carbon build up can cause pinking, some people ploish the piston tops to prevent build up
-
woah chill people! My cars made of cable ties so im happy to try a pump but i understand some people who arent prepared to take short cuts to save money

does anyone run a 60 or 62mm pulley on there G60?

65mm is pushing it but ive read of americans running 58mm pulleys  Im happy with my 65mm toothed kit although it still needs adjusting. Il let you have a go when everything is sorted and im pretty sure you will be convinced to go 65mm  -
all kjet cars will have the 2 pump system.
-
That sounds right. No need for a dumpvalve as the boost is dumped out the bottom of throttlebody
-
Ive just gone to a 65mm and its brilliant. Dont try and aim for high psi numbers as this just shows that your engine is wasting boost. Ive hit 18psi on a boost gauge with it though. You wont really be able to rev the engine over 6k though

i was guna ask for 1 for xmas  if it included bothe airbox and cone type i reckon there might be a bit of interest

88-on mk2s use the same calipers as do passats

someone should arrange a group buy for the twin inlet kits?
-
UPDATE Thanks: newcomer: Revs just drop when started

isv is the cylinder shape component about 4" long and its located on the far right hand side of the inlet manifold with a plug on it. Try unplugging it and see what happens Could be a air leak somewhere, the rubber inlet boots can split on the underside. -
didnt know there was a mark on the rocker cover  There is another dot but i didnt look to see where it was facing, will check tommorrow
-
Im running twin cones and they only drone between 2-3k otherwise you dont really hear them
-
Just checking out my timing marks today and not sure if i am a tooth out? Car pulls very well low down but appears to tail off higher up rpm. Hate the marks on the 8v as never sure if its inline with head or rocker cover? Possibly the cam is a tooth advanced? Heres the pic

Ive got 1 on mine andy! same as late mk2 golf 88-on got mine from allard motorsport Only thing bad about them is you can burn you hand on them
-
Also k-jet appears to be best for power gains. Nice write up by riley (i wrote it  )
-
can i join in andy?
-
hit 18 today
-
Im hitting 16psi with my charger
-
i basically made all my pipe work from scratch using a 2.5 inch stainless exhaust cut up so i had numurous bends etc, then used samco pipes to join it all. its basically having to go totally custom but i did mine for well under £100
-
but he wont suck it up as its just a tube thats not connected too the filter
-
sounds ok. People forget that pressure is a measurement when theres resistance. You will see less boost with a flowed head as the engine is using the boost up. I didnt explain that well did i?
