  1. are these from VW themselves? when you say a fine mist, do you mean like out of a flower watering spray thingy?
  2. ** Update ** my car started to stall again like usual and be a right c*nt! so tonight in the dark i take a look, and notice that the top middle and top right ignition leads are sparking down at the sprak plug..i give them a wiggle and they just come off into my hand!! they must of some how worked themselves loose, so i pop them back on, and the top middle ignition lead is still sparking down at the spark plug, could this be the cause of my car not wanting to idle and also when i sometimes accelerate its a bit jerky as it gathers speed? Your input is GREATLY NEEDED please!! P.S how much would a set of Ignition leads and spark plugs set me back and where's best to buy them from?
  3. I need engine oil for my 1993 VR6, I need to drive my car tonight and just checked my oil level and i have NO OIL! (it burns it a bit and i've not checked it in ages! This An issue ill have to tackle at a later date, which oil shall i get? any old 10/40? Please help, thanks!
  4. Yeah i tried that, but for some reason the last person GLUED them on so some paint has come off, so i want to put them back on.
  5. I need to stick one whole side of my cars bump strips back on, Does this tape from halfords have to be some really strong stuff? Is it slightly padded or is it like stelotape thin? Thanks for your help.
  6. cheers phil! and yeah i agree, i thought the gray on black carpet and door cards would look didgy, but it seems to go quite well. I've also got the rear door cards on their way so ill put them in and see how they look.
  7. well i thought it was all ok until tonight, went for a drive, and suddenly the car started to stall when coming to a halt like before, in total i did 22 miles in 55 minutes and it did the stalling this all the time until i came 2 roads from my house (after 22 miles of driving to town and back) where i got so fed up of starting the car everytime it stalled that when it stalled, i bump started the car as i was moving, then after that, the car was back to normal?? I did notice that during my 55 minutes drive tonight interior blower fan stopped working on all speeds, but then later on it started up again? Only thing i have done differently was put £30 of sainsburys unleaded in the day before. I also noticed that the engine water temp neddle did NOT go above the 70 mark...strange as i went for a rather heavy tyre-testing brisks drive after it sorted itself out to see if it was ok, which it is now. Any got any ideas on this strange event tonight?
  8. hello mate, here is what i do. 1. Get a cuppa tea ready 2. Take off them clips, you'll prob have to bend the bump on the clip to seperate the catch, once off, throw away and use a jubilee clip (looks like this.....) 3. Pull the two pipes that are connected off, and unplug the wired connector (press the two metal 'wings' in then slide off) 4. Take a sip of tea. 5. Slide the ISV out of the rubber housing, it might take a little twist at the same time, but it will come out. 6. Spray carb cleaned in both holes of the ISV, and shake and then let drain and dry for a while 7. Drink some more tea, maybe a biscut too. 8. Put all back together, - Slide ISV in rubber housing - Attatch the 2 pipes and do up the jubilee clips, not too tight as they will nip the rubber and can tear it. - Reconnect the wired connection - Finish your tea Hope that helps.
  9. well i feel abit stupid tbh, i left them on for ages and just kept putting my hand on them to see if they were getting warm, and couldnt feel anything, but then i went for a drive and i felt the toastyness of them, so they both work fine! But should they work without the key in the ignition? Because mine do, but wont that mean that their on all the time? Oh, and i cant have the mains power in the cig lighter, it made the car stall loads, so i'm going to have to put the mains wire to the fuse box, fun fun fun!
  10. *********** NEW QUESTION ******************* Ok so i wired my heated seats up today, and used the red/grey live and grey/blue illumination from the cig lighter as i dont have them little plug to put into the fuse box, i'll do this at a later date. The relays click when going from 0 to any higher number, and the click changes depending on the temp, so if i put it on 4 from being on 0, it clicks, then if i leave it for a while, then turn the down to 2, it clicks again, then if i turn it to 0, it'll click once the temp reaches 0. But the actual seats dont get warm themselves, when i brought them i was told they were working, which i believe. HELP, I'm getting fed up now! Neil
  11. well i did find these if anyone can point me in the right dirrection?
  12. thats brilliant, thank you so much shaun! only thing i need now is to find out where these two wires with plugs on them go..... Grey blue - Switch Illumination TV8 (NOTE: The TV terminals are not numbered in the car, you therefore have to guess which one is which, some are obvious, some are not!) but don't worry too much about it if that's not possible! Black - Main Power to Seat Heating Connects into TV5 behind the relay plate (supply to this terminal block should be by black/white wire, this may or may not be already installed in your car, that's hard to predict). TV5 in turn connects to the relay plate at D socket, terminal 9. Have you ever done anything with the relay plate? To get the plugs out you have to pull a large square plastic rod out that runs through the centre of the plate and locates all the plugs. If you have the relay plate hanging down you should be able to see which socket is D as they are all marked, then locate terminal 9 on the plug to get the cable in. Also check that you have a 10 amp fuse in S14. I have no idea what this means, can anyone give me an idiots guide to where to put them?
  13. well i think i may have figured it out, from looking at the diagram the thin black wire joins the big thick wire at O2. and as someone said above, the thick black wire turns into the balck/yellow wire... so, if i just join the thin black wire to the thick black wire, and plug it into the fuse box, it should work?
  14. hmm, ive taken the black insulation tape off and cant see anything under it which will help me find out where the thin black wire from the switch goes? I've got this diagram but i can see where the thin black wire goes! download/file.php?id=59547
  15. Bit off topic i know but you all seem to have heated seats in here and you'll all be able to help me, Any chance you could tell me where thin black wire from the switch goes to, and where in the fuse box the blue/grey (grey plug)and black (green plug) wire goes and where i put the fuse? thank you.
  16. I dont understand where the little black wire goes from the dash switch, if you look at the pic above, the upper left of the picture, there is no thin black wire in that black plug which then connects to the rest of the loom, only the main thick black power wire that goes to the fuse box.
  17. I've got a loom but it's been chopped at the switch end, I've got an idea but want confirmation it'll work... here is my loom cut... wires that are cut are the :- Brown grey/blue black and here is how it should look... So far i've worked out i could:- Extend and put a plug on the end of the grey/blue wire to fuse box Extend and put a plug on the end of the black wire that comes from the black plug further down loom, then that goes to fuse box But where does the little black wire from the switch go? and also, where in the fuse box do i put the two plugs? Any help is greatly wanted!!
  18. nice vote of confidence there...or do you mean if she breaks the car apart for selling?
  19. yep, had a look and found this.. http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/COR/1994/76/57/855913/ 1- 535971381C wiring harness for heated seat Vw have to get it shipped in from Germany, and its £91.52 which includes VAT. 2- 535971382C wiring harness for heated seat / switch / just realised this is a seperate part and i forgot to ask a price.
