  1. Allrite guys, Time's come to renew the awful, crusty wiring fitted onto our cars during their production run. I'm needing a load of those large female spade connectors that clamp the red 12v+ feed wires that feed the fuse box, the ones that have a locating tab and also red insulation cover. Does anyone know where i can get them from, their size and if they are available from the stealers?? Cheers.
  2. Allrite wormy, thanks for that. My problem regards the outer rubber dust covers, no way i can get the buggers in Those are the exact calipers like mine. The only way i see of doing it without damaging the seals or dust covers is to use a piece of metal tube slightly bigger in diameter than the caliper's pistons and first insert the pistons.
  3. Right then all, Has anyone ever overhauled a set of Audi s2 duel piston Girling 60 calipers? Try as i may i've tried to get the dust seals back in but i can't for the life of me succceed in getting the little (and big) fekkers back in, no way. Any special tips or procedures? Thanks.
  4. Right then, got a few problems regarding my ignition switch cowl that fell to bits. Basic fact is that the fekkers are NLA anywhere so i've managed to source 1 off a '95 model. Now i also need the compleat wiper/indicator/mfa stalks aswell.. SO what is involved in retro fitting this lot onto a '92 model corrado?? Are the plugs the same? do the 3 fixing screws have their holes in the same place? Do the stalks have to be Corrado specific or would the mk3 golf ones fit? I've got a MOMO steering boss fitted, will the indicators still self cancel? Anyone who's done this conversion please chime in and yes i've searched but got bugger all. CHEERS!!!
  5. Right guys, does anyone know how the 288mm brake discs fitted to various Vw and Audi's differ in diameter? How do they differ in diameter? were's the extra 8mm width added to? I'm trying to fit 288's under s2 calipers so even the extra 8mm would help..seeing as i'm stuck with shiyte 15" rims.
  6. Allrite guys, i'm finally tring to finish off ny 'raddo that's been parked up for nearly 4 years now.. The last thing that needs doing is uprating the brakes but only using 15" rims. Whoose done the s2 caliper mod? what's needed apart from the obivous calipers? I've already got brand new Goodridge hoses fitted onto standard g60 calipers, will they need changing? The more info. the better, cheers. And yes i've been through every page on the forum's search..
  7. Emissions...even though our Corrados were originally fitted with cats..
  8. Allrite chimps, i haven't been on in ages but i'm liking the new layout. My dam corrado has been on stands for nigh on three years now..and even if it was finished and working i can't use it during the week thanks to some new bullshi$t law saying that the corrado is classed as Euro-1 so i can only use it weekends and on national hoildays!! BUT do i get a road tax reduction??.. Seeing as the car's parked in a private garage and then add this new bollox law and it seems that i STILL have to fork up 390Euro a yearon road tax!!! Italy has some strange laws.. You lot enjoy your 'raddos and save a thought for my turboed, nitrous injected 2.0 16valver sleepin away... Cheers-VEEDUBBED.
  9. Right, i need to know if anyone has ever attempted to fit Vauxhall calibra(1990-'95) v6 4 hole discs onto a corrado? Are there any other 4 hole 288mm discs available as a direct fit? Cheers.
  10. Right guys, i've got a problem with brake fluid being forced up and out of the plastic fluid resovoir on top of the ABS block. Turn the ignition on for a bit and the fluid level drops to the MAX mark courtesy of the ABS's motor but as my 'raddo is seldom used i notice that after a few days the level has risen to the top! sometimes even pushed out the cap.. I've changed the black pressure sphere with a used item but now it's even worse. What's up? anyone else had this problem?
  11. Right guys, Been ages since i last went out in my 'raddo but i've been wanting to sort out an issue that's always been present, ripping up engine and gearbox mounts! Whats everyone doing to resolve this bloody problem? i'm thinking Vibratech or something similuer but i don't want harse vibes in the cabin. Suggestions? maybe the old golf ralley had uprated mounts fitted? TDI mounts off a mk3 golf?
  12. Rite then piglets, it's been ages since i last posted here as my 'raddo has been hibernating for years now.. Anyway which one of you kind lot are gonna sell me a spare ribbed drive pulley for a 120amp vr6 alternator?? Here in Italy vr6 corrados just don't exist so i'm stuck! Let me know if you have. Cheers.
