  1. Try Pistonheads/eBay as well. Must admit when I was looking I focused on those sites rather than here (seems silly in hindsight!)
  2. Looking superb Keyo. I’ve bought the cup holder too! I think the new colour combo on the refurb’d wheels will looks great. Love the speedlines for ease of cleaning though!! If things don’t go too mad at Stealth I’m hoping to stretch to the exhaust. Golf is looking good in the background 👌
  3. Yay - long live the manual. I once had a DSG in a Leon FR and hated it. I became lazy and left it in drive and never got on with the way it used to always jump to the highest, most fuel efficient gear possible. Especially crossing A-Road style roundabounts where it always went into 4th on exit when I just wanted 3rd for a little longer, que stamping the peddle and kick down to 2nd made for a bloody irratating drive. I know I could overide it with the paddles but at that point I'd may aswell be getting the full manual experience. My 2pence.
  4. Haha I did think about adding the chav comment to the list :) You are correct though. It's probaby 50/50 around my way. I never used to like white but I do like the crisp-ness of a clean white car. My other car (family estate - a late Seat Exeo Sport) is also white! Sounds a nice spec yours, did you go manual or dsg?
  5. I might have over estimated the stage 1 - 260bhp? Depends where you read.
  6. Good choice, I would take the GTI over the R any day ... 1) Less likely to get stolen 2) Smaller turbo so spools up quicker and more linear to drive 3) Over 100kilo's lighter 4) More heritage and imo they look a lot nicer. 5) GTI handles really well, for me the main benefit of the 4wd is for quick launches but that's not something I'd partake in. As for remap stage 1 shouldn't cause you any problems and that will get you to around 310 bhp. I'm not sure if Vince @ Stealth tunes these newer cars on the rolling road? Personally I'd want a map matched and tuned to my car rather than a generic revo/superchips etc. and I know Stealth will do a proper job. Pictures please when you're ready :)
  7. Hi, I've got a couple of uniroyal rainsports on the front (Bridgestones ont the back). They grip well and don't feel soft to drive on. Limited experience to compare against on the Corrado but I did have the Bridgestones up front and the Uniroyals at the rear for a while and don't notice any difference. That said uniroyals are known for having a softer tyre wall, however reviews and experiences read elsewhere state the compliance helps when pushing on in real life vs overly stiff tyres, Give them a try? There is not much choice these days.
  8. Does look lovely! If that was a mk2 golf it would be double the price or more in that condition.
  9. Indeed, I smell a troll. The kit I purchased was great and when I contacted customer service as I didn’t receive the original item in the post the sent me out another, received the next day.
  10. I don't think I could entertain those suspenion turrets! My car has a layer of wax over them (and other metal work in the bay) so i'm suprised to see it's rusting there.
  11. Tut tut. Jim clearly didn't want to take the pi$h and I just hope he was happy with what he got. Aroon (Harry) seller is taking the pi$h in our enthusiast and know what stuff costs eyes, but he might sell it for close to that and if he does then prices are undervalued in some circles.
  12. Sorry late reply - I too used Furniture Clinic
  13. I sometimes have a leftfield taste in cars, aside from a lot VW's, Audi's and Merc's mentioned from the era I also like: Vauxhall Carlton (Dad had a couple and always liked that era of Vauxhall's headlight design, dislike modern 1990s+ Vauxhalls tho) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Carlton-2-0-CDI-Automatic-Estate-992-Only-64500-Miles/223497640840?hash=item34097f5b88:g:EgIAAOSwF1hcxdE~ or the Senator https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rare-1992-vauxhall-senator-cd-3l-24v-history-99p-no-reserve/202661784918?hash=item2f2f956d56:g:PB0AAOSwj4hcwZ7u BMW E34 and E30 (like the E39's too - Dad had a 530d and 525i "individual") https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-525i-SE-E34-1995-Auto-great-condition/163642923970?hash=item2619e0dbc2:g:-LIAAOSw619crafn I watch HubNut on youtube for reviews of "rubbish" old cars. Oddly these cars are more interesting than the sea of PCP/leased modern cars around today.
  14. Indeed, my own drives much nicer with regular use! That said I've not used it for 2-3 weeks and now the battery is flat though :( Must find that draw at somepoint - dies after a week of being left.
  15. This VR is looking great @ 318k https://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/volkswagen/corrado/288832?fbclid=iwar0rqfhlnbf0ygffjal0vgrqg5behcatg23_jcr44gf2aeolcnjyy9bywbi Lots of work must have gone into it but I bet that mileage will put most off sadly. I doubt there are any parts on that car that have actually done 318k without replacement or refurb.
  16. Good advice on Amos given. These wings are a nightmare to source. Good luck, but something will turn up - a chap was looking recently and managed to get a couple within a weeks. Are you using facebook? Might get a wider coverage on your search.
  17. Yes I used one to great effect on my steering wheel and gear knob - see my thread for detail and pictures. It was really easy to do and both feel great in the hand now. Car felt old with the tatty old finish prior. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?108687-My-Candy-White-VR6/page3
  18. Good work, I didn't have the confidence to tackle chains on mine so sending it in to Stealth. I'm having them do the same as you're thinking, head refurb, new head gasket but naturally if the cylinders are fecked then I'll consider other options. I've fitted the B12 kit (remember to get revised rear springs - see my members ride thread for full details!). It's a great set up on the Corrado.
  19. Good question, I should have elaborated on my reply - as you're taking the wishbone off you'll probably need to crack off the ball joint and anti-roll bar drop links - so you'd may as well replace these too. You can get complete wishbone arms with the new bushes fitted. Might be an easier way to tackle, but you'll probably not find one with the R32 bushes pre-installed. I was going to do the job and analysed it in some detail but decided to let the garage do it with some other work as my driveway slopes making it difficult to get both wheels on the front axle at the same time. I wanted to replace the ARB bushes and both wheels needed to be off the ground to do it.
  20. It depends how the system has been set up. We have a process where old emails are no longer available in outlook but we have an archiving piece of software (mimecast) where we can login and get emails all the way back to years and years ago. Maybe you guys have something similar - so yes it goes from outlook after 180 days but emails are available in archiving software. I’d be surprised if your company deleted them as the information can be called up in the future for many things - HR stuff, legal stuff - hence why only write business relevant stuff on work emails (note for anyone reading - not you Rob)
  21. If it's MS Outlook (the application) and you've got the deleted email to hand, click properties (or hit ALT and ENTER as a short cut). Look at the modified date and this will equal when it was deleted, assuming it wasn't modified after it was deleted.
  22. Hey - is it Hotmail/Yahoo or something like Microsoft Outlook (as installed on many work computers to manage emails "offline" within an application)
  23. Wishbone would need to be removed and old bushes pressed out. It is possible to do this at home with some circular hole drill cutters to press out (see youtube ). I've gone for the R32/LCR bush upgrade (to be fitted in june). These are solid rubber rather than the originals that have cut outs in the bush, not a still as poly but a supposed upgrade on any non LCR/R32 car where the bush is the same size. Part No Meyle (HD) 100 407 0073/HD about 12 quid each
  24. Did you go for resonated or non-res? I am really tempted to just get it done. I've listened to a sound clip of the non-res Milltek on youtube and it sounds great. The bottom end is pretty strong on these, fingers crossed you'll be just fine. I'm unsure whether my head has been off but do have a small oil leak from the headgasket at the rear of the engine (under mainfold) that can't be traced back to the rocker so maybe it has been done (badly) or is needed. I shall find out in June! It must be nice to have something to drive that's now known to be in fine health.
