  1. Very good mate very impressed - they have the odd surprising thing OE Vag in stock as well that even classis do not have- came in very handy whilst restoring the G60. If its green means in stock and posted pretty damn quick- if in red means its in Germany classics warehouse but they are a lot quicker posting
  2. Depends on your roof tile what your using mate clay or concrete ? - I’ve sorted my tiles out now went for dreadnought Staffordshire blue and an arris hip tile which I’m a big fan of as no mortar required on ridges and gives a sharp look - also sorted my timber out - if your having issues contact me once I’ve got mine and I will pass you a couple of contacts . Tiles are same brand im using on garage as main house .
  3. You got it in one on the caps . Yep I will be pulling the add later have financed the garage build through other means by not making a sale on the car - i have seen standard grotty low mileage vr6 sell for the same price with ancient running gear and cancer rot - it’s best the car stays we me as the custodian for the near future as no chance someone getting this car admired at car shows and paying peanuts for it . It is a sight and a half having all three cars lined up with the three sport variants of that era from Vw . Yes in between house and garage have 4 meters - can just get a roller one so can be reclined in high winds or snow .
  4. LLL parts Mecatechnic France are very good and only £5.50 delivery - much quicker then classics or Heritage- they are my no1 company I use now. Heritage I will use if genuine vag and in stock if not I avoid as takes far to long (6- 8 weeks)and they are very incompetent. https://www.mecatechnic.com/en-GB/
  5. Garage build started today the cars have gone over to a safe drive way away from building debris . First hurdle to get over is dreadnought clay tiles told me it’s a 30 week wait - so will be looking for the most durable under felt and might pop a temp scaffold roof over her . Will also be ringing up the sales guy to annoy the shite out of him every three days in till he breaks . The G60 has not gained any solid offers which Im sort of glad in a way as my love for her has grown significantly now I have not had to spend any more money on her, 90 percent sure she will be staying now - such a special car that one . Also looking at maybe a future daily there is nowt I would desire to own - all plastic chromy looking throw away appliances- cant compare a Karmann built car to one of these modern chocolate tea pots . Ive come up with a cunning plan Im going to put up an awning on the side of the garage I can fold in and out to shade the car as baking sun can be one of the harmful things to car.

Congratulations - G60 rado finally getting the respect it deserves - great colour LA9V ive got it on my Mk2 16v really does make a car.
  7. This is the Mk3 diagram for 288 calipers. If you click on the info button far right of each part number it shows you all the vag vehicles they came on. - it also shows part number for carries so you can compare if same part number as matt exeo is it on etka . https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/golf/go/1997-184/6/615-615040/#1
  8. Your friend is a lucky chapy was a great car- if you ever need a Porsche tech not sure where your based but an ex Porsche master tech I use to use - he know works for Mclaren but does foreigners on the weekend at his froend garage near the Belfry Golf course- exceptional mechanic - he is about 6 times cheaper in labour then indies and worked at Sutton Coldfield Porsche for 15 years . It was pretty funny once he opened his jacket and had s trip of ims bearings he showed me - was a bit like del boy - he would do that job for around 350 all in. Your engine can go up to 3..8 - can only go up 0,2 in an M96 - M97 can go up to to 4.
  9. There is also a mk3 broker called Leo GS on fb - normally sells them between £40 and £60 a set - his on Facebook.
  10. Seen a set earlier on ebay claimed to be refurbished for 75 so if that is the case good value. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115423815540
  11. Its true sometimes I do lust after a high power daily but soon escapes my mind when i troll through classifieds and see a bill of 15 k and a bill for 20 k and so on. Looking back to 2015 that's why I got a Mustang as had a three year warrantee and for a V8 5.0 for 32 k seemed a great bargain ( not anymore! )- to add I sold it after a year and got my money back due to a waiting list- in fact I have not checked lately but it was the most undepreciated vehicle in the UK- I would say a ford V8 would be much more reliable then one of these Germain V8 or v6 twin turbo. Ford did have a lot of issues with the ecoboost 4 cylinder in the Mustang though I believe with head crack - same pretty much as the block in an RS.
  12. Also mate Im noticing real cheap vacuum lines and solenoids that seem to fall apart after a few years - and say you need an evap solenoid they make you buy the whole lot so means it could be in for 2k for a £50 solenoid which they wont even have a part number on . Another thing it seems hard to get parts for any car over 10 years now for vag and other brands - they really dont give a damn about keeping parts going as want you to but a new car- I suppose they are prepping us for electric- it will be like a microwave or dish washer once the batteries have gone car will be junked like an electrical appliance .
  13. Dont it just- from what im seeing on modern cars though I wouldn't whack 40 k on one unless under warrantee as they are so poorly made now with so many 3 k parts and things buried in the engine with huge labour costs- I can also see the new B9 audi RS + S models are shitting there pants as low as 40k miles- not sure if this applies to the 3.0 v6 diesel engine which was always my go to daily -.. Great channel these guys if you have time to watch a bit of youtube. part one of two - really rate this mechanic runs out of the Black Country.
  14. I will have some if you know him lol- must be good shit that.
  15. This must be a record breaking asking price - show car . https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/578568583791130?ref=search&referral_code=marketplace_search&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3Ab4b3f1d9-44fc-400c-9bd3-3741c2e5e7bf
  16. I had this same decision earlier last year whether to sell my 997 or black Vr6- I decided to sell the 997 with 76 k on the clock as the black corrado had a fresh rebuilt engine rebuild and complete new running gear, all 996 and 997 M96 will need an engine rebuild at some point as words of Hartech. its not if but when and costs 15 k- also teamed up easily with a midlife refresh of 10 k . The Porsche brand is an easier car to source parts for though and there is no need to part hoard spare parts which makes it a more attractive classic car experience. Also its not hard car to sell to pull capital out of it you want to try another car etc or downsize. If I was ever going to to come out of the VW game all together I would probs sell all three and buy a Mezger 997 or 996 and just a nice daily - . very hard decision though as im sure it was for yourself. Another observation I have made is the increase in new car costs- I was one the first to purchase and import in S550 GT in 2015 it cost 32k all in - now today the same spec car to buy new only 7 years later is a whopping 53 k - now in days gone by at the end of a run in a marque would normally be same price as first run to sell off end of marque. Where did your car end up going to If you dont mind me asking and what sort of premium did it fetch in this day and age? was a real nice car for sure must of been sad to see her go.

    Fuel Pump 1995 VR6

I got something off them recent and it was rebated after a few days as not in stock - might be worth dropping them an email to see its in stock- heard of an ebayer seller that cant be bothered to remove the advert for the vdo fuel pump as not in stock - could be this one.
  21. Let’s hope like your Old car a good example is always sort after therefore a market of its own .
  22. 100 percent a nice set of alloys would transform that car - interesting read saying power comes on at 3 k revs and 190 bhp - reckon that would feel pretty damn quick 😂
  23. Talking of your old white golf - here is a bit of tuned one coming up to auction- nice rare interior to. https://www.carandclassic.com/auctions/1990-volkswagen-golf-mk2-gti-16v-gti-engineering-re2100-nRQ5Jg
  24. Never seen anything like it in my life- lock down loans need re paying- lock down tax for the self employed now due , rising values time to try and cash in, costs of now commuting back to work - inflation - all combining factor- we really need some of these dogs getting scrapped as it will get values back to square one- If you dont have a breaker if you can get one cheap go for it.
  25. I believe this to be it . But make Sure ! Its a shame you didnt order yesterday as was 25 percent off and free international postage. Would of been import free. https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.com/catalog/en_uk/part/037905237BX?ct=3&q=037905237BX
