  1. Just wish they would sort out the goddamn pictures for a start.
  2. Do you still have any unicorn pars Kev , ie VDO gauges , schrick manifolds etc.
  3. Another nightmare are the motorways, HGV numbers have gone up by 60 % since the boom of internet shopping, why oh why they didnt use the infrastructure of the old railways lines in the last 20 years or so to build the supermarkets etc is beyond me, and now they have shut the emergency lane in my city on the motorways with this crappy smart motorway system, so many people are going to be in fatal collisions with HGv when they brake down in the slow lane and there is now layby to rest in. Horrific planning from central government, for christ sake I use do scaffolding in the old rover works and they even had their own railway that loaded the cars, we have gone backwards.
  4. I'm not 100 percent sure, I think the chap is called Toby, others will know better , members are concerned about the survival of the site , there is a thread about the future of the forum that is on here a couple of months back.
  5. Yeah same as me, you get lucky after 20 hrs and 10 password resets it's a headache. Members have been unable to post pictures on here for the last month or two and as you know a picture can tell a million words so a real pain to be honest. Occasionally you see a member has posted a picture but it wont let me do it and the majority of members.
  6. Agreed the guy that did my MOT yesterday was telling me how his Cavalier Turbo was written off by a lady who didn't see him because of the sun in her eyes, however at the same time was logging in to facebook on her Iphone whilst putting on here lipstick and sipping a coffee at the same time.

    Upgraded light loom

Thanks Fen , my budget does not cover for that much but Im sure you have found the best one on the market! Anyone else come up with anything ? Im sure I read on here that a member was making them ? Found this as well off ebay ??? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-Mk-2-Golf-Uprated-Headlight-Wiring-Loom-Upgrade-Headlights/322309016982?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144
  8. Same here had the same problems logging in the last 24 hrs. I found for some reason that if you tick the remember me box after filling your password and email in it would then let me log in.
  9. What is the going rate for a stock engine VR6 rebuild these days, say if you was going up to enlarge the old bores 2.9 to 3.0 liters, head refreshed etc. Jared any ideas or anyone else /.
  10. The passenger side main beam light is working intermittently , I have an old aftermarket upgraded loom on it and I have to wiggle the cable near to the relay and it sorts it out. Was just wondering , have seen soom uprated looms on ebay for about £25.00 , does anyone know the best one available on the market at the moment and where to source it? Here is the one on ebay. Is this the best one to buy https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vw-golf-mk1-mk2-mk3-uprated-headlight-loom-harness-corrado-gti-Scirocco-Vento/292804895796?_trksid=p2485497.m4902.l9144 Thanks

    ABS upgrade

Got to say Im no expert on this matter but a lighter Corrado with a four cylinder block is not that much difference then a Mk2 Golf which the majority had no ABS I believe, so maybe not a bad call to remove the abs system because there are so many damn thighs to go wrong. In regards to the VR much heavier and more power so it would probably be a bad idea to remove. On another note My VR passed with no advisories today so very happy that have a years green card.
  12. Ok Just to confirm my piggy ECU is grey as well.
  13. Just thought about this and no because the signal from the ECU initially triggers the air container that releases pressure to lift the solenoid flap it that makes sense.
  14. I think the ECU piggy on mine is white or Grey. Does anyone know a bit of history about them. Could you order it from a VW Dealer in the UK ? If not was it a German order from Vortex os something ? Were they marketed for the Corrado or Golf MK3 ? How many units were sold and how much were they new ? How many years were they available for sale? Thanks
  15. Not sure about that but I would imagine that a Shcrick ECU piggy would do the same job as VSR piggy and work on either , although the only problem is both are rare , no dealt it will be a right pain if these little piggies ever get water damaged.
  16. That black box is a piggy back Ecu that will connect to the existing ECU , all it does is receive a signal from the ECU RPM that will then signal to the solenoid to trigger the flap at the desired setting, tends to be set at 4000 revs, looks the same set up as Shcrick just with slightly different colour/ shaped parts/connectors. It will be designed to plug and play with a stock VR6 ECU.
  17. Here are the Shrick instructions if that is a help. https://autotech.com/instructions/i129020K.pdf
  18. Does the VSR have a piggy back ECU like the Shrick and a solenoid that moves the flap , I don't know much about the VSR to be honest.
  19. Hi JN, Hope all is well. Had to refund the deposit and got the asking price, had three phone calls on the day I took her off Autotrader. Since then have had offers over the 10K mark to put her back on the market, but I'm not selling have spent far too much on the car not to enjoy her for the near future. The value for good examples for these cars are only going one way as folks that own these vehicles rarely let go of them by the looks of it. Also have some nice new BBS RX226 alloys to go with BBS split rims that I will swop out so def not selling as buying parts again:bonk: . Picked the car up from the body shop today she is looking immaculate. Off to Caffeine and Machine in Warwickshire midday tomorrow if anyone fancies peoples . What I really need to do now is find her some dry storage over winter as this was one of the reasons I nearly let her go.
  20. Best not to put your happy to pay x amount, if someone was going to make them and was going to sell cheaper they could see Im happy to pay and raise their retail value. I have come across a plastics manufacturer in Eastern Europe who sold me some MK2 golf big bumper arch trim sets plus side side skirt trims x2 and jack flaps, delivered for £150.00 and great quality , VW retail would of been in the regions of £600.00 . Two of the arches are obsolete from VW for the set and the side skirt trims. They are also manufacturing lights, metal fittings all sorts. Here is the seller. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-GOLF-JETTA-MK2-89-92-WHEEL-ARCH-TRIM-MOULDING-4-PCS-SIDE-SKIRT-SET-2-PCS/174025490018?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 They have risen in price in 1 month from social media and the great feedback, thankfully I got them for £150.00 You can see from their items for sale they are making obsolete parts for various make and models.
  21. My exact thoughts mate. By the way Im heading up to Caffine and machine in Warwickshire if anyone is about this Sunday from Midday. This French company actually states send your parts in to get recreated. These spring straight to mind. Door screw caps Tailgate push rod plate Seat tilt handles Bonnet trumpet set
  22. Oh got ya definitely one for classics then same as the window scrapers. Is that fact they don't own the L on the late headlights maybe an Investigation for VW Rule . I'm up for spots and indicators if your listening classics.
  23. Just an update on these clips , I spoilt my car yesterday to 10 of the scuttle clips as now on offer 1.40 E each rather then 5.40 E. Also got myself 3 of the front grill bottom O rings as half price and a fuse clip for 5 Euro.
  24. Have Hella ever been known to run out another batch , wouldn't that just be great if they made some new spots and front indicators, has anyone ever contacted them ?
