  1. Probably just a knackered resister then... Usually the fuse blows when the resistor overheats due to a knackered fan but not always...
  2. Well the original Corrado ones had bigger cut outs to the MK4 specific ones in the photo...
  3. No - it's fitted to the R32 MK4 Golf and Seat so any dealer can order - they are around £8 each. they are M12 ID (same as the bolt) so fit without a sleeve, it's just a 5 min job with a press to get the old ones out and run these in
  4. That fits everything but the R32  You need 8N0407181B As fitted to the MK4 R32, MK1 TT, LCR etc
  5. What year is it - if it's an early G60 with the 2 seperate pumps then it's maybe a failing lift pump. Either way I'd try a new lift pump and fuel filter, if it's a late car then you will need to replace the whole pump assembly and also the fuel sender unit as the pump has changed.
  6. Yeah don't use radweld... Bridging is just joining the connectors - just use a paper clip for the plug on the tank... there may not be anything wrong bu the way, it only need to be a couple of cm under the max mark for the low level light to flash and this won't go out even after topping up until you restart the engine. The ran fan switch (near the battery) supplies volts to the fan so you really need to make up a wire to bridge this properly
  7. You need to buy a blue cap asap - should have been changed years ago! You also need to fix the leak before looking any further as the cooling system needs to be pressurised to work properly. It's obviously leaking loads at the moment but what are you topping up with? (system needs to be at least 30% G12+/++ to work properly) When testing again I would unplug the tank connector and bridge it, this will tell you if the tank sensor is faulty or not. Next I'd look at the rad-fan thermoswitch, it's a 2 stage switch and it may be not working at one of those stages hence the fan not kicking in.
  8. Take the car to Halfords if you can to test the car on the Bosch tester they use... Have you checked the obvious like boot light, disconnecting stereo and alarm etc?
  9. What car do you have? when was it last serviced?
  10. Thay're not far off to be honest...
  11. Anyone after a new jack too - this is perfect for Corrado's and well worth the extra £10 over the standard yellow one. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... =ClickInfo
  12. No point, just stick to genuine (normally Bosch) stuff - lasts and takes the heat well!
  13. Those Audi ones are a bit to easy to break - just order Metalnerd from the US - M12 and M14 Been using mine for years now!
  14. Spray on cavity wax from 3M etc - try a bodyshop / paint supplies place - usually £8 for a 500ml can
  15. Door handles are worth £70 though - they are £95 new now!
  16. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT Only a Corrado (or maybe an Edition One) owner would pay nearly a ton for an 'imperfect' G60 grill badge :) For the record this part was £5.45 in 2001 (with 10% discount applied)
  17. Awesome GTI sell it too if you need it quick but I'd get it from the States for half the price tbh... http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/product.ph ... 5&xSec=936
  18. Yup, M14 for a VR and M12 for 4 stud... You might have to email him for international postage costs - it's not a lot though, mine was like £8 delivered.
  19. You want the Metalnerd wheel assist tool mate - been using one for years now! http://www.metalnerd.com/cat08.htm
  20. Hey Kev - No, from the bottom but they were a very tight fit so I doubt they'd ever come out with the track rod end...
  21. Right, got the sleeves fitted - really don't know when I will actually fit them to a car though tbh... A Pillar drill was used with a nice and sharp Dormer drill bit, the carrier was clamped nice and tightly and the drill went through it like butter at a slow speed using coolant / cutting oil. Fit was very tight but just used a big vice to push the sleeves in.
  22. Yeah I saw that earlier - no log book either, lol!
  23. £100 a panel is always a good good guide price for a good quality cash job... £200 for just the top of the bonnet I'd say is top whack, if the paint is already paid for etc and it's cash then I would say £130 tops - it's a bolt on part so hardly any prep involved!
