  1. One of the prospective buyers of my car had a HPI check done on my car and according to them in 1995 my car had a full respray in burgandy pearl and that it used to be grey. I know this is bollocks because ive basicly had the car to a bare shell and the whole thing is burgandy, not a hint of grey, under the carpet, bulkhead, all purple, i wouldnt take it to heart man

  3. this is very true, when they're good, they're good, but when they suck by god do they suck
  4. All the mounts together should be about 100 notes ish if you buy from GSF or some place like that, i fitted mine myself so i cant tell you about costs, pretty easy job to be honest, only one that takes a bit of pissing about with is the rear engine one

    G60 oil pressure

    in the mornin it sits at about 60-70 psi, once its all warned up its about 10-15 psi at idle, dunno if thats right but thats what mine does and its not dead yet

  10. Nope never run, ive never disconnected the alternator, just disconected the battery to charge it and put it back in again
  11. Yep it sure does, but once the car is running the light goes out, surely if the circuit isnt charging correctly then the light would show on the dash, isnt that the whole point of it being there??
  12. I greased up the battery terminals today and charged it, i bunged it back in the car and put the voltmeter accross it, its now reading 12 volts, ill try changin the brushes/regulator as i have a spare one, it bloody weird like
  13. Thats the thing my alternator is a genuine vw one as well, brand new 8 months ago
  14. Its a G60 mate, self tensioning eh, ill investigate the cable running from the alternator to the battery, its the only thing in the setup that isnt well new
  15. The brushes were new with the alternator but ill investigate, Student - yeh that was measured at idle
  16. Cheers for that man thats ace, i charged up another battery and lobbed it in, when i fired up the car the voltage accross was 12.6v, should be 14v right?? The thing is the alternators only 8 months old, anything else that could be causing the lack of charge?? Can the battery drain through the alternator?? Cheers guys
  17. The altenator is about 8 months old, i dont think the lights go dim, any of you guys know how i can test the drain on the battery with a multimeter, ill just go hauling out fuses till im on a winner

My car has started munchin its way through batterys, i thought it was just a guff battery so i replaced it with a bosch silver top mother, by this morning it wouldnt even turn, plenty clicks from the starter tho, the thing is when i check to see how much voltage is in the battery it says 14 odd volts, odd?? If i put the battery on charge for an hour everything is mint for a couple of days Any suggestions?? There is no boot light before anyone suggests that one :D Cheers
  19. Type of rad do you have man?? 16v, G60, Vr6?? That will help, a pic would also do wonders for some responses
  20. If it is slipping what can you do to remedy apart from a toothed belt conversion?
  21. Merc sprinter intercooler, cheap as chips, make up your own pipes and off you go, not gonna come anywhere near 600 notes, infact so far its lookin like its gonna cost me about 100 Mind you i managed to get the cooler for free
  22. Nah i took that off ages ago man, it was knockin off the subframe so it got turfed On a side note rodders that on the other side of the car

There is a noise coming from my passenger side area on the car, its like a rubbery clunking noise which apears when i go over bumps and stuff, if the cars been sitting over night then it takes maybe 5 or 10 mins for the noise to appear. The car has new VR6 top mounts, new botton balljoints, new wishbones, new trackrod ends, new drive flange and wheel bearing. I can recreate the noise by pushing up and down on the passenger side of the car. I was pretty convinced it was the coilover but i took it off checked it and it looke dfine, i replaced it with another one anyway but the noise is still there Any ideas guys, its hampering the enjoyment of my G60 mobile :(

    thay make a tapping noise because they are wee solenoids, they're electric, thats your noise man