  13. What's the difference between Dave's shortshift version and the utterly shiyte 100 euro version i bought off eBay.de? Worst mod i've ever done on my car and bloody pricy aswell, utter garbage. I'll be posting you down a spare gearshifter soon mate, can i use PayPal?
  14. Done loads now mate. First thing, you 9A's fuel pump is ideal,no need to change it,just change the fuel filter and check the fuel press.secondly i wouldn't use the Audi exh.manifold as it's very restrictive and kills top end 'cos the runners are too narrow in diameter compared to cheap eBay steel jobbies, the difference is very noticeable..injectors?,get a set off a scrapped Fiat coupè t.16v,they are 385cc Webers and are perfect. Injection?, either get hold of a wiring loom from a cosworth sierra or any Lancia delta integrale and modifiy it to fit,the map contained in the original delta eeprom is vertually perfect for our engines anyway.Pistons?,either modifiy your own 9A one's or get a set of forged pistons or double up on head gaskets(ABF steel versions and NOT the fibre crap).Do a double exhaust cam mod and prefrebly a 2.5 or even better full 3" exhaust system and you'll be good to go. Then start worrying about the gearbox exploding, spinning 1 wheel, having to uprate brakes,suspension,tyres......
  15. Been there with Digifart on my older T.16 2.0 corrado mills. The 9A white headed water temp.sensor(2pin) will work fine, they are also excellent when using Weber/Marelli injection as i've got now, just don't use the shiyte blue headed Weber sensor,1.8KR Bosch sensor is also ideal but has a bigger thread compared to the 9A 2.0 sensor. Only chip that was worth fitting was an SNS stg.5 version, all the others are total rubbish,Digilag was awful.
  16. Easy as pie mate,KR mills have '1.8' stamped on the back of the block under the exh.mani. as 9A valver mills have '2.0' stamped on their blocks in the same place.
  17. Hi mate,i think your in for a huge amount of work... I don't think that many mk3 golf bits will fit,Vw passat g60 bits will though, did you ever get any '91/'92 g60 passats in Brazil?. The mk3 tranny would bolt onto your engine no problem but that's the least of your problems, you'd also need the manual version g60 injection ecu as the auto's version is different. Good luck mate!
  18. Er,You paid 700 euro for a fooked part?,your not normal matey, someone has shafted you BIG time!! I'll post you 1 down to the uk,i'm in Rome.Italy so not exactly round the corner.. The potentiometer is yours for free mate, just make a donation to our lovely forum so we can help keep it alive. Send me your address and i'll pop 1 in the post for you.
  19. Er,that looks pretty fooked mate, time for a new 1 me thinks. How much did they you have to pay??? :( Let me know if you can't find 1 as i've a few spares.
  20. I don't think there are any uprated rods for g60's,i'm probably mistaken but i never use the 136mm rods anyway(turbo 16v 9A 2.0).The only thing to do is re-bush your rods and have done or grab a set of custom forged pistons with 'h' section rods, now it starts gettin expensive. Crankshaft's got nothing to do with it mate,it's the small ends that change on the rods(22mm on g60 rods,20mm on 9A valvers,8 valve mills etc) as does the length,136mm-g60,144mm-9A.
  21. Yes they are the O/E spec con-rods fitted into the PG block.
  22. Yeah, apparently it seems quite common on PG G60 engines although i've had quite a few G60 engines i've never had this problem. Strange also that those 136mm rods were out of the diesel engine with 20/1 C/R's,if your engine sounds like that motor on the Youtube video i reckon on dropping the sump and head removal, you don't won't what happened to my Fiat engine..
  23. That sounds fine mate, leave a few mm's play to avoid the car accelerating by itself whilst hitting bumps and moving the engine about.
  24. Hmm,sounds suspiciously like small end tap,136mm short con-rods fitted to the g6o can do this.About 15 years ago i had a old Fiat uno turbo 1.3 that had that exact same sound, ended up putting a rod uot through the side of the engine block...,get it looked at mate.
