One thing about the DS2500 for 4-Pots is they are actually cheaper for the 305mm Seat Brembo setup than the Brembo pads are from Seat so not too bad.
-
You may have to on yours Mawrick but not on the Teves MKIV system we got in the UK... VAG say bleed with the weight of the car on the ground (ramp) but as above you can get round this by opening the comp valve. As RW1 says though - if no flow or flow stops then very likely to be a collapsed flexi pipe or faulty valve unit.

Yandards' Nugget G60 - gone but not forgotten..

Cool - did the brake test figures tell you anything? -
You've got a trade card haven't you? Bosch with a 5 year warranty is about £53 in the size you need. Otherwise TPS do a Varta for about £40 but only a 4 year warranty IIRC
-
Noooo! It will just pull out but I don't think you can get a new one in without taking the glass out - it's the type of seal that's put onto the glass before it's fitted.
-
Pagid are fine but VW ones are not much more than that... As Mat says - the windback tool is needed.
-
Yep - you should always test new stats and on a 4 Cyl, fill via the tank but slowly - VW say 5 mins.

G60 - Fuse #21 - keeps blowing, permanent live problem!
Supercharged replied to Fozzi's topic in Engine Bay
The glove box light is on fuse 16 but yeah, the central locking should be on 21 but maybe being fed from an aftermarket alarm? -
They are a fecker as they get old, the tab at the bottom needs to be pulled up to release it - be careful though as I know someone who broke their own windscreen doing this

G60 - Fuse #21 - keeps blowing, permanent live problem!
Supercharged replied to Fozzi's topic in Engine Bay
I'd look at each component first to see if you spot anything... for instance check the boot light is not shorting on the chassis, same for the make up mirror and also have a good look at the wiring behind the lighter plug in case this has been tapped into for anything else. Then unplug all these things, get a load of fuses and keep testing to try and isolate the issue. -
Hello - Yes you do and it's a 6PK1640 or 1638 you need as long as you don't have aircon also check the tensioner and both plastic idler wheels are good as belt slip is more likely with a smaller pulley.
-
Shouldn't be enough to flatten a battery though mate - left mine on a few times for 8 hours or so and always had enough juice to start the car!
-
LOL, yep that's the sidelights indicator as explained in the instruction manual... You have a working headlight switch!

I'll sell you a pair then - haha! Honestly mate - don't buy coilovers unless you have £1000-£1500 to spend. -

Mate - just read that - I have a brand new spare Koni I can sell you... I'd go for that rather than the Weitecs - they provide the same or worse ride quality than the KX V1's - ie harsh! Koni's work well on the VR, stick with them. You could grab the shock if you come round the weekend of the Volksfest? -
Sounds like an air (vac) leak - you need to go round and check all the hoses...
-
Standard part fitted to all VR's... Still available or the one from something like the new Skoda Octavia is the same size - not as good quality though

Yan - can't help thinking this isn't another case of GSF selling the wrong single piece 1.1 / 1.3 bearings for the KR like so many dead engines on CGTI?? - GVK's epic valver rebuild being one of them! http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=142342 http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=189047 http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=86106 http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=59794 http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=189393 -
Whats the best MPG anyones had out of a Corrado?
Supercharged replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in General Car Chat
Kev - out of interest what does yours show at 165MPH?? -
This is what you need -
-
If your in a hurry go to Pirtek - not cheap but they'll be able to sort it
-
Sounds like a distorted cage if it's coming on at a particular speed? Sometimes you get a mis-match with replacement ABS sensors but you've replaced both - assume they were the same make? You could compare resistance readings using the plug at the top of the suspension turret but you really just need to clear the codes on VAGCOM, drive it until the light comes on and re-read them.
-
Put it on Edition38 for £10K - some knobba will buy it becuase it's so low!
-
No - sorry I mean you need to use you're existing early motor... You could probably use the later motor but you would need to change the loom along with all the other bits too as the later cars have the full closure feature on the roof too.
