  1. They come with them attached - you just need to buy the rack boot and clips.
  2. Best to buy genuine yeah... the AVS ones are cheaper but they rust like fook and the boots on the track rod ends are rubbish, same with the steering rack boots - don't last at all.
  3. Edd - if it's in the garage still get them to buz the hubnut off and check for bearing play again - sometimes it's not apparent until you do this.
  4. Most tyres I've tried seem to last 10-12k on the front of the C - including Rainsport 1's, 2's, Eagle F1 GSD3's and Yoko A539's Worst I've tried are the T1S's - 6k miles on the G60 and dangerous in the wet. I've just replaced the fronts on the TDI which were Pirelli P Zero Nero's - 24k miles I had out of them with 2mm left when I changed them, now that's unheard of!!
  5. Yep - either use the above, a 14mm spark plug socket or a lambda socket Other option is take to a garage and get them off with a windy gun - or buy one of those cheap 12V ones.
  6. Very good wheels for brake clearance as above but sh1te quality in terms of paint finish... not trying to put people off but I think you have to remember these are aimed at Motorsport and not made to last as well as OE. http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=216945
  7. TVR were cheaper than VW a few years ago - I bought both sides for £25 each where VW wanted £25 for the Pass side and £35 for the drivers for some reason!
  8. This is the problem though Kev - the tubo is currently on the floor of the garage (attached to the manifold) - I've been doing some reading and it appears it won't actually work like this and needs to be attached to the car in some way - I'm thinking about getting it welded on but maybe using sticky fixers as a tempory solution? Old Albert Haywires mask is very useful although it gets steamed up fairly quickly... the view is quite restrictive too and I keep finding myself driving straight over roundabouts - apart from that though it's very good and also has the added advantage that it can be used whilst out dogging too! Are you meeting myself and Nelson at the pub later??
  9. I've got a front exit... Yep, you read it right - I've removed the whole exhaust system (including the manifold) to save weight. Still needs a bit of tweaking though as the car feels quite unresponsive and I have to stop the car every few miles to throw up.
  10. Yeah it will be... Basically the stat is key for the whole system, you need to sort that first before looking at anything else...
  11. Yep the pulley has a woodruff key. I had a massive ordeal with mine so if you need any advice pm me bud I think you guys are talking about the pulley that's connected to the crank itself - ie the cambelt one on a 4 cyl... This is a VR and I think he means the aux belt pulley that you can see - not the chain one?
  12. Ah - found my original part in a mocal bag but no hole for the snadwich plate so must the the standard one... I have a feeling I sold the one I had to Tom (VR6) - sure the part number is on the form somewhere too...
  13. Thats the bit I have - I bought a VR one by accident then doing the G60 - give me 5 mins...
  14. Hmmm - I think it has to be the stat if the bottom hose is staying cold... fitted the right way etc??? Try running without it for a bit...
  15. Ah well done Vince - I assume this is what Dave at DG also found... still got my old one somewhere so will crack it open and take a look! I'd assumed the tracks wore out but they look nice and clean - I can also imagine heat from Turbo's cars maybe doesn't help with the life of the solder joints? BTW - I think these may be available from VW again as someone at work had one changed by a local garage on a service recently - not sure where they sourced it from though but the price was £60 ish
  16. I have a spare one somewhere from Mocal - will try and dig it out. Not really sure I understand though as the size is governed my the thread so should be a standard size?
  17. Hi mate - yeah that's the problem with Febi stuff - last exactly 2 years! - been there done that... Those callipers are good but also awfully heavy! Is you're G60 ABS?? - Just if not you may have issues with the Master Cylinder not being big enough, ideally you need the 24mm one from the UR Quattro to match the calipers.
  18. Weird codes there mate... I would Re-Scan with Vagcom if you can and then clear them Not sure I trust VCDS tbh - You've not got a kick down switch for a start being a manual!
  19. You tried unplugging the 5th injector?
  20. http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info. ... cts_id=649
  21. I'm fairly sure MK4 stuff doesn't fit... it's MK3 VR6 discs you need. The calipers and pads should be ok though...
  22. Was 3 for 2 now BOGOF so good time to stock up on Meguirs / Autogylm / Zymol etc as it's cheaper than anywhere else. This includes the Clay bar kits and the High Def wax but annoyingly doesn't cover the Rain-X glass cleaner for some reason... http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... RCLEAN-M-1
