    Oil cooler leak

When mine was a 16v it did this exactly, looked identical, i changed all the gaskets and shit around there and when i fired the car up again it was still spewing oil out, it turned out that it was coming of that sensor, aye that one there, the white one, wied i know but hey, new sensor off the dealer, 7 notes, sorted. Check it out, clean all the crap off and stare at the sensor while someone fires up the car, if its the sensor some oil will blob out of the sensor

    Oil cooler

Find your oil filter, big (should be) black thing, a wee bit bigger than a tin of coke, around front engine mount area and the thing its attached to is your oil cooler
  14. Right, im doin this from memory and while im at work so heres hopin im not missin anything out. Take off the steering wheel, to do this prise off the horn cover and then undo the massive nut behind it, i think its a 30mm or 26mm, pretty big. Once the wheels off you can take off the column shrounds, 2 phillips head screws on each side, quite recessed and very fiddly but persevere. You should now pretty much be able to see what your doin now, head on there are 3 long screws that hold the indicators on, undo them and unplug them, 4 big multi plugs if i mind right, once all thats apart the stalks will slide off. Replace the guff one with the one you bought and re fitting is the reverse of removal ('mon mannie haynes :)) Go for it man, its not hard at all, just keep your head together and think about it

    Oil cooler

Aye i removed all the old gubbins, joined the water pipes up with the mk1 hoses, all done properly, i recently drove 100 mile trip and by th etime i came into the city and stopped in traffic the oil temps were rollin about the 120-130 range, now thats high, its about 100 when im shiftin on but when i stop it starts to get pretty warm and in turn the water temp goes up too but i know they are linked, doesnt sound right does it??

  20. Ive had one for a while now, all i did was purchase the gaiter and surround, then i had an old grey standard gearshift surround (easy to get cos everyone is goin black) sat in the car for a bit tryin to find the right spot for it, drilled a few holes once it was lined up right then covered it in vinyl, job done!!
