  1. well im going to get a standard vr6 air box and put that on, try and make the air filtered a bit more and cleaner for the engine. what pannel filter am i best off getting?
  2. cool think ill get a bmc one then, anybody know if i have to buy the cone bit seperately or does it come with one? and when i remove the carbon canaster, what do i do with the pipes? and wheres the best place to get my bmc cda from?
  3. yeah i know, ive just noticed the definative 'what air filter' thread, silly me for not looking! and ive seen the BMC CDA one, ive found it on venom motor sport.. VW Corrado 2.8 VR6 BMC CDA Enclosed Intake £147.22 (inc. VAT) But ive been thinking, with my exhaust, would i be better with this, or the stock factory one?
  4. I need a new air filter, i have a crappy K&N on now, i want a new one, i have a Straight through SS miltek exhaust with de-cat. should i bother with a new k&n or a standard airbox and pannel filter, or should i get one of these bcm, bmc or whatever they are carbon ones that go down behind the bumper where the carbon canaster is?? What would be best for the running of the car?
  5. ah right, cool, pm me if your selling one of them, do they work with a non standrd vr6, ie, induction kit, de-cat etc.?
  6. I really want to get a chip, i've emailed a guy on ebay but no reply. Ive heard the 1994-1995 vr6 chips are soldered in, is this true? I know i could get my ecu out and have a look, dont fancy disturbing it yet tho.
  7. car passed MOt fine, only recomendations were that the rear beam bushes are splitting, thats my neck job, when i can save up some money to pay a garage to do them!
  8. Just dropped my car off for MOT, awaiting the outcome, i hate MOT time!

  10. i have a L reg 1993 VR6 and was wondering where i should get one from and if mine is soldered in, how do i change it?
  11. be careful, they might come back later for them! Ive heard of ppl looking for stuff on cars and few days later trying to knick stuff!
  12. attempted to raise the front coilovers, could only get one 2 threads higher so its not about 1/2 cm higher now, Had tracking and camber done today, all sorted after replacing nearly everything, but it still steers to the left???
  13. had fitted the 4 new toyo tyres ive had sat in my hallway for 7 months, getthing the tracking and camber done on wedensday, i cant wait to see how it handles after then!
  14. I would love to get out on the track, been talking about it for ages. Tempted by the same thing but at Snetterton at the end of April. £119 but it's a whole day rather than an evening. do you have the link and info for this please?
  15. Hmmm i wouldnt mind doing this, but i like the idea of an open pit lane rather then 3 x 20 min stints.
  16. is that basically you paying the instructor £25 to sit in your car and him give you advise on how to take corners?
  17. just read your post on clubgti forum, sounds great, and the pics are amazing! I've got RAC FULL cover so im fine with that. just found this page, which i think is what you went on, http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/oulto ... uctID=4283 How much in advance did you book it, and how long on the track were you? Thanks for your info!
  18. brilliant, cheers for that info, so im looking at £100 for the day, plus alot of fuel to get there and to 'drive and enjoy'. Ive recently just replaced:- Ball joints, Wish bones, steering rod ends, front and rear brakes and discs, rear bearings, 4 new toyo proxie tyres, oil/filter change, front engine mount.. so im hoping it'll handle good around the track, i want to do it for a laugh, it'll be fun.
  19. As im getting my car up to scratch and pretty much renewing all the major suspension componenets, im interested in a track day, just to say its something i've done, and have always wanted to. But i dont know anything about them. Could anyone give me any advice on where when why and how? I live in sheffield so im pretty central to the UK to get anywhere. Cheers
  20. you can change the cables by removing both footwell shelves, two are accessable from passenger side and other via drivers, altho i broke the arm up behind the dash in drivers footweel, had to lay upside down with my feet either side of drivers headrest, blood to the head is annoying, and ull scrape your fingers to pieces! but its do'able.
  21. take both the cables off, and push and pull them, and see if you can eliminate which one it is that buggered, you might uncover another solution, or if its like my corrado, create more problems!
  22. unless your me and you break the pivot/arm on the heater box behind the dash, now i have to change the whole thing!
  23. when i put my drivers window down all the way, the fuse for the windows blows, i have checked for broken wires and cant see any, but when i put the fuse board back after replacing the fuse, i hear the motor in the rear drivers pannel click, as if it was getting power, the not, then getting it, then not etc... so i pulled the fuse box down again and inspected the wires, after unraveling some leccy tape i found these two wires were connected but a tiny bit of tape like this... could these be causing the window fuse to blow when the window is all the way down, i cant see how it might be connected, but thought i'd check!
  24. the dials, you have to tilt the whole asembly back and up, tilt the rear of it (where the cogs are) up into the dash and then get the top of the dials out and then jiggle it till your fingers are saw! The fan not working on any numbers but 4 will be the thermo resister in the fan itself in passenger footwell, there is a guide how to do it, i did it myself.
  25. Collected my car from having the following fitted.. Wishbones Track rod ends Ball joints Front engine mount Inner steering rod boot Oil n filter change Aux belt Rear brake discs and pads Rear bearings 4 new toyo tyres Now need it tracked and cambered up!
