Eurocarparts do Conti-tech belts now, same as genuine VAG - Don't use anything else as they simply don't last!
-
Yeah, heard good things about them but Varta are only a fiver more and you get another year warranty.
-
OBD2 doesn't use an ISV? :?
-
£55 roughly from VW Easy enough to change but you also need an Eezibleed kit to push some fluid thru...
-
Er yeah - stay away from Banner... Varta are fairly well priced from VW or Halfords now do Bosch ones with a 5 year warranty.
-
Go for the slave then mate - even if it was done in 2003 that's 7 years ago now and if the fluid has not been changed in that time then it may have rotted a new one... Take a pic if you like but I would buy and fit a new slave
-
Is water actually flowing in and out of the matirx? Pipes both the same temp? Not had time to read the thread but sounds like faulty bypass valves if fitted
-
Yep - fill slowly, VW say 5 mins and you'll have no issues at all... I usually warm up with the cap off and wait for the stat to open then shut the engine off... Let it cool down, top up if needed, cap on and you're done.

He still posts on Edition37 and DW I think... not sure what happened to his Corrado though... still has it I hope
-
How old is the Slave Kev? Any signs of fluid ontop of the gearbox?
-
Best thing to do in this situation is to fit either a rallye ECU (rare) or a ported head. The head work is one of the best mods to do anyway on a G60 and the increase in port size brings the boost figure down.
-
Might just be a faulty battery tbh... try and charge it overnight
-
They were green Karl but I do have some MKV R32 Reds somewhere I think... If you do DS2500 then give Bill Brockbank (Badger5) a call - I think they are about £125
-
It's not just an anti freeze but a corrosion inhibitor... The VR6 heads seem to suffer badly enough from the wrong type of anti freeze let alone none at all. You could be lucky but probably a good time to get a replacement engine.
-
Non-paper air filters kill ISV's... There was brand new one on eBay - £99 bargain!
-
Yup - I usually just hook the Eezibleed up and then open one of the rears - reach over to the valve and push it up and you will see the flow become unrestricted (useful to have a second person for this!)
-
Unfortunately we've reached a point where they are worth more in bits than as a whole car - prices will only go up rom this point though really. Good for spares now and the value of mint examples but it's a bit sad to see cars with nothing wrong with them being split - with only 10,400 originally shipped into the UK.
-
People assume they last longer etc because they are thicker but it's usually quite the opposite - I've never had any luck with aftermarket leads yet I've never had a genuine VW set fail on me. I suppose in some applications the extra insulation helps make them last against high engine temps but again the VAG ones are such good quality and you can buy separate leads if you ever damage one while changing plugs. 8-10mm is no good for the cable management on a VR6 anyway - they'll just look sh1t!
-
About £80 from VW but the Beru sets that VWspares sell are virtually identical.
-
Yep, Plus axle only - main difference is the ball joint arrangement
-
How about in the medium of interpretive dance? Obviously more difficult to convey but I like your thinking and would like to see it!

My 1st Corrado - Updated P3 Rear axle refurb and new lights

Nice work and great pics! -
Nothing wrong with the blower mate - MK2's were awesome! Either new motor / resistor pack or more likely you have a 'flaps' issue
-
Does it use much oil? you could try a 15W in the summer if you are using 10W-40 For now I would just change that plug every 4-6 months (nice and cheap on a VR) and start saving! VEGE exchange engines are roughly £1700

Where Can I get a "Corrado" Rear Badge from?
Supercharged replied to joely7634's topic in Suppliers Forum
They are only £12 new from VW!! FFS....
