No dealt some genius in a British or Irish University will come up with the idea and then the Germans, Yanks and the Japaneses will sell it back to us, our government for many years does not know how to make money out of money by means of investment, -

In the UK when a car becomes 40 years old it is tax and MOT exempt so a true pleasure to own. It use to be 25 years old, that would be great as most Rado's would have been exempt by now. However some cities do a smog rule but classic cars will be exempt, the 40 years old is great!!! -

Any good Corrado owner keeping these on the road deserves a bursary off VW , as Mercedes use to say before the accounts took over from the engineers in the mid 90s, the best advertisement for a car company is seeing there cars sill on the road and we will help the owners by keep making the parts. Also not helping the Corrado is the Golf boys nicking parts for VR5 conversions to wide track. -

Glad to here that, although the Rado is a better built car, rarer and a whole lot more then the Golf the parts are rare a rocking poops and more tech in the car to go wrong, thankfully there are a few engineering companies out there to refurbish them. But one of the reasons I hanging on to the golf is it will be a less stressful car to keep on the road with parts like arch panel repair both sides for 40 nippers. Only £50 for a brand new front wing. Heritage have done so much for the Golf but so little for the Rado its bad really .Its suits me to keep the Golf as I have no garage for the Rado to preserve , with the golf I can buy a wing and get it sprayed and fitted for £300.00 and it will last the next 15 years or so. Brand new Bonnett £88........... -

Hard to say really , as a member on here I would certainly be looking to recoup a large amount of the money for purchasing something that was new, but at the sametime been reasonable to fellow members. If you got the part cheap then why not let it go for a fair amount and it will sell quick. -
Thanks Delfins. The obsolete crew will come out of the shadows to gather their annual bounty ha !

Also have a brand new windows seals around the front door windows inner and outer , for the x4 seals it cost a whopping £620.00 from VW classics. These are close to been obsolete I was told and a couple of the pieces took six weeks to arrive from Heritage, Would be ideal for someone who has their car in for paint to finish it off and have the window sliding up down like new on the velvet guide. Let me see how the sale of my car goes but these will be all parts lightly to be available, also have lots of obsoletes used coolant hoses, just to many parts to mention. -

I to have these in brand new packaging just part of the Brummie part hoard based in the Midlands, could be available soon. -
Lol I knew that was coming, I have got a Mk7 golf GTI and to be honest Im bored of it all ready and hasn't lost any value, so I could sell that as have orders I can have only two cars on the driveway, just see how the sales goes, I couldn't stomach renovating another Rado ,diagnosing what the car needs, building parts up for months searching for rare parts, and waiting for a good mechanic. There is one major thing I don't like about my Corrado and that is after all this hard work, I have no space in the Garage to keep her as a third of the garage has been extended into my house for a WC, also rammed full of fishing stuff and car parts, not a big fan of covers they do more harm then good IMO. So this is also on my mind for the preservation of the cars present condition.

Thanks for your kind word Cressa, don't worry Ill be pestering on here for bits about my golf and don't plan to join any other VAG forum. Lets see how the sale goes, If I don't get a healthy amount back for the VR I may have to re think things.
-
Thanks Shaun, the car is great it just there is arch bubbling but once the new owner has done that they got a show car a lot cheaper then it would cost most to get to that standard. I do think the Corrado have bad values because the only ones that you really see come on the market are tired.
-
Hi Geri, It is a complete stinker ! I'll see how the sale goes as Im not going to give that car away , all the hours I have spent studying diagrams and ordering/researching the best quality parts if the OE ones were obsolete. The other problem I have is drive space as Im constantly asking HRH to move her car etc and shuffling them about, I need to go from three to two cars as she has one as well, one modern as a daily and one classic.
-
Thanks Rob it is a bitter pill to swallow to be honest as its such a rare car and these are very close to rising, just the fact there are only three on Autotrader for the whole of the UK should tell peoples something. I would like to see it go to a good home. Maybe a a previous Corrado owner or someone who has a Rado all ready but the car is to far gone.
-
Thanks for your kind words Si. There are three on Autotrader at the moment , for a few K more you get a car that has a 1k Shrick plus 10K spent on it, so I think it is a fair price and anyone that can do simple maths should be able to work out Im well out of pocket  I think its fair game to ask questions about the golf on here because it shares a lot of the parts with the Corrado , also I don't plan on joining any Golf Forums as there are a lot idiots in the Golf world that their first priority is destroying them by making bad decisions for the cars. Also I think a lot of Corrado owners have owned Golf's like Geri and I think Fen has. Si

Hi Guys, This may come to a shock to some of you but yesterday I went out my way to take the Rado out for a good drive. The reason been I have had the orders from Her Ladyship that I have too many cars and must sell the Rado to complete My Mk2 golf 16V renovation , some of you might think badly of this but I have a lot of history with the Golf as I saved up for two years as a nipper then after three weeks my car got stolen and was recovered, however the car was wrecked and the Insurance refused to pay out as it did not have a an Immobiliser as declared, the last owner who sold it me said it did but I suppose you could say I learnt the hard way.I had to let the car go and was devastated as did not have the funds to put her back together again,I actually caught a plane 6 months later to Sydney to work on the Homebush Stadium pre olympics as everything I had worked for was taken away from me and needed a change. The car that got stolen was registration H479 UGK , my golf 16v now is H540 UGK and the same colour everything, so it has huge sentimental value and this car Im keeping for life. Here is a link to the Rado guys, I'm not expecting anyone to buy it off here, I just wanted to let you know I'm selling it guys, and for those that say wow that's much, speak to the people that know how much it costs to get the cars to this level. I have spent at least 10k on her and that's not including buying her, and she comes with the shrickie dickie . This car will be a survivor as I spent all the money in the crucial places, just the last bit of body work to do to get the car up to show. Also to add once the car is sold there will be a lot of new and used obsolete parts for sale that I have stashed away as I believe the buyer of the car should have first pickings, Almost thinking of doing a garage sale at my house . Please wait intill I have sold the car to ask what I have as I really don't want to sell this car.
