Can sort of sympathise with the organiser´s comments, also re: punctuation, grammar (or lack of) and judging on type of person, in most instances the judgment is true, also judging by initial posting despite having known the rules. Find it fasvcinating how a forum beats the crap out of an innocent goodwill charitable event. Wears flamesuit, and quite honestly doesn´t give a damn, as there will be loads of others quietly agreeing with me, but not risking to speak out. Definitely an age thing. The rear engine mount was easy. The rear gearbox mount I realised I needed a 13 mm deep socket for my ratchet to access one of the 2 bolts that holds the gearbox mount in place, which I didn't have at the time, and hence wasted a bit of time trying to use my existing tools  In principle easy to do, too. The front engine mount I removed the fan shroud to gain better access to the bolt holding the mount to the cross member. You also will need a few extension bars to get down to the front engine mount bolt. Can't remember whether I needed to slightly move the radiator, too, but don't think I had to. All in all do-able within a good Saturday. Delays with me occurred because I needed a deep socket 13 mm socket and I was waiting for the VT mount to arrive. Tempest

Can't help with doing the work, too far away from where you are, but have done it some time ago on my own G60. Went for standard rear mounts, Vibratechnics front mount. I did it with my C parked outside on alley way at the rear of where I live, sand path, no tarmac, used planks to place axle stands on, and used 2 jacks to left various bits of car/engine/gearbox to undo/replace the relevant mounts. Do-able, once you lie underneath and have a good look. Tempest

Thanks for organising this one, Andy, seem a good few days were had by all. Too close to my annual pilgrimage across the little pond (Club Roadstar in Boekel, NL), otherwise I´d have made an appearance. Tempest -
That´s no excuse. When I did my motorway driving training as part of my German license, I also lived about 1 hour or so away from the nearest motorway, so the driving instructor just said: ¨Next Saturday, that´ll be a 3-hour drive, then. 1 Hour on town roads and A roads to get to the motorway, then 1 hour drive on the motorway and 1 hour A-roads and town driving back home. Simple.¨ Tempest

Just had a good read at my local Asda, where they already had said issue on the shelf. Nice read indeed. Tempest

Cool, and lucky winner. Indeed, more detail would have been interesting. Tempest

When I came to GB (had and still have a German EU license) I was amazed to learn that motorway driving is not taught at driving school. And this I do not know whether that is actually legal in GB, but it certainly is not in Germany. Traffic wishing to come onto a motorway needs to yield to traffic already on the motorway, and must not hinder traffic on the motorway (by making said traffic move to a different lane). As a matter of fact if during your driving test in Germany onto the Autobahn you fail to get onto the motorway (the trick is adapting your speed to the traffic already on said motorway) and run out of feeder lane, that´s a fail! Only have 1 Scirocco left, the Mk1, which can´t get onto the uneven grounds at Stonor, so the Corrado it is :) Tempest

Uh, yes, it's all happening here these days :) Tempest
