Andy T 0 Posted March 11, 2006 Fitted new knock sensor, and moved the connector bracket slightly as the old cable was rubbing against the oil filter/exchanger unit. Great. Then I noticed coolant had leaked slightly from the plastic water flange I replaced a few months back, and that there was a bit of mayo under the filler cap - Arrghhh looks like the head gasket might be on its way out! :(

StuartFZR400 0 Posted March 13, 2006 Finally found that anoying rattle noise coming from the engine bay. Having gotten worse over the last 3 months, we threw it up on the lift. Its was simply the heat sheild to the down pipe that meets the cat; so just clipped it and all's well. Wierd not to hear it at 2k-revs now, lol. Kevin Bacon 5 Posted March 13, 2006 I got advisories on my headlights at the last MOT. I checked them over a week ago and I could see what they meant, most of the chrome on the reflectors has 'worn' off. So I replaced both lamps and also put the proper VW plugs on the end of the uprated loom ends to make life easier when taking the lamps out.
