to go with it. Can't remember what it was called, but if anyone wants to know I'll find out. Also I found some very usefull cross section pics on vortex, which showed where the water ways are. Yeah,im guna try for a bit more with the 1.8 bottom end as theres no 2l near me  Ive mirror polished inside a 50mm manifold (as only air passes through that not fuelair mix) and am currently doin the head. Its worth noting that when the exhaust ports are mirror polished it prevents carbon which can cause pinking so you can get away with more timing advance. Im not guna open up the ports on mine, just smooth the access as theres quite a few bumps and dips in the standard casting. If anyone is guna do there own, check this out: http://www.sa-motorsports.com/diyport.shtm
  12. Im currently doin my own 1! its relativly easy. Not much to be gained by fitting 8v downpipe but it is well worth buying a stainless 4branch
  13. A mate said that you could wind down windows at mot time,as theres no saying you dont drive round all the time with windows open(obviously your not but who cares)That way you can open car from outside by reaching inside
  14. Im using a mk1 jobbie on my valver and have yet to see the oil go above 100 on the mfa
  15. Thinking of shaving my door handle off on the passenger side but not sure on mot laws  Anyone have any ideas?
  16. Yeah no probs mate £15 delivered sound cool??
  17. The 2.3 audi 1 is the same size as 16v 1,Mk1s came with a small throttlebody so thats a good mod for them. Ive got 3 spare 16v throtttle bodys!
  18. Has anyone come up with an idea for this? Whats the chances of getting a vr theottlebody to fit??? Went to the breakers to see if anything there could be used but nothin the right size

    coilovers

Bought em secondhand but i beleive they are about £800?

    coilovers

Im using h&r coilovers and considering how low the car is,it rides quite nice. I think garages use a 18mm bolt instead of 19mm to get camber adjustment on the struts

    coilovers

Archliners are long gone and i cannot take rear passenger at all. I live on the Isle of Wight and theres millions of pot holes but beleive it or not the tyres dont rub at the front on the wings, only on the inner aches on full lock. At the rear, the tyres are actually rubbing on the bodywork itself, not the arch or the lip (as thats missing) So unless your as crazy as me or your totally insane, you wont get it lower than that.

    coilovers

I beleive they are quite good. As for lowering, mines down 80mm and i would say its near impossible to go lower as my tyres scrub with rolled arches and car failed mot for being to low.i cant get my little finger between my tyres and car
  23. Got mine sorted now and they are fcuking bright 8) finally i can see
