The cartridge itself is fine - you will need to swap the motors though which is literally 2 screws / bolts. The later motor has a bigger plug on it.
-
I wouldn't go shopping just yet, it's only the 2nd of the month
-
The Cambelt kit from VW will only be about £20+vat to the garage then it's a book time of 2 hours labour to do it. £145 sounds reasonable but I would insist on them using genuine parts from TPS EDIT - beaten to it but bassically as said above.
-
The plastic bearing needs to sit on a later type 'flat' upper spring plate... You also need whats called the 'threaded bush' which is basically a flanged nut along with the mount and bearing.
-
357412329 is correct for the car - that's the heavy duty replacement for the original MK2 top mounts developed for the G60 engine. If it's from GSF though I wouldn't use it - the seperate MK3 type mounts also give you more ride comfort.

Shocking! http://www.ebcbrakes.com/contact.shtml

The hose is roughly around 13mm OD (7.6mm ID) I'd get them from VAG though mate not Demon Theives!
-
Yeah - Engine condition, fuel and oil consumption are not a good marker of mileage.. espedcially on cars this age In my experience a well looked after 16V engine gets better and faster between 80-120k and should use hardly any oil whatsoever... they might start to at 150k+ and need a head rebuild.

Best £ for £ modification to do on a Corrado
Supercharged replied to dan's topic in General Car Chat
Depends if your talking about actual mods or not... Fixing the headlight switch is just replacing a faulty part, Gear oil is just servicing... -
Infact - post the email up from EBC - that sounds complete rubbish to me, hopefully put other people off buying their discs and pads!
-
EBC stuff is rubbish and it's not worth getting Discs skimmed in the sizes we buy as they are so cheap. I would stick to your guns - get a replacement set out of them and sell them on eBay. Then buy a new pair from VAG - will last 80-100K miles easily.

LOL - Interestingly Chris was glad to have driven the valver to Scotland - reckoned it was far better on the tighter roads than the VR would have been - better turn it etc.
-
Your maybe best off taking a tape measure - as long as it's the right car and the disc is 312mm then you know the carrier is ok...
-
LOL - yeah that's me in the pic above - random!
-
Well mine seems to underread by 3-5 MPG but I know the speedo is set perfectly to the correct speed tested with sat nav... I never get less than 500 miles to a tank of fuel and I have the smaller 55l tank - usually stick in arounf 45 ltrs - ie 10 Gallons.
-
That was probably me then when we went to Holland - 26th to the 30th May?? Kev - remember mine's light too compared to a MK4... I got 62 on average in Holland but we were doing a fairly consistent 60mpg in 6th gear most of the way. The remap helped too, more power and more MPG! Not sure about the newer stuff but anyone should be able to get 50+ out of a 1.9 PD engine under normal driving - if not then it's either soemthing wrong with it like a MAF issue or a cack re-map. Infact the only time I've seen less than 50mpg was over the last winter becuase it was so bl00dy cold.

Golf MK4 integrated mk5 parts??
Supercharged replied to CorradoVR6-Turbo's topic in General Car Chat
Yeah it's a Polo front end, called a City Golf (as opposed to the Rabbit) and made by VW Brazil. Dinkus might know a bit more about it.... VW Brazil kind of do there own thing to suit the styling of the US - the same as China who are still using a Corrado look alike dashboard in the Jetta. -
Starting Issue - starter motor doing nothing
Supercharged replied to 4eyes2wheels's topic in Engine Bay
When was the ignition switch last changed? -
Yeah - should be about £50 for all 3 from VW... Worth changing anyway to rule them out.
-
I can't see how this would happen with coilovers fitted?? The usual issue is corrosion on the upper spring plate or someone has drilled them out to fit Koni inserts and then gone back to original or forgot to fit the washer - all pretty dangerous!
-
Machine mart do a kit specifically for VW's but it doesn't really work from what I've heard... To be honest you are far better off taking the bearing carrier off the car and taking then to you're local garage and get them to do the bearings on a press. Obviously you will need the alignment doing afterwards and you will need a decent ball joint splitter so as not to destroy the boots.

Could be a few things but sounds electrical... When were the ignition switch, fuel pump and ecu relays last changed?

Yandards' 16VG60 - Running Report 23 Jul 15

Well done mate - look forward to seeing... JMR's one is back on the road too - well kind of... He was at Inters today although it was trailered as he has a few bits to finish after the crank pulley keyway gave way while it was being mapped so it's basically just had a top end rebuilt. -
LOL... no!
