  1. oh poop, i think that charger i bought is a m45
  2. I know it sounds silly but my reasons for change are 1. Need the cash to carry on with car so selling the g should cover it 2. The merc charger i got from a clk for £100 3. I like the sound they make
  3. i wasnt discussing it as in my engine, i just wanted to understand the thoery in general. Im on the case for a new chip as we speak for mine 8)
  4. Ok so from what i understand and correct me if im wrong, boost pressure builds up when theres a restriction ie no valve overlap and both valves shut? When you have flow work done the restrictions are less so the boost flows in and out the engine easier showing less pressure? (I know i havent worded that very well but someones more than welcome to write that in a more understandable way) So, if say a 68mm pulley makes 15psi but due to flow work your boost gauge only see's 11psi, what will the ecu see and set fuel to?
  5. Im tempted to ditch the g-lader and replace with an eaton m62. I know they are known for heating the charge air up but i have a huge FMIC and water injection. Do i bother or not? Im currently running a 68mm pulley on a stage 4 charger but dont want to over-rev it and thought the eaton might handle it better?
  6. at the moment it feels really slow compared too the 8v, im hoping its cos its leaning out running the red tops so just ordered some lime greens. Also snapped a belt in a big way at 7000rpm whilst a quick trip round the block :mad2: It might also feel slower as running the CTN box now
  7. if its a g60 you can tape the WOT switch close so the ecu ignores lambda
  8. thats brill to see the difference on th graph. sorry to hi-jack your thread but mine doesnt have a ported head and its a 1.8. do you think red tops with 3bar is too low? its basicaly a standard kr with lowered compression running a 68mm pulley
  9. how much boost you gettin? i tried mine round the block today with a 68mm pulley and it made 8psi?
  10. water/methanol doesnt just drop inlet temps it also helps to boost octane to even more timing can be added, im running it with my huge FMIC
  11. that is wicked!!! looking forward to the graphs. what spark plugs you running?
  12. when i re-ported my charger i cleaned it all up inside but when i put back togethe i only used charger lube. Do you think i should take it apart and wack a load of grease in there? What grease should i use as i dont have kluber?
  13. 8) what size charger pulley was that with? actually can you list spec of engine?
  14. not sure if this is any help but
  15. where can you get kluber grease?
  16. ive recently fitted mine, it was from a 95 passat into a 1990 16v. I had to use the later cable bracket that mounts with 3 bolt holes instead of 2 as i couldnt get reverse. So if youve got a ox to go in an early car, you will need a later cable bracket
  17. havent read that link but i can appreciate "scattered beam" with normal lenses but mine give a perfect beam pattern with projectors and theve been through mot with no worries. I know that doesnt make them "legal" but they are fitted to a 18 year old car
  18. theres a very cheap 42mm in forsale section
  19. yep as dec says, its for fan over run when you stop engine
  20. less duration means less valve overlap? meaning more boost?
  21. I got BMW projector headlights with a clear lense so im ok 8)
  22. so have you driven it with the ABf cams in? are they the 1s to have?
  23. didnt want to try the 65mm just incase i got used to it and then fitted the 68mm and there was a power drop. Think i might do as you say and still drive it to 6k rpm with 65mm on it
